After two days of driving through snow storms and heavy rain and spending a night sleeping in the truck at a Cracker Barrel just outside Chattanooga, TN, we finally made it to South Florida. We had just arrived to the area and it was a bit late. We were driving through Homestead, FL. We were hungry looking for something to eat. We saw an open food stand serving Venezuelan food. My wife being Venezuelan, and my favorite food being a Cachapa, we hooked a u-turn and headed back to the food stand. I ordered the Venezuelan hamburger (Burger La Tuyera) and my wife ordered the Barrilla (mixed BBQ). This was the first time I have had a Venezuelan hamburger. It was a huge hamburger (see the pics). It had sausage, an egg, cheese (queso de mano), corn... it was awesome. My wife loved her order. She had been saying she could not wait to get down to Miami to get some delicious arepas. The selection of meats in mixed BBQ tasted great and were cooked perfectly. The arepitas tasted awesome. The food here at this food stand was definitely worth doing a u-turn for. The couple running the food stand were very friendly and welcoming. We will be returning another day to try out their cachapas!!

The owner is very friendly and always gives good suggestions. It's opened during the evening hours until night so it's always fresh to sit and eat there. I have to return and try their burgers or carne en vara!!! 100 recommended!

The place was a little confusing with multiple counters to order different foods. There were six of us and everyone ordered from different counters, so I was bouncing from counter to counter to pay. I only speak a little Spanish, and they only spoke a little English but we managed to get what wanted. There wasn't much seating inside, so we ate outside. It was brutally hot, but pretty comfortable under umbrellas with a breeze. We would go there regularly if we lived there.

This is like El Palacio de Jugós, but better because you can eat with AC. There are also some outdoor tables, if you prefer. I have visited twice this week. On my first visit, I ate the small completa with pork, white rice, red beans and yucca. Everything was packaged well and there was a bigger completa if you are more hungry. My friend had the pizza, but there was a 30 minute wait and well worth it. There is nothing like a Cuban pizza. On my second visit, I tried the frita which comes with lettuce, tomato and ketchup. What?! I changed that to just cheese and onions with papita Julianna. Well, they come with potato sticks, but it worked. The frita was very flavorful. Not the kind I'm used to, but I didn't find anything wrong with it. It was great! I had to get a guarapo (sugar cane drink) and that was delicious! The place has a special for the day and lots of sandwiches, shakes and foods to try. I asked if they have a cantina option and was told to look for it in their website. Overall, this place is a gem. I loved everything about it including the music in the parking lot. I plan to return as much as I can.

We got a sampler platter that included some croquetas, plantain chips, tamal, fried pork chunks, and fried shrimp. Zero complaints about anything! So so good. My main was the Sopa de Res, which was a hearty soup. The serving size was gigantic. I actually took most of it back with me and it made two more meals. There were lots of root vegetables, slow cooked beef still on the bone, a side of rice and corn. My dad got a huge Cuban sandwich that he also ate on for days and my mom had empanadas, which I finished off for a third meal. We also went back for pie. That was ok - it was extremely rich and kind of pricy at $13 a slice. I also tried their Cortadito and took it to go. Great coffee as well. Highly, highly recommend eating here. The decor is fun and the wait staff super nice and patient with all our questions. They also have a separate ice cream shop across the parking lot.

My husband ordered a Cuban sandwich with French fries cooked to perfection in clean oil, and I had grilled chicken (pechuga à la Blanche) with beans, rice, and sweet plantain, along with cilantro sauce. The portion sizes are very generous and we each had leftovers for another whole meal. We will definitely be back! I also appreciated that the suggested tip amount started at 15%. We left more, but too many restaurants have the suggested tip amounts much too high. Do look at the menu item pricing, as some dishes were $75+. It may have been due to portion size as well as ingredients.

Due to social distancing, I was sending friends and family Thanksgiving dinner via UberEats. I have an uncle who lives in the delivery area of this restaurant so I selected them. I used the (future delivery) option when I started putting together the orders over the weekend. Today I called this restaurant to confirm the delivery and give them my uncle's phone so they could notify him when they were close. The waitress who picked up the phone seemed dismissive, and not five minutes from hanging up I get a message from UberEats that the order had been cancelled. It left a really bad and unprofessional taste in my mouth.
