A nice variety of head coverings at this beachfront shop. Including a fantastic mega floppy hat that Lydia Deets would covet.

Nice guy but almost bought a hat that they were charging 20$ more than any other store. Tourist trap

Had a super fun ladies' outing today at this truly special place in San Luis Obispo where you can…read morehave a private party to customize your own hat, along with some of your best friends. Imagine having a hat that no one else on the planet has?? The experience included champagne and two different plates of charcuterie!! Everyone used their creativity to build their own final product. What a wonderful concept!! Kate's staff spent considerable time with each of us to help make our individual accessory choices come together to produce our amazing, individual creations. With choices ranging from feathers, to pins, ribbons, leather cords, glitzy chains, animal print bands, playing cards, strips of lace and flowers...you can go as simple or ornate as you want. Each person pays for their hat and its accessories (so the more ornate you go, the more you'll pay and keeping the decor more simple will correlate to a lower price). There are hat styles and sizes to fit everyone...colors from cream, hot pink, blue, shades of brown, green, dusty rose, grey, black and cinnamon. You can even add initials in a 'brand' to your hat. The coolest thing is that these are privately booked events, so the focus is on you and your group (no walk-ins to disturb or distract from your experience). I can't recommend this experience highly enough and hope they stay in business for many years to come (as I suspect the next nearest state that offers something like this may be Texas)!

Footseas - I saw this blouse and had to have it! I like it with jeans but I know it will be great with a skirt too.

Flip flops, t-shirts, straw hats, and easy cover ups are heavily featured. Footseas fits in to that vibe, and takes it up a notch. The exterior walls of the shop set a seafaring tone with painted murals. Window displays feature some of their favored items, like hats, which drew me in. I didn't end up finding a new hat to love, but I did enjoy browsing all the color-themed racks of ladies' clothes. The store goes back much deeper than i expected, so there was a lot to see. I ended up selecting an adorable mermaid tee for our granddaughter, plus a fun top for myself, and a printed scarf. Visually, the displays offered a pleasing palette of visual treats. A new sales associate was undergoing training, so I got double attention at check out time. Deducting one star as there were several other items I liked, but my size was sold out. I'd still plan to check them out on a return visit.

It was pretty early on a Sunday and at the time they were one of the few shops that were open. I began talking to the employee and lo and behold the employee was the owner. I mentioned to her that since I was a kid my family would make annual trips to Pismo and we always came into her shop because it was "cool" and wasn't like anything we had in the Valley. This tradition has been going on for 39 years now. I mentioned to her that since having my own son (9y/o) he loves to go in and check out the merch. He had been looking for a Joe Montana jersey and during this particular visit and the one prior, the store was out of stock. The owner was nice enough to ask for my phone number and said when they got a new shipment she would let me know. Well, she held true to her word and contacted me about a week ago. We conversed via text and I asked for shipping details, price, etc and she was gracious enough to ship me the jersey and it arrived within a couple of days. The point of this post is that The Sports Forum is unlike any other sports memorabilia store you'll fined in or out of the area. The fact that the owner went out of her way to contact me and take the time to ship me the jersey speaks volumes of her and her business. I'd shop here or contact the Forum before going to a large chain store (i.e. LIDS) for their uniqueness, hospitality and prices. Thank you again and we hope to pop in soon!
