3 hour boat ride was amazing. Wish it was longer. Family trip to go see all the dolphins. We didn't see any whales though. Also a pretty big boat. Wear some sunscreen and you may want to consider bringing a jacket. The wind gets chilly. Very enjoying and will try this again. read more

Dolphin/Whale Watching - not sure about you, but to me - sounds as exciting as watching grass dry and paint grow. When you haven't had any days off in months though and your daily routine is getting to you and physically (mentally and emotionally not applicable here because there is alcohol for that), the idea of driving down to Wildwood with the possibility of swinging by AC, to be on a boat for 2-3 hours is pretty relaxing - dolphins or no dolphins. Getting a Groupon deal on this helped too, although these guys are not expensive to begin with - for two people, it's $35 on Groupon/$76 without. Although there were no whales, we actually did get to see a family of dolphins. Had we not gotten to see them, the tour itself would have been sufficient as well, as we got a pretty detailed tour of Cape May, its surroundings, and some interesting facts about the Jersey wetlands. Like I said - this may sound dull, but when you are on a boat away from work & worries - life is good. They have 3 cruises per day - 10:30, 1:30, and one in the evening. The afternoon cruise is a bit longer and features free hot dogs !!!!!!! OMGFJSDFLKJ1111!!!! With free afternoon hot dogs, a friendly crew, and an excuse to go down to AC - what more do you need? read more

We jumped on this boat with a Groupon of $65 for 4. This boat had two floors for viewing. The upstairs was open with no top and the first was more enclosed. Yes you have plastic seating but being on one of these before that was expected. While on the ride they did provide some pretty good pizza and hotdogs which were a tad to pale for me. On the ride out the seagulls were truly our best friends. Hovering and hanging on the boat as if they too were passengers. When we got to the open water we were met with a pod of dolphin. Easily over 20 plus dolphins and active jumping in and out the water. Tried to take some pics but the rocking of the boat made me a bit sick lol. Talking about sweating and holding it down but I eventually got used to it and was able to enjoy the remaining time. Which by the wag its approximately a 2 hour ride. 30 mins out, an hour pretty much stationary in one small area observing the PoD and 30 mins back in. Overall, not a bad experience and we took the 6 pm ride which was full of Dolphins. In addition , an amazing sunset to enjoy and a nice breeze to keep you awake. (Bring a sweater) read more

RUN!!!!!!!Owner was extremely rude. I was discriminated upon and treated like a second class citizen. I've NEVER dealt with something like this. Customer service is awful. Go to the other whale watching same price without the rude owners. Lastly, after waiting four hours owner refused to give me a refund. A waste of money and time; I am extremely disappointed. Overall the trip is decent... I've been on this trip multiple times and always saw dolphins. However, this weekend we were there for the 1pm trip on Saturday and ended up waiting 45 minutes at the dock for a group to show up. Unfortunately we were only told once at about 1:10pm that we would be waiting "a few minutes" and didn't get anymore information until the group boarded. In turn, they gave us each a free bottle of water which really didn't cut it and ended up with only a 2 hour trip (when it was advertised for 2.5 to 3 hours). Very disappointed in how the situation was handled. read more

Meh. I had high expectations, maybe too high. Seats were extremely uncomfortable, old plastic chairs. For such a long ride seats should be comfy. Kids running around not listening to the captain. I felt like I was on public transportation. It was a beautiful ride although we didn't see anything more than seagulls. The brochure mentions guaranteed sightings and the 1:30 departure is the best time to go. Ehhh not so much. read more

We always visit The Big Blue Sightseer to take a ride, while on a trip to Cape May and Wildwood. We've never been disappointed!

They took our Groupon reservation 24 hours in advance, as required. Then called 45 minutes before the cruise saying the tour was cancelled, saying Groupon would "probably " refund the w. We have always wanted to do a dolphin cruise and jumped on the opportunity when we saw a groupon. On the ride out the captain gave information about the surroundings. We were blessed to see a ton of dolphins at the south end of Wildwood. Almost as exciting as the Dolphins was feeding the seagulls on the way back. The only complaints I had is that someone was smoking on the boat and nothing was said and some seats were falling apart. Overall, it was a great family experience and I would like to do it again some time. Tips: Wear lots of sunscreen. Snacks and drinks for sale at a very reasonable price. read more

We took our two boys (5 and 9) on this trip last night. It was a calm and beautiful trip. The Captain is a wonderful guy who took the time to reassure my 5 year old that there was nothing to fear. Before we left dock, he took him throughout the boat and showed him the horn, life vests and seating. The trip was just about 2.5 hours. Captain Schumann is a marine biologist and lead the tour. He gave us a wealth of information and you can tell he loves what he does. They provided pizza and hot dogs on the boat and drinks were available to purchase. It is a definite calm and relaxing trip and I highly recommend it. We did the 6pm tour and the sunset was beautiful. Oh and everywhere we turned we saw dolphins! Everywhere! There were pods jumping, playing and flapping their tail fins. We were so close we could see their smiling faces. Very cool and enjoyable trip. I recommend it. read more

I moved from Europe 6 years ago and almost 3 years we were looking for a pet friendly sightseeing boat.Finally we got one ! THE CAPTAIN SCHUMANN'S BIG BLUE SIGHTSEER IS PET FRIENDLY !!! AND ONLY ONE IN THE WILDWOOD AND CAPE MAY AREA!!! AND THEY ARE LOCATED VERY CLOSE TO THE WILDWOOD DOG BEACH WHICH IS NEXT TO BOARD WALK BETWEEN POPLAR and MAGNOLIA AVENUES AND THEY ARE NOT SO FAR FROM AN OTHER DOG BEACH WHICH IS LOCATED NEXT TO CAPE MAY -LEWES FERRY IN CAPE MAY. Captain Schumann is a dog lover and his team too ,they are nice friendly people ,we felt welcomed and comfortable on the boat and we had a great time.The boat is clean ,you can buy a snack or cold drink there,captain Schumann has shared with passengers many interesting stories while sailing ,then we listened to a beautiful relaxing music.Next to the place you have a restaurant and plenty of free street parking,also Wawa,Acme,couple of pharmacies to buy a food for your dog.Make shure your dog did all his business the big one and the small one :) because the trip will take a couple hours and dog will not let you enjoy it and !!!will suffer without a toilet .Also you will need a water and blanket for your dog and definitely you want to sit with your dog on the !!!! lower area onboard ,you have a great view and your dog is in the !!!shade .
