I wish Lakewood would get their own page for reviews! This is the Anaheim location. 3 years we have been coming to this event twice each season, I load up my SUV and bring my kids, cousins, or friends. They have a great time. Plus, we can get our car washed. Drive slow, eyes open, embrace every minute it will go by fast. We leave the doors unlocked before we go into the water part of it. It is dark, but I do see people park and dry off their car. If kids are scared, we tell them duck and cover!! No, as an adult, you don't get scared, but I always go along yelling and screaming. The scarers are pretty scary looking. They're always in character and put on a great show. The car wash employee scared the ish out of my sister. One moment, he was directing the traffic, and then she looked away, window down when she looked back he had a mask. She literally screamed. It was hilarious. I have to say this year I didn't see my favorite scarer. He was a thin, face white clown, no shirt with suspenders. Ages of the kids 5-18. At least one person is really scared, which, unfortunately, they're victims to our laughs.

We had so much fun! This had to be one of the best Halloween haunted events that we have ever been to! Make sure you keep your doors unlocked for even more fun!

So much fun and the employees do such a great job of entertaining with class. They don't overdo it, like some do.

Every square foot of this haunt is frightfully alive. 17 focuses on great actors and inventive non stop scares with dozens and dozens of monsters throughout all 17 rooms. Makeup and special effects are just amazing. This is a haunter's haunt that attracts the best talent around. Expect to be thrilled, scared, shocked and delighted. These monsters ain't shy, so strap in, you are in for a wild ride! Before you visit any other haunted attractions, visit 17th door first. It's in a league of its own. Sure you can tromp around another huge, overpriced, overcrowded, "just ok" theme park haunt with the same worn out mazes and the same bored rubber masked zombies doing the same tired old pop up gags you see every year, or you can do 17 and see the industry's best veteran scare actors who bring the fright night after night. Easy free parking too right in front of the main entrance. Highly recommend.

That said (and without spoiling a thing), this year's production absolutely exceeded my expectations. No cheesy jump scares here, instead they go straight for the deep seated phobias, the stuff that actually gets under your skin. The execution? Beautifully done. Creative, intense, and immersive from start to finish. Still holding out hope that the Field Trip makes a comeback one day. If I had a magic Halloween genie, that's the first wish I'd cash in. Tips: - whole experience is about 45 minutes long - Wear comfortable shoes, you'll be moving, ducking, and maybe running for your life - VIP tix so worth it if you go when it's packed, you skip the line straight to the front - If you're nervous or easily freaked out, grab the mercy pendant - You might get wet in a few spots, so plan accordingly with your hair and makeup situation - And please, pray with me that they bring the Field Trip back, it deserves a resurrection!!!!

Their only open on certain days and I highly suggest checking out their Instagram @twisted_dreams_haunt which they post their schedule. To enter you simply step in line and as you near the front they hand you a waiver which is for your entire party, once signed you're ready for a super fun adventure! I also love the fact that they send parties in one by one to ensure a full experience. So no jump scares will be spoiled! But because they do this the lines also take a very long time. So I definitely recommend going on the earlier dates before Halloween because the 31st is often super packed.

The whole aesthetic here seems to be a combination of Japanese and Chinese horror which to me is super creepy... i mean, Ju-on (The Grudge)??? I went with a group of four but they only let two in at a time. There was no line which was strange being that it was Halloween night. The staff was really friendly and even asked if we wanted it less scary or really scary. I chose "less scary" because of the two girls with us that were afraid :P‍ That said it was still eerie and had a good amount of scares. The best part is (again) the style of costumes and viewpoint of horror, spirits and ghosts in Asia. I won't spoil the specific scares but there is one part in particular where I had an "oh hell nah!" moment 0_0 The maze seemed kind of short, maybe 7 minutes, but i wasn't counting. There weren't really any extravagant special effects which could be good or bad depending on the person. I feel a haunted house can be good without all of the over-production. That said, this does feel like a lower-budget haunted house, but at $15, I found it to be worth it and my group had fun too I hope this maze gets more business because it could be a little bigger and get more staff for scaring. It's such a refreshing take on haunted houses though and I want this place to be around for more Halloweens!

Almost all of Escapade Games' rooms have a horror element and are obviously targeted towards the colleges nearby, but not only was Rockin' adapted to accommodate parties of two; for this season, it was themed to fit the holidays. We also got a very pleasant surprise when it came time to pay for our online reservation: it was half the price of a standard room for a party of 8! This was a (happy) shock because we are used to paying for 3 or 4, even though we are a duo. The 2025 Pineapple Express had slowed to a steady trickle by the time we arrived at Escapade Games Christmas Eve after a music-less British pub lunch less than a two-minute drive away. The cavernous restrooms, located outside the lobby, were clean, and the lobby looked like it was in the midst of some renovation, but another game was going on, and since we already filled out our waivers, we settled down to wait for our game to start. And waited. And waited. And waited. When we finally started our hour-long game, after the technical difficulties were resolved and the game rules reminders given, all was forgiven very fast: as a bonus to playing a game that was getting ready to be put out of commission, we could take unlimited photos in the room! And there was so much to do in the music-themed room: even though not all the instruments were playable, and there were still minor glitches as we were playing, Joey was a terrific game host - he, too, made a quick recovery from the technical issues and was as determined as we were to have a phenomenal game. There was no timer in the room, but going by our photos, we were done in 52:48, with a lot of help. Our favourite puzzles had to do with the picks and bands, and playing the instruments to rise back up to the top of the pops as rockstars is such an original theme. The music played put us in the holiday mood - especially "The 12 Days of Christmas". That's probably not our favourite Christmas song, but it helped that I just got done with Susan Stokes-Chapman's holiday short story collection! Rockin' around the Christmas Tree is set to what we consider 3-G (Generation 3, with a lot of computer FX elements) tasks with G-1 locks, and, despite the late start, was very much the best Christmas present to set us off on our holidays! Joey, our heroic gamemaster, was a huge part of the fun game we had. We could tell he had started off not having such a good Christmas because the room's serious technical issues were clearly unexpected, but he fixed everything so that we could have a great time. We eventually realized the fantastic price we paid was not just because our game, unlike other Escapade rooms, did not feature a live actor in the room. Even more importantly, we only found out, after our game, that the room was being taken down to make way for a three-room movie-based horror adventure. We are so, so glad that we got to experience Rockin' around the Christmas Tree before it was dismantled, and keep our fingers crossed it gets a spectacular comeback in the near future (like the rockstars we were supposed to be!) That said, we are looking forward to checking out anything else Escapade Games has to offer - can't wait for more games in 2026! This review is duplicated on Yelp and Google.

Coming back for the updated version, I honestly didn't expect it to top the first one -- but it absolutely did. If you are wanting/expecting a maze then go somewhere else because you won't find that here! The Mist is very different from other haunts this year. The Mist is a very fun and immersive scavenger hunt. Scattered around the second floor of their building are 13 artifacts you must find while and they are not simple finds. My team found 10 (would have been 11 but we found it right as time ran out). The talent scattered throughout were definitely on their A game and knocked it out of the park! I'm generally not that easy of a scare and several of them got me really good, one almost to the floor! Kudos to them! My only complaint really about the event is that because of how much fog is used for the event the floor a get pretty slippery from the residue of their fog but that is why they really stress that you shouldn't run while you are scavenging when they are going over the rules. This is different from other haunted mazes that I have been to because they actually have vendors here and a live band playing. This is held in what was formally a Macy's...which adds to the creepy factor. There is also two scare zones that you walk through on the first floor. There is a total of three mazes...one on each floor. The first floor maze was one of the best mazes that I have ever been through. It is very interactive and personal. I like that you are not herded through like cattle which takes away the scary factor. This maze made me face my claustrophobia fears and once I made it through I was half filled with anxiety and half filled with thrill. Needless to say, we ended up doing that maze again. Actually, we went through all the mazes twice. The other mazes are really cool and the 3rd floor one is also unique in the way that you go through the maze. I won't add any spoilers. I definitely recommend this haunt. They have promo codes and discounts tickets out there and I would look for them, otherwise it's on the pricey side. Happy Haunting!!!
