The cabin was clean and had lots of things we didn't expect (plenty of cooking utensils, dinnerware, dehumidifier, A/C, etc). The water pressure and hot water were excellent. There's a firepit close to the cabins. Unfortunately, we're city folk and weren't able to get the fire going. Maybe we should have YouTubed it! But it was nice that they had a storage tub full of chairs and a picnic bench. The entrance to the property can be easy to miss because it is at a steep grade, but Wendy and Craig emailed us very specific directions that we printed out and had no problems. Everything was great about our stay. Except for that wasp that wouldn't leave. We also booked a climbing tour through RRO. Dan was our guide and did an awesome job. Highly recommended if you are into climbing but don't have all the gear and/or experience to lead and set.

Fill washer and dryer and very nice sized hot tub. The cabin and its workings just need some TLC to make it a GREAT cabin to rent. The views off the deck are amazing. If it were my cabin I might take a chainsaw to a couple of the trees right off the back deck to open the grand vista there could be of the ridge. All said we're loving our time here and will be back! They suggested I get there before dark to avoid challenges of finding the cabin at night. I appreciated that greatly! When I arrived to the office they said that snow covered driveway may keep me from pulling up to my cabin so they gave me keys to another cabin with easier access. When I got to my cabin, they were right and I couldnt pull up there. I drove to the other cabin (Tranquility Falls) and ended up staying there for the wknd. Cabin in great shape and nessled up against limestone with a beautiful waterfall out back. Will def be coming back!

The whole place was built on a ledge that overlooked the tree filled hills of the red river gorge region . There was also a huge wrap around porch. It was cool but be careful leaning on the edge there might be a few places it's weak. Draw backs... there really weren't many. The first draw back was the place is set up a long steep stairway. It looks small until you are trying to bring your groceries and suit cases up it. Still it's not a big deal if you aren't elderly. The other draw back was the shower, it had a little mold in the corners but over all it was a spacious bathroom with towels and working facilities. We have decided we will be returning to this place and we hope it will be as great as this weekend!

I noticed they use a tennis ball with Lavender Oil for fabric softener. Lavender Oil is used to keep bed bugs away! I also noticed mattress covers wrapped in plastic. This was a red flag and unfortunately I ignored being so excited to have this opportunity. I still accepted the position not knowing how bad the bed bugs were! I moved there in August 2020 where I AGAIN picked up bed bugs. They were even in my car and the rental trailer I leased. I purchased pesticide and worked very hard to get rid of the bed bugs. I am highly sensitive and allergic to bed bugs. I was bitten inside the cabins when cleaning. I tried to come to some kind of agreement for preventative measures with Johnathon Hicks. He had my internet connection turned off then pretended he didn't. Even telling me to unplug and reboot KNOWING it was disconnected. I was 16 miles off the grind all alone with no connection. I had to drive in town to make a call to him. He told me to call their advocate Sharon Keefe to talk the issue over regarding the bed bugs. He told me to call her that day bc she was leaving for vacation the next day. He told me to go back home and unplug to see if I would have a connection. Again, while he ALREADY knew he had it turned off. So I went back to town to call Sharon when he sent a text saying he knew Sharon already left for vacation and they hired someone else! I have NEVER known any employer who would be this cunning and DECEITFUL. Why not just tell me instead of lying and having me run around. He did it on purpose! What immaturity! I was devastated! I had to move again after uprooting my life for this job! I moved back and ever since been fighting bed bugs since August 2020! I have now lost 3 beds and couches and so much more. Jonathon Hicks has denied any issues with bed bugs and completely ignores me. I now have a visible manifestation of the bed bugs. They have spread from the basement (where my br is) to the upstairs. BEWARE of bed bugs and take preventative measures. They do not effect everyone the same. But with people like me who are very allergic are tormented by bites.

Trails around Lago and are not marked but clearly visible. They are very easy trails. Kayaks are available. Lifejackets are available. Propane grills were available on the cabin porches. Just make sure when you check before you get there that you have a full propane tank. Firewood is for sale or you can buy it at the nearby groceries or gas stations on your way in. Speaking of groceries and there's an IGA and Save A Lot within 20 minutes, gas stations, liquor, stores, Family Dollar and there's a downtown Berryville with shops. Farmers markets are seasonal. Check-in is super simple. They will email you a code to get into the door. You don't have to stop by and or check in with the office. We never met the owners. We met personnel on the campground. There's also docks that you can go sit at, gazebo, picnic tables. The actual cabin had towels, hand soap in the bathroom, dish soap, basic pots and pan utensils knives but if you want anything special, I highly recommend you packing it. Definitely want your seasonings food. There's a microwave. There's a coffee pot that uses filters for the 12 cup coffee maker. WiFi Cable tv Fire pit Two chairs on the porch great views There's plenty of sleep space with blankets sheets pillows, comfy couches small shower. Little bit of stairs to walk and drive is about 150 feet, so you get a quick work to be in shape for Martins Fork Trail right next to cabin.

Roaches, roaches and more roaches. At first I thought our standards might be too high. I was wrong…read more Upon arrival it was pretty obvious that the photos left out a lot. The swing on the boulder has virtually no path way and is very difficult to get to. The bedrooms were surprisingly eerie, the dishes were filthy and you could tell it hadn't been dusted in a long time. The shower needs recaulked and there is what appears to be black mold growing where it needs to be recaulked. The wood provided for $25 wasn't great and at no point could we get it to light. We did notice someone else had thrown the same wood piece burned like ours that they couldn't get to light on the side of the house. The stairs to get to and from the car aren't great. The ceiling fans with the lights only worked sometimes. One of the AC units didn't work at all. All of this isn't enough to make me give it two stars. After me and my dog were creeped out by the room on the first night I went to go sleep on the couch but there were too many bugs. It is the woods, so that's to be expected. But what I didn't expect was for me to go up to bunk with my friend in their bed and find a large dead roach that someone had stomped on and left previously. Having been grossed out by that we decided to do a bed bug check. They have no bed protection to prevent bed bugs, and we saw some red flakes on the mattress topper. At this point we both decided to sleep on the couch where we ended up sleeping the entire time. The next morning we went through all of our luggage one by one and bagged everything and carried it to the car one by one to not bring home roaches. This took up the entire day. We decided to reward ourselves with a soak in the hot tub which was the highlight of our trip. Then came the large live roach in the living room. We decided with everything packed up in the car and everything inside packed into bags to get out and see the gorge. Unfortunately for us this was the only day we experienced any of the gorge. We had planned to cook but were feeling uneasy about the roaches but decided I would make one good meal for us. I showered then my friend went to shower and the water ran out. I will say, the most wonderful maintenance man Stuart did his very best to make it easy on us. We were without water from about 8:30 pm till noon the next day. So obviously, no hot tub that night and by the time I had finished cooking and cleaning without water we were both exhausted- so we ended up sleeping (again we were sleeping on the couch) for most of the next day considering we couldn't shower until the water was back on. Stuart was at our place in 25 minutes at 9 pm once he was alerted of the situation. Every number I called led me to another number to call or text and we did get a text reply after the 11th call. We did notice earlier that day that a light under the porch was on before the water went out. It wasn't on previously so we have no idea who was there doing what during our one day out but it was creepy to know that someone had come by and been underneath the house. Stuart brought us two very large water jugs to hold us over and carried them up those stairs at 9 pm the night the water went out. He was back 3-4 times to check on us and update us about the water. He was so sweet, very considerate and we absolutely adored him. He is the reason I'm not giving 1 star and also one of the highlights of our stay there. Obviously it can be a little uncomfortable having a man come to your cabin at night but he was absolutely amazing and we TRULY appreciate how much he cared and updated us. Stuart gets 11/10 in our book! Once the water was back RRG offered us an extra night at a 'discounted rate.' At that point we were already only staying because we paid for it and were already trying to make the most of it. Between the roaches and the water outage, the time spent trying to light a fire and the time spent trying to sleep knowing there's roaches all around you it was a stressful, really crappy excuse for a cabin vacation. We considered leaving several times but toughed it out since we had already spent the time, money and effort to be there. We had a full schedule planned, in the end we only did 2 things we had on our agenda. I can honestly say this was the worst experience I've ever had staying in a cabin and we will never stay there again. We encountered 5 large roaches total. We stayed from Sunday night to Thursday at noon. I would not recommend these cabins ever. Stuart does deserve a raise though as he is awesome! We stayed at Boulder Springs.

So upon arrival, we spoke with a hotel staff employee and they were extremely friendly and very helpful. We decided to look around at the facility and to enjoy some of the beauty around to Hotel. The hiking path was very well maintained and not too challenging. Bathrooms are clean and they have a gift shop. The hike is moderate, so be ready to go uphill and thru a tight rock. I've been here several times, sometimes for just a day, and a few times camping nearby. You can take the sky lift up to the natural bridge, or you can hike up. There is a short trail (1/3 of a mile) that leads to a nice overlook where you can view the natural bridge from a distance. There are birds and wildlife to observe. And it is nice to visit in different seasons. There are good restaurants and touristy places to shop in the area too.
