Still, this is a very minor nitpick in what was otherwise an excellent experience and got my excited to surf again sometime.

She was just wonderful in every way and we saw so many Alligators! For the Biollumenesense adventure Sonia was our guide. The sound is 1' to 3' deep so tip overs (if they were to happen) are not going to happen in deep waters. The kayaks are light - my wife nor I had any issues being the main paddler - we each had a kid in helping. We saw some fish, pelicans, and many sea gulls during our two hour rental. We dropped anchor (me holding onto the kayak) and got out and walked / played in the water midway as well. See my pics, this was a great time in the calm sound side waters. They close at 5pm most days so plan accordingly.

Rental rate for wave runner is slightly discounted if staying on camp site ($55 for half hour jet ski but can't go too far north/south of the sound) Stayed at camp site #7 which has a view of the sound. Strong wind coming in from ocean side so make sure you have something solid to prevent the tent from blowing in (I used coolers).

We saw 4 of them during the trip, guess it was too hot for them to come out of water (Aug, 80-90F sunny days). The later half of the trip would require some kayak skills to turn, zigzag, etc...wish we, the beginners, would have more time to practice...Rebecca is great to work with, she tried best to accommodate everyone's needs, just a large group to handle with different kayak skill level (8-9 kayaks, 13-15 ppl). Make sure to bring waters sun screen and bug sprays. Telescope can be helpful on the river to identify the gator( they are camouflage masters on water), lots of time you can see the head, nose and eyes.

He started out by packing up his jet ski and bringing me out to a small deserted stretch of beach to inflate the kite. then he demonstrated how to launch and do everything else in the proper fashion, and then Coach me as I practiced, following me around with the jet ski. He also rents kayaks and stand-up paddle boards and he has a paddle board sunset tour. Of the three lessons I've had in the past Dane was the best instructor of all of them. I highly recommend him.

My extended family and I went to North Beach Watersports during our 4th of July vacation to OBX to…read morerent jet skis. The location was beautiful- right on Currituck Sound and only steps from our rental house. The girls at the check in counter were friendly and bubbly. There isn't much to the facility itself beyond a little check in booth and a long dock with a gazebo at the end to wait to jet ski. The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable, & physically fit- something you're hoping for when it comes to the team of people who will be monitoring you and potentially saving one's life. The instructors were very clear with the rules and helped some of our first-time jet skiiers in the party learn to operate the jet skis with ease. They have people helping you out on the water, ensuring you don't go past the buoys. It's easy to get lost out in the sound, and the workers are very quick to politely guide you back to the right area. Everyone in our party had a wonderful time on their newer jet skis. The only qualm I have was my particular jet ski had a HEAVY left lean, which made it impossible to go past 45 mph. I've ridden on many jet skis in my life, and none have ever had such a discrepancy. I still very much enjoyed my time, and no one else in my party had such an issue. It must have been an unfortunate one-off. For the cost and time out there, (approx $90/hour), it was well worth the money and time. An hour was more than enough time to enjoy the experience with 2 people on the jet ski. We were able to split our time so one of us drove half the time and the other rode on back, then switched. Currituck Sound is deep enough to be enjoyable, but if you fall off or switch places, you can touch the sand with your toes. That makes it SO much easier to climb back on board. HIGHLY recommend North Beach Watersports for your jetski rental place.
