David the owner responded quickly to my request for a quote through Yelp and had an appointment for an in person quote within a few days. He came to my home and is very knowledgeable and gave realistic expectations about the work & prep that would be needed to get the job done correctly. He had the quote to me within a day and it was very detailed so I knew what work was being quoted and the breakdown of the cost. I really appreciated those details. We moved forward with hiring him and scheduled time for him to start. He showed up on time everyday and worked hard all day (with a lunch break of course!) He is definitely detail oriented. David and his crew are top notch professionals. The first time I used them they painted my kitchen cabinets. Cabinets were really nasty from previous owner. Dirt, grease and whatever that other stuff was. I have a very large kitchen with LOTS of cabinet and drawers. They set up shop in my back yard and started with the sanding of all. After that, they primed then painted. I'm not sure the type of paint they used but let me tell you, it's indestructible. I have a dog that paws at the lower cabinets and they haven't scratched in 2 years and it's sooooo easy to clean. Just wipe with a damp rag. I used Hathaway again when it was time to paint said house. The house had badly peeling paint over stucco with several cracks. They spent about 2 days just getting rid of the peeling paint. Then they sealed the cracks. Paint job was so clean. No overspray anywhere and cleanup was meticulous. I also had David sand down my wood garage door. It is a Spanish Mediterranean style with detail. He took off all the metal hardware (38 pieces in all) and took it down to the raw wood. Then restained it. It's gorgeous and I get so many compliments on it as well as the house. Don't be fooled by other contractors "I can beat that price". Get the job done right the first time and have Hathaway do your work. No one better. David has my reference info.
