Drivers all pleasant and friendly. We took more than a dozen rides during a recent stay in Burgess Hill, and every time the cab was bang on time. Finally - every cab was perfectly clean, with no smell of a sneaky smoker. Our final trip was to Heathrow. Their normal fare is £120 - but they do charge a stiff premium on a bank holiday. Not any more!…read more This morning Streamline taxis left my disabled husband waiting in the rain for over an hour, cost him £35 in train fared for a train he couldn't catch, and ruined a much anticipated and needed leisure day after nine extremely difficult months. When I (repeatedly) phoned Streamline to check if there had been in any progress on locating a car, or even an eta, I was told with varying levels of disdain that "journey times aren't guaranteed", despite the fact that we'd booked in advance! When I calmly observed that "I'll show up when I feel like it" is not a business model I was accused of "having a go" at the operator. I understand that a lot of businesses were impacted by lockdown etc, but their attitude is simply unforgivable. I wouldn't trust Streamline Taxis in their current state with any journey that was important to me.

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Roadrunners. Let's start with the good…read more They are cheap.......damn cheap! I mean to this company the after 11pm extra tariff idea just doesn't exist. I have traveled between Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath many times after visiting mates for the evening and had enough change from a tenner to go buy some food. Factor in a shared taxi and it can become cheaper to use Roadrunners than the train. Sadly, now the bad. They can be somewhat unreliable on arriving. Even when you call the depot and are assured "it's on the way. Won't be more than 10 minutes", you can end up in a battle of wills to call someone else or get the taxi you have ordered. The thing is that it's a game of chance. I would say they are about 65% on time to 35% on safari. I guess the saying 'you get what you pay for' is relevant here. I probably wouldn't use Roadrunners if I had a plane to catch or a pre ordered taxi for a late pick up in Brighton, but for nipping across Haywards or a trip to the next town they would still get my custom. The drivers are all a good bunch also and happy to have a friendly chat.

Driver was subsequently messing around with Sat Nav and nearly put us in a ditch. I stated emphatically to confirm the pick-up time when I didn't get the usual text message saying the driver was on his way, 2 mins before the booked pickup time, as usual and if they were going to be later than that tell me so I can make alternative arrangements. I got said text at pickup time. Every operator lied to me, saying cab was 2 minutes away. Had they been honest I could have walked to the station but their lies and ineptitude made me late. The final operator hung up on me when I explained they had screwed up and all I needed was the truth from the outset and I would have been fine. I spent 45 minutes waiting for the next hourly train home. I wont ever use them again for anything time critical. There are plenty of options. Use AroundMe on your iPhone.

Unfortunately the driver did not show the same level of professionalism. We had booked a taxi for 2315 from the Hummingbird Cafe, Shoreham Airport. He finally arrived at 2329. In the meantime we were forced to make alternative arrangements in a hurry because the road into the airport closes for the night at 2330. On arrival he tried to telephone me, understandably upset to have lost his fare due to his lateness. I returned his call explaining what had happened. He denied being late and he became abusive calling me a liar. I subsequently emailed Adur Cabs offering this same feedback and have received no response or apology.
