When you haven't had any days off in months though and your daily routine is getting to you and physically (mentally and emotionally not applicable here because there is alcohol for that), the idea of driving down to Wildwood with the possibility of swinging by AC, to be on a boat for 2-3 hours is pretty relaxing - dolphins or no dolphins. Getting a Groupon deal on this helped too, although these guys are not expensive to begin with - for two people, it's $35 on Groupon/$76 without. Although there were no whales, we actually did get to see a family of dolphins. Had we not gotten to see them, the tour itself would have been sufficient as well, as we got a pretty detailed tour of Cape May, its surroundings, and some interesting facts about the Jersey wetlands. Like I said - this may sound dull, but when you are on a boat away from work & worries - life is good. They have 3 cruises per day - 10:30, 1:30, and one in the evening. The afternoon cruise is a bit longer and features free hot dogs !!!!!!! OMGFJSDFLKJ1111!!!! With free afternoon hot dogs, a friendly crew, and an excuse to go down to AC - what more do you need?

This is NOT deep sea fishing -- and you will probably NOT take whatever you catch because it will be too small. But if trawling the 12 foot bay with 2 baited hooks on a basic rod/reel rig with the occasional hit interests you -- this charter could be your thing. The Groupon price point is quite reasonable. Captain Tony is an engaging and hospitable host and his new pontoon style boat is steady and accommodates a dozen plus very comfortably. That's about the complement we had on our morning excursion and this is the first year he is running this boat in Cape May. Top Tip: Great for kids who have never fished before -- they will land something -- we all did -- mostly baby sea bass and mud sharks. The crew is helpful and the experience pleasant.

The captain and mate were very helpful, explained how to fish, and knew a lot about the wildlife. The tour can hold 49 and there was 14 on the boat so there was plenty of personal interaction. Overall, this was a 5 Star trip. What I liked: Crew good with kids Crew always helping someone Reasonable price Dropped a crab trap on the way out (kids got to pick the spot) What I did not like: Sea bugs all over (crew offered big spray which helped) Catch more fish

Made a reservation in February, paid full value of stay in June. After seeing bad weather day of reservation decided to cancel stay. Understanding policy is there would not be refunds at this point, but asked if the amount paid over the deposit could be returned or used as a deposit for a future visit, as was more than needed to be provided at booking. Expectation being just the deposit would not be refunded. Management called back, citing they do not do refunds and that the delay in paying for the reservation was a rationale for not returning the amount over the deposit value. Didn't seem correlated, they became combative and argumentative in an unprofessional manner escalating a situation that was a simple inquiry as to whether anything accommodating could be done. Just a simple warning don't pay more than the deposit as management will take your money and be angry if you ask for any of it back.

So, probably since the 1970s. That is about 40 years! We have always felt happy about our time here, and it was a convenient place to stay close to the beach. We went from tent camping, to pop-up trailer, to a 32 foot trailer, which was an exciting leap for our family. The reason why I write this now is I still get mad as I drive past their location. The way it works is that if you own a seasonal trailer you make a deposit in winter. My parents did that. In 2020, of course no one knew what was going on. My parents as usual had asked if they could delay payment when they were collecting early that year until we could find out what the beach was doing. They were told no. So, we made the deposit. In June -July most of the beaches were basically closed down or minimal options to go on the beach or anything. We asked them if we could wait to still see what the beaches were going to do when we needed to make the full season payment. They basically told us "PAY UP OR GET OUT!" For years of loyalty, this is quite sickening. They gave my parents a week to get their trailer off the property and so we ended up having to sell it for a cheap amount because we didn't have anything to trailer it, and they wouldn't let us leave it on their property. They were unwilling and in my opinion extremely selfish to refund any or even part of our deposit. And what makes matters worse, if they weren't even willing to do that, they didn't even kindly offer as an alternative to comp a certain amount of stays there till it made up for the deposit. All, I can say is that I feel after this that they treat their customers like dirt because of their GREED.
