Veteran owned & managed - great people! I've been here no less than a dozen times (what took me so long to post a review???) - I personally am not a beer person, but I've ever heard anyone find a beer they didn't like here. For non-beer drinkers, they do have cocktails & sangrias. I recently had the cherry limeade cocktail- I hope it stays on the menu. They've started providing food - yum!!!!! We had the pizza, pretzel w/ cheese & mustard, & cinnamon sugar pretzel. Everything was Perfect!! Cinnamon sugar pretzel was gone in minutes. Brilliant idea: you can order from Sky Fox & it'll be delivered to Hatchet. As you walk in, there is a person from Sky Fox who will take your order from the menu. (I don't know the days & hours this is available - but it was available during Thursday Trivia). Btw: they're dog friendly!!!! read more

They mainly have pizza plus their pretzel.. but if you would like some food food there is a restaurant down the street you can order some limited food from. There's a person who is sitting at the front taking orders for you and they will deliver it for you. We sat outside bc the weather was perfect.. before we left they were playing music bingo. read more

Love this place. We go here all the time with our two Huskies and everyone is so friendly and goes out of their way to make sure our dogs have water and get some pets. They love it here too. Such a great vibe and the beer is great too. Bromosas and scones were delish. Love supporting local! read more

This place does things right! From the beer to the service to the ambience, it is perfect. I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon when a group of friends. Early afternoon, there were other patrons but it wasn't too busy. As the day progressed and into the evening, it got more and more busy, as you would expect for a Saturday. You can tell that this place is a local staple to the nightlife scene, as they have various activities each night. On Saturdays, there was a food truck outside and they played music bingo. Our initial goal was to try every beer on the menu because we had heard so much about the different options. We failed in our mission, but made it pretty far... there are simply too many options to try them all! I lived every beer, but my favorite were the DILLIGAF, the hazy morning, and the combat honey. If you're in the area, you have to check this place out. You will not be disappointed. read more

Quite locally owned brewery serving up great beer. They do events typically Thursday through Saturday and always seem to be a good time. No good but you can order in and they typically have a food truck on site. read more

Hatchet Brewing - DILLIGAF, add a lime and it is even more refreshing - Breweries Near Me - Southern Pines, North Carolina

Super popular brewery with a fun kid and dog friendly atmosphere. Bartender were attentive and kept everyone in supply of their beverages of choice. They have a long list of beers, wines, ciders, and frozen slushies. Prices range from $6.50 and up. We like the Belgium Trippel but definitely on the higher price range at $10. I liked the peach wheat beer, the IPA my husband got was not his favorite. Recommend trying a flight to find the beer you like here. read more

Hatchet Brewing - Triple Belgium - Breweries Near Me - Southern Pines, North Carolina

My friend and I walked from Southern Pines Brewing to Hatchet (work off that beer!). It was probably close to a mile. They have outdoor seating with shade, but it was a pretty Sunday afternoon and full. There was plenty of space indoors as they have quite a few tables, but we grabbed stools by the window. They seem to have a decent beer selection for where they're located. You can buy 4-packs, but can't mix and match which I'd hoped for. They have snacks you can buy for $1 (and thank goodness because I was fading) and they schedule food trucks. We both got flights, but the beer was just average. It's worth at least stopping by if you're in the area. read more

I was in the area for my geocaching/adventure lab hobby and loved stopping by this place adjacent to the quaint downtown area. This is one of 3 current breweries in the area. A flight is the usual order and they had plenty to choose from! Stand-outs were the sours and a rye ale. They also had a ample selection of ciders and wines. They had 3 seating choices of bar, table or patio - and railroad entertainments! Don't forget to count the cars! Friendly staff and brewers were on hand to share their vision for their wares and where to find them. It seems their offerings are expanding soon. Definitely worth a visit. read more

Visiting over the holidays, my MIL was excited to take us to the newest brewery that had opened since our last trip - enter Hatchet Brewing. The space is super cute - and SUPER loud - but we were excited to see a variety of beer style offerings on their menu. My favorite part? IT IS DOG FRIENDLY! YES! I was missing my babies back home and Opie served as my surrogate furfriend on this visit. (thanks, Opie and fam!) The beers were pretty good - and they offer flights. My MIL is a wheat beer/light beer person and she thoroughly enjoyed the Shake that Axe Lager. We also liked the Cinnamon Girl and the Fauxtoberfest. The stout was a little sharp for us - but just our opinion. I didn't foot the bill (thanks, hubs!) so I cannot speak to the cost of the beers. No food on site, but menu on the table indicated that you could order in from the nearby Sly Fox for munchies. All in all - we will return when in town again. read more

This Veteran owned brewery was a fun way to start our afternoon in Southern Pines. The service was friendly and the beer was good. I liked the space, there was a good amount of seating available both inside and outside. I had two flights and my husband had 2 pints. You get your choice of 4 beers for the flight, my favorite was the Mike Don't Like IPA(s). If you are in the area, check this spot out. read more

This brewery was recommended to us by a friend so we decided to stop by for a few beers. They have a great selection of beer & wine. Amazing and friendly staff. I wish I would have brought my best friend...my fur baby... because they are dog friendly. They have a good shaded patio outside to hang out. Would most definitely come back and recommend this brewery! read more

Hatchet Brewing - Breweries Near Me - Southern Pines, North Carolina

My fiancé and I come here often! Large indoor space that is extremely dog friendly! They also have a large selection of board games inside. The outdoor patio is great! Plenty of space if you have a big group. Also a good option if you have people in your group that don't like beer as they serve cider and wine as well! Bartenders are always very nice. They also have events going on frequently and there is almost always a food truck! Definitely would recommend checking it out. read more

Hatchet Brewing - Patio area - Breweries Near Me - Southern Pines, North Carolina

Good beer selection. Very popular and good ambiance. However bartenders would talk for a few minutes, and then go somewhere else until your drink was empty. read more

I want to give more stars because the setting is nice and service is great but unfortunately the beer is not good. But to their credit it's not them, there is simply no good beer in this area. If you are a beer snob I recommend you bring beer with you if you are traveling from elsewhere. read more

Just stopped by to try some beer. Wouldn't really say it's my kind of beer but they have a great selection

My husband and I were trying to find a low key, relaxed place in DTSP. We found it! Not only is the owner a veteran but they are dog friendly! We came to celebrate Veterans Day and had a great time and even found a new favorite beer. They have a lot of events and music. The weather kind of sucked but we can't wait to visit during nicer weather or a weekend. We'll be back! read more

Great beer and our bartender Carson was a delight to talk with. He steered us toward some great beer choices.

The Dilligaf lager was light in color and taste without a high alcohol content. I would enjoy another but I'm trying out several places. read more

Hatchet Brewing - a colorful sunset over a patio - Breweries Near Me - Southern Pines, North Carolina

When group comes in your are now on the back burner. Don't matter what is happening, once 30 minute group comes in they automatically are first priority over EVERYTHING. Music bingo was fun though, beer was good. read more

What brewery doesn't have a brewer? Tried to maintain their tap, but they can't supply any beer.

Hardly any food, service was ok, ambiance needs to be more inclusive. I would recommend just sticking to making beer

Great beer, great people, great atmosphere! Love coming and playing board games with friends. Highly recommend the Combat Honey.

If you are looking for great brews and a great social/chill atmosphere look no further! We love that we can either come here with our kids, have a beer and play pinball, or come and just hang out on the porch with other adults. This is a great small town Brewery, you won't be disappointed! read more

This place had a really good vibe and the staff were extremely friendly, professional and accommodating. Also it's a dog friendly establishment. Prices were fair and the selection of home brew wasn't bad at all! read more

New local brewery in Southern Pines. It's been open a couple of weeks and I hope they succeed but they need to adjust their pricing, $8 for a 14 ounce pour is a bit steep for the area. I live in NYC where the average IPA draft beer is $8 but they give you a full 16 ounces. I thought that the idea of a local craft brewery was to promote their product at a fair price? I guess the buildout cost of the place needs to be recouped? Cool vibe with a great outdoor deck space which accommodates dogs. The NE IPA was very tasty but no better than the one at the Railhouse Brewery in Aberdeen which is only $6 for 16 ounces. read more

Love this Veteran owned brewery! Hatchet has a great variety of delicious, cold beer and a great atmosphere. This is my go to spot for Thursday night trivia, the host is fun and energetic and the questions and categories are challenging in a good way. I always recommend Hatchet to anyone visiting Southern Pines! read more

One of our favorite places in Southern Pines! Fantastic selection of beer & wine and such a great atmosphere. Trivia night is always a blast and the new host is hysterical. Yoga at Hatchet on Wednesdays is also super fun and the best workout read more

Never in my life have I enjoyed bar trivia as I don't revel in being made to feel like a moron, HOWEVER, trivia at Hatchet is a welcome reprieve from the norm. The hostess Brady is delightfully entertaining. Quirky banter with the crowd and fun to answer questions make it a great night out. My friends and I always have a great time! read more

Trivia is not great, well, the new host is terrible actually. Trivia night was something to look forward to each week but the new host is combative. The questions do not have one answer and she speeds through them like it is speed dating or something. Get a new host and more people will come. read more

Everything about the Hatchet Brewery is perfect! Their beer is great and they have a wide variety. The atmosphere is for everyone. The staff is engaging. I am a member of the Hatchet fan club after the first visit. read more

love this brewery so much! the beer is great! the atmosphere is fun and the staff is delightful! they always have fun events going on and they even added pinball machines and a slushy machine! food trucks are often in the parking lot .. you can tell that hatchet really cares about creating a fun social environment! they are also veteran owned and operated which makes it that much better! read more

Good beer and decent atmosphere. I prefer Hatchet Brewing's beers to Southern Pines Brewing. However, the in house selection is currently limited to four beers. Hatchet doesn't have its own IPA yet either. However, they have some great guest beers and Hatchet will gradually get more of their own beers as they get up to fully mission capable. You can get food delivered from the Sky Fox, so that's cool. Oh yeah, guy can bring your dog too! read more

We love this place! Great beer and the beer list keeps growing the longer they're open. They have super friendly service and it's a fun atmosphere. Outdoor patio, TVs to watch games, dog friendly, and food delivery menus for several places. A great addition to Southern Pines!!! read more
