While it screams bar food and bar atmosphere, because it is a sports bar, the food is definitely much better than normal bar food. Get the wings, they are excellent. Great sports bar if you're into hockey or any other sports in the area. They have a very interesting menu full of lots of things I wouldn't have expected to get there. I had the vegetable beef soup which was good although a little bit on the salty side. I also had the chicken wings two different styles I would check them more authentic chicken wings which they're the ones they want awards for which were the best. Hubby and I were on the hunt to catch the Miami football game with a side of wings and a friend recommended Hattricks and she nailed it. This spot screams sports! Lucky for us Miami played Friday night and we made it just in time for happy hour (4pm-8pm dine in only). Long review ahead...First time in Tampa, first time going to Hattricks. Uber driver recommended it and I looked it up on TikTok and it seemed pretty good! My husband loves wings and I saw a Reuben on the menu so I felt it was a good place to go. WRONG. It started with location, we just didn't like the location and gps was confused but that's not really their fault. BUT then parking was a problem. It was not easy to pay for parking and even though we paid for parking we still got a ticket. We got into the restaurant and there's was a sign at the table about parking so my husband then paid for parking, the app said 6:45 the payment was made. We got back to the car and the ticket said it was issued 6:44. So a minute before we paid, which was only maybe 5 minutes after parking, we had gotten a ticket! Give us a chance to pay goddamn. Again, that is not exactly Hattricks fault, fine. Upon going in, it looks really cool and fun, however the hostess looked like a high schooler with no clothes on lol FINE. I get it, I get the appeal of having young girls at a sports bar, I do. But please for the love of god teach them about service. Our waitress was so soft spoken we could barely hear her and she was MIA the whole time. I don't know her name because I couldn't hear. It was very loud in there, again I get it, it's a sports bar, happy hour, etc I get it but then they need to be able to speak up. I'm not even old but I felt so old asking her to repeat herself. The wings my husband got were pretty good he said. He liked the mild buffalo over the garlic parm. He said the ranch dressing was disgusting though. It was super thick and weird tasting. The woman at the table next to me said the same thing to the waitress. She had to ask if it was actually ranch. I'm surprised I could even hear her ask this but I was glad to know we weren't the only ones thinking it! My Reuben was barely a Reuben. There was no joke a tiny circle of sauce on the bread, no sauerkraut and no cheese. It was just a little meat, bread and a drop of dressing that I guess was thousand island? I never complain about food in the moment for fear of them putting spit or hair in it but I was so close this time. How do you have a Reuben with little meat and no sauerkraut and cheese?! And dry ass hell with no dressing!? So disappointing considering every other restaurant we went to during our stay was absolutely wonderful. It took entirely too long to get the check and every time our waitress gave us anything she just tossed it on the table and ran away. I don't know if she was being rude or just terrible at service. I'm sure this place does well but it's probably entirely because of the hot girls working there. Very crowded and bustling. If you are looking for a quaint quiet place for lunch....avoid Hattricks. Given that it is just off the bay in Tampa, the atmosphere and crowd should be expected. Due to the atmosphere, the waitresses don't spend much time at your table (and sliver of space) but our waitress was very attentive. She kept our glasses full and we never had to look to get her attention. The waitress dress as you would expect for the location. All female. All pretty. All a little more than scantily clad. This particular was crowded due to a national cheerleader conference going on at the Convention Center located nearby. I was a little hesitant about how long it would take to order, so I took a chance and sat at the bar. Needles to say the service was seamless and quick to my surprise. I asked my server for menu suggestions, and she raved about the lemon pepper grouper bites. So I gave them a try, and they were amazing and fried to perfection. (From March, 2022) Found this place by accident but turned into one of the highlights of my trip to Tampa! As I continued my trek from the hotel through the downtown area, local yelpers mentioned this place as a spot for wings. Since it was off Franklin street, it was about a 10 minute walk; not too shabby as I enjoy walking the streets of Tampa. Upon arriving, I ordered a couple bloody mary's before browsing the menu. Wings were on the first page and I went with those, not even bothering to look at the rest of the menu since they smelled amazing as I saw an order of them go by. With an order of 10 wings Buffalo style, I dug in as they arrived and couldn't be more satisfied by the tenderness, fall off the bone, and heat of the sauce with the bleu cheese to dip. Plenty of tvs for sports watching and people are friendly. Chatted up a senior citizen couple next to me who live in Tampa as they moved from Indianapolis; Hattricks is one of their favorite places since the servers/bartenders know them and they enjoy their local beers and cheese fries. Ten of them, "Dave's Way" which is apparently shaken and baked and then tossed in a parmesan? They were quite good. Service was excellent. Hattricks employs pretty girls who show a lot of skin. It's not as obvious as Hooters or as over-the-top as Twin Peaks but it's there. Our waitress was attentive and checked in often enough to ensure that we didn't need anything and then quickly brought another round of drinks when we did. On a Monday night with a Buccaneers home game getting started, the place was PACKED with football fans. Nicks is a fun place to watch a game. They have lots of TV's and more than willing to put on a game for you. The building has an old brick interior which is very nostalgic. The place is clean and organized. It might be a bit tight on seating but generally comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There was plenty of servers to keep things moving. There must be plenty of food prep folks as the food moved quickly. We started with the Italian Egg rolls. The exterior was mildly crunchy and only slightly greasy. The interior was stuffed with finely ground Italian seasoned meat. The meat is tasty without having a strong Italian flavor. Definitely light on the spicy taste. The small dish comes with a cup of marinara for dipping. Nice appetizer! My wife really liked the Turkey wraps. She said the wrap tasted fresh and was light. The super nachos looked delicious even though I did not try them. I orders the garlic Parmesan wings. These are advertised as the best in Tampa. There were 10 wings in my $19 order. The wings were rather small and not very meaty in general. The seasoning was baked on well and definitely not "saucy" like some places. I thought they were awfully dry because of this. I also thought the seasoning was very light and difficult to detect. In general...I was disappointed in the best wings in Tampa. Went here for lunch after hearing good things about it. This is a very hockey themed bar with delicious food. I really enjoyed the decor and atmosphere. There were lots of things on the menu that we wanted to try. I ended up having the Buffalo wings and potato salad. My friend got the fish and chips. We also had the egg rolls. The egg rolls are almost like a sausage cheese stuffed roll. They are very good! They come with a side of marinara. The wings were big and tasty. Potato salad was tasty too. Talk about an old school building with solid brick walls and high windows. The place is organized chaos and since we went before a hockey game it was packed. Nice text to phone reservations and only a 15 minute wait unlike when we left the waiting line was "long". It's loud and energetic and the wait staff is totally attentive and on top of things.
