July 16,2026 - Our first ghost tour experience in Wilmington, NC was at The Haunted Pub Crawl. We tried purchasing our tickets online yet had some difficulties. We went to The Black Cat Shoppe in person- an hour before the tour started - to purchase them in person and were able to get two tickets. We went to the site to meet our tour guide 15 minutes before the tour started as requested. It was not comfortable because it was hot at the meeting area outside. The tour guide came around 7:30 pm and introduced herself and got to know us. Before the tour started, we had to sign paperwork to claim that the business and tour guide was not responsible for any problems we had on the tour. Our tour guide Gina was a delight and gave us a theatrical performance throughout the tour. Not only was she dressed in a costume, she was always on cue and kept the tour interesting and short & sweet. She made sure all our accommodations were taken care of and had a microphone, so we could hear her throughout the tour. Throughout the tour, she offered to take photos and help as much as possible. There were three couples, six people in the group- 7 including the tour guide: Alex, Tyler, Rachel, Zoe, Bobby, O. , & Gina, the tour guide. We walked to four bars during the night hearing ghost stories and experiences from the energetic and ecstatic Gina. From the reviews I read, the tours go to different and various bars each time . On our tour we went to : Growler's Tavern, The Rooftop Bar, Lula's, and The Blue Post. You purchase the drinks you like at each bar and congregate at a chosen area to hear the ghost stories from the tour guide. Only one bar had drink specials posted for us to see. Most of them were dive bars yet charming nonetheless. My favorite bar was Lula's because it was small and welcoming. Tiffany made me a classic martini and chilled the glass for me. The ghost story Gina told me was my favorite as well. Other highlights in the tour: The creepiest place was at the theater area by The Rooftop Bar. The Rooftop Bar had the most spectacular aerial views of the sunset and Wilmington. The decor, games, pool tables, and drink specials in Growler's Tavern. The sitting area in The Blue Post that use to be an open are alley walk way for prostitutes. The tunnel entrance in Lula's , an underground dark pub, which was part of The Underground Railroad, where slaves escaped to gain freedom. Overall, we liked our haunted pub crawl, and we got ideas of places we would visit again in the future. read more

Jamie is the goat. Pure aura. Our tour got cinematic. Took us to all the best spots and told great stories 10/10 will be returning with all my friends read more

Better planning for opening of the bars taken to, stories told in the bars. Not well planned out.

Jamey did a great job! Great stories in parts of Wilmington we never would have found on our own. Definitely would recommend.

Steve was an amazing guide! He took us to the coolest spots. 100% recommend doing this if you're in the area. read more

Haunted Pub Crawl - Jaime, our haunted pub crawl host! - Bar Crawl Near Me - Wilmington, North Carolina

After having an awesome experience at the ghost walk with my family, I decided to go on the pub crawl with a friend. I was excited for a more PG-13 tour without kids, and that is what I got! Our tour guide Steve was super engaging, hilarious and no doubt that he knew his stuff. I couldn't believe how much ground we were able to cover in the three hours we were there but never felt rushed. I enjoyed that with a smaller group, it felt more like a conversation than just listening to stories. He was great about answering questions and even asked us about our own experiences. I had such a fun time and was sad when it was over. I will be back again, Steve! read more

Took the tour on a Wednesday night. Jamie was our guide. Very entertaining fellow and knew how to tell a story. He even had the women crying with one of his tales. The bars he took us to were very interesting. I was amazed at the number of bars stuck in nooks and crannies all over downtown Wilmington. In this tour we visited four. Excellent history lessons were shared for all. I recommend this tour for anyone that likes a beer with their haunted history. read more

Our group had a great time! Did the tour for a friend's birthday. All of us are long time Wilmington residents but saw some bars (and weird things) for the first time. Our host was first rate, very fun and did his part well! All bar staff were accommodating to our group. Highly recommend!! read more

Our group of 7 had so much fun on this tour. Jamey was a friendly, engaging, and hilarious host. We especially appreciated the encouragement to get to know others on the tour, explore the bars, and ask questions. We all thought the amount of stops and time at each one was perfect. The stories were spooky, the bartenders were wonderful, and the fun facts along the way made our time on the crawl a memorable one. Thank you, Jamey! read more

Jamie was such a great story teller and kept me interested through the entire crawl. It was so much fun!!

This reflects my entire experience. The rating would be four stars if I were only talking about the guide, stories and setting. Our guide specifically, was engaging, organized and did a great job overall. With all of the other costs involved, we need a little more from the pub crawl. I suggest: Maybe a free place to park. Parking was $6 per hour and the crawl took about 3 hours. A token/ticket for a free drink or two. Beers started at $6, mixed drinks started at $10, before tip. All four bars had a $10 minimum if paying with a credit card. A commemorative mug or glass of the haunted pub crawl would even be cool. Bottom line is, The Haunted Pub Crawl, itself, is a neat experience. The execution can get costly very quick, everything considered. A conservative crawl looks something like this: $25 Haunted Pub Crawl ticket $18 Parking for three hours $18 Three beers $ 4 Tip 22% $65 Total per person read more

Steve was a fantastic tour guide; personable and fun. He's a great storyteller. We loved being able to enter the locations and the drinks were great too. read more

We had a blast! Jamie was our tour guide and he was the best! My friend and I headed to Wilmington for the weekend and thought why not do a haunted pub crawl! Great decision!! We walked to four different bars in downtown Wilmy and at each stop Jamie told us some of the history of the building's past along with the story of why the ghost is still there! It was so much fun! Plus we went to some bars I'd never been to before! Wilmington is a beautiful city with a charming downtown! It's so easy to walk the streets and take in the scenery but having a tour guide is an added bonus! There are many bars and buildings downtown with haunted history ... this tour takes you to four over about 2.5 hours. So you can attend more than once because if you tell them you've been to certain spots, they'll try to take you to new ones! Head down to the Black Cat Shoppe on Market and pick up your tour tickets! We're still in the off season (it's March as I write this) so the tours aren't nightly yet but depending on the time of year you visit, there will be options!! You do have to be 21 years old to attend, even if you won't be drinking because you can't go into the bars if you're under age. But don't let that deter you! There's also a haunted walking tour that doesn't involve bars If that's not quite up you're alley. ;) And I'm not sure if maybe there's a ghost in one of our pictures. ;) check it out!! read more

Steve was fantastic, stories were really entertaining and we went to bars we never would have found otherwise. Great way to spend a couple hours, especially if you spend your weekends drinking anyway. Gives you some entertainment, while you drink. Would recommend! read more

My fiance and I decided to stay an extra night on a whim here in Wilmington and at our hotel the first think my fiance grabbed was your brochure saying "baby we must do this!". And I'm so glad we did! It was so much fun, our tour guide Jamie was great with knowledge, footage, pictures etc to explain his stories. It was such a great time. And heck we met a few new people who we ended up partying some more of the night with. It was really a great time! I highly recommend it-but stay within walking distance to really enjoy the night!! read more

We had family in for the weekend and decided to go on this. Jaime, our guide, was phenomenal! Would love to take the tour again to hear stories from other pubs on the crawl (Apparently there are about 10 different bars). We spent about 3 hours on the tour (roughly 20-30 minutes at the 4 locations we visited). Talk to the other people on the tour, it makes the evening so much more fun! read more

My girlfriend and I took a trip to Wilmington and we did the Haunted Pub Crawl. I wish we would have done this tour our first night in Wilmington so we could base the rest of our trip on the different haunted places that we learned about during the pub crawl. Our guide, Holli, was great! We started at The Liquid Room and went to three other bars where we got drinks, listened to her haunted stories, and proceeded to the next location. The stories were great and creepy with some interesting history tied into them. There are ties to Captain Jack Sparrow and Jack The Ripper! Also, I really don't think someone just visiting Wilmington would find some of these interesting bar locations down alleys or underground. That's why I suggest this tour as one of a tourist's first venues when visiting Wilmington. read more

Jaime was a great tour guide. Really knows his history. You can tell he really enjoys giving the tour. I would definitely recommend this to anyone in area or passing through. My girlfriend and I were only in town for one night. We got to go to four bars through the tour. Some very hidden, tucked away down alleys and basements. After the tour Jaime suggested a fifth bar with some history to it which we went to after the tour. Highly recommend, especially if you like ghost stories. read more

My husband I went on the Haunted Pub crawl last night and it was definitely the perfect Halloween weekend activity! Jamie was our guide and he is fantastic story teller. We went to 4 bars and it was a great way to get to know the city's history in addition to experiencing Wilmington nightlife. Suggestion - bring cash to make getting your beverages at the bars go a little faster! read more

Jamey was our guide on an engaging, hilarious, spooky, and intoxicating haunted pub crawl. With all sorts of historical knowledge and wit at his disposal, he made the entire evening fly by, we would recommend him and this tour to anybody. read more

Great activity for a night in Wilmington. Best way to drink and be entertained for over 4 hours. Find some great nightlife, meet new friends, and have a few drinks. read more

I had such a great time on this haunted pub crawl! I'm so glad that it was recommended by both locals and tourists who had visited in the past. I'm in Carolina beach for the week with my cousin and we wanted to do something that wouldn't be canceled because of the rain, and this worked out perfectly. We got to explore Wilmington and find new, really cool bars that we never would have found on our own. Our tour guide was Steve and he made the tour 1000X better with his amazing dad jokes and so much knowledge on the history he was telling stories about. He was really friendly and every bar tender that he interacted with clearly enjoyed having him there. This might have been my favorite part of our vacation, I think it would be a favorite for anybody! read more

We decided to play tourist in our own town and check out the haunted pub crawl. Went early to request Jamie and he did not disappoint. He is a great story teller, mixing in Wilmington history with spooky tales. Will definitely do again. read more

We met our story teller Steve and he took us on a pub crawl while telling us the spooky history of Wilmington and the reasons for the hauntings. We enjoyed the ambiance of the four pubs and the history behind them. Unfortunately, we did not experience any paranormal activity, but is was still great fun! highly recommended!! read more

Favorite story was of Boss the heroic dog. If you don't tear up your not human. Overall it was a great experience! Our guide(Jamie) was very knowledgable and charismatic. The pubs you visit are really cool places you might pass up if you didn't take the tour. The only downside was the time at each bar. Not a lot thus my wife had to chug her last half of every drink before we left. read more

Had an awesome time last night catching the stories with Steve! Absolutely the best experience in town for the money! Highly recommend it to everyone. Even if, like us, you are from the area! read more

This tour was absolutely amazing! Very fun, and the Tour Guide Jamie was not only very informed, but extremely sharp and entertaining! I will be doing this again for sure and recommend the tour to EVERYBODY!!! Just so happy this exists! Thank you very much Jamie for the amazing and unforgettable experience! read more

This is the second time we've done the Haunted Pub Crawl in Wilmington. Holli was our guide and she was a wealth of information about the history of Wilmington. Her advice on the best beers and where to visit after our tour was done was spot on too! We had great fun doing this and will probably do it everytime we visit the area! read more

Went on the haunted pub crawl tonight with about 10 friends and had a blast. Our tour guide Jamie was fun and animated telling stories about Wilmington's sordid past. We had a really large group, but that didn't detract at all from the experience. I would highly recommend this tour to any adult group looking for a fun time. read more

This was a very fun time! I enjoyed the stories and checking out a few bars around the area! I would recommend in to anyone who is looking to get out of the house and hear hunted stories and drink beer! I would give it 5 stars but the only down fall was the time we had in each place. I defiantly wanted to check out more of each bar. And sometimes it was hard of hear the stories in each spot. It could be loud or just street noise that was distracting. Our tour guide was a 70 year old man, tall and thin with a grey beard- he was awesome! great story teller and wanted us to party too! as always I find in North Carolina people are always nice and easy to talk to! read more

Steve was such a wonderful tour guide. I appreciated his realistic however interesting prospective on this area. Nothing ruins a ghost tour faster then hokey bull and steve was the real deal. Well worth the price paid. Thank you Steve!!!! read more

This is our second tour with Jamie and I must say it was very good. He even managed to get us into all new bars. The tour is worth every penny and Jamie was absolutely awesome. He is very knowledgeable about history and it really helps. If you are ever in Wilmington you have to experience the tour. We come here every year and so far it has been nothing but good read more

Very enjoyable! I recommend going with a fun group that wants to toss back a few drinks. Jamie was a fantastic tour guide & an even more excellent story teller! I've been a local for years and enjoyed seeing new hidden bars I didn't even know were downtown. If you wanna hear some great history while enjoying a craft beer (or whatever suits your fancy) please do the pub crawl! On our particular tour we visited 4 bars and spent about 30-45 mins in each. What was supposed to be 2.5 hrs ended up being around 3 - but our group was perfectly fine with it taking a little longer! Jamie was very knowledgeable & answers your questions with a quirky sense of humor. We saw no ghosts but still had a very memorable experience! And what's great is there are about 10 bars on this tour so if I want to it twice I will see different spots & hear new stories! read more

It was like an awesome history lesson, mixed with haunted stories, mixed with booze. I didn't partake in the drinking, but still had an awesome time. Loved hearing the stories, and we had a great group. The tour guide was filled with knowledge, and when I left, I feel like I took in a lot of history. Loved it! read more
