Absolutely terrible service! Once upon a time you could rely on a streamline booking. Not any more! This morning Streamline taxis left my disabled husband waiting in the rain for over an hour, cost him £35 in train fared for a train he couldn't catch, and ruined a much anticipated and needed leisure day after nine extremely difficult months. When I (repeatedly) phoned Streamline to check if there had been in any progress on locating a car, or even an eta, I was told with varying levels of disdain that "journey times aren't guaranteed", despite the fact that we'd booked in advance! When I calmly observed that "I'll show up when I feel like it" is not a business model I was accused of "having a go" at the operator. I understand that a lot of businesses were impacted by lockdown etc, but their attitude is simply unforgivable. I wouldn't trust Streamline Taxis in their current state with any journey that was important to me. read more

Drivers excellent- but lack of honesty from the dispatch team - ordered a cab 7.43 & told 15 - 20 minutes . waited nearly an hour despite 3 phone calls but no communication before apologetic driver arrived. 747474 That's all you reallly need to know, when it's smashing down with rain and you've just come out of a club. There is another couple of taxi services in Brighton, and I think I should know what the number is, but I don't, and I think this can be in part blamed on the ridiculously easy to remember 747474 sequence. It's not just easy to remember, it's actually hard to dislodge from your head. Takes you all over Brighton and beyond, and it's hard to forget. My only problem is that they are too expensive (but this problem is more to do with Taxi's in general than this particular company). read more

Alan Brien 1925- I bet most taxi drivers have their funny stories about passengers and also some scary ones. The taxi in Brighton are the dearest in the country. They are more expensive than London! I have used many taxi companies in and around Brighton and feel they are about the same quality as each other. So I can recommend Streamline. read more

I only have one problem with Streamline Taxis: Will somebody please pick up the phone???? Either that or employ some more staff to answer! When you can get through, Streamline are a fantastic taxi company with clean cabs and friendly drivers. The only problem is, you can call 5 or 6 times in a row without getting through and when you're in a hurry, it's easier to call another company. I love the number - 74 74 74, and how it's sposed to sound like 'send for send for send for' - genius! Although it's not so good now as the company has merged with another and is also on 20 20 20. Why more numbers?! Ah well. The company itself is pretty good - reliable, quick to come out, and cheap with a short journey costing £5-7 (well compared to Bristol where rip off taxis standardly charge £30 for a 15min journey, cos I lived out in the country apparently - grrr!). read more

When calling to book a taxi, the agent on the phone got the address wrong and could not find it, after repeating 3 times that it was "Avenue" and not "Road" they said the taxi was booked and gave me a price of £15. I got a call back saying they made a mistake on the price and it would be £29 instead of £15. They called ma back later as the driver could not find us at the address, they still had registered "Road" instead of "Avenue"... I called them back after a while as the taxi did not arrive, they checked the address with me and still had the wrong address booked and they finally booked it right. I asked for the price again and got told it was by the meter but would be "around £15". The taxi finally arrived, I told the taxi driver that the last price I was told was "around £15" and asked him to confirm, he checked the addresses and said it would be £29 he said had nothing to do with the Brighton Streamline Taxi company regarding payments and advised to see directly with them for a refund as he had to collect the £29. The taxi driver also said that it was not the first time that they have given him an incorrect address and he had to waste time trying to find the correct one. I called back the company whilst in the taxi and the consumer agent was unwilling to listen so I asked to speak to a manager. John, who would not give me his last name, told me that he could not give us a refund for the difference despite all the errors they made and the fact that the last price given to me on the phone was "around £15". I could go on and on with more details about how unhelpful and inconsiderate the consumer service was but the main issue here is giving the consumer a final price and making them pay double price for a mistake they made and were not willing to get responsible for. Compared to taxi companies I've used in different cities, this is the most appalling. It runs on a meter even if you book ahead. So it always turns out to be expensive, and you will find them slowing at traffic lights hoping it will change. We called for a taxi to pick us up from the pier. They said it would be there in 10-15 minutes. We were told it stops outside the sea-life centre. However, the taxi pick up point is actually outside the Harvester round the corner. We saw a taxi pull up outside the restaurant after FIVE minutes, and we started to walk round to it. after a minute, it then pulled away! Even though we were told 10-15 minutes! My Fiancé phoned them up again to ask what the problem was. They said because we weren't there, he left! We explained that they said 10-15 minutes AND that they'd said it's outside Sea-Life, but they said You were not there!. The nerve! We were struggling to get a taxi to Talk Of Tea, as when we said it on the phone, the person booking simply accepted it, however when we got in the taxi they asked where we were going, and had no idea where it was! The taxi ended up taking us half a mile down the road before realising they had gone the wrong way! We refused to pay what was on the meter, and paid what we felt was fair. One time, the driver was smoking inside the taxi! I was gobsmacked!! We only had one pleasant driver, who is the reason for the star I've given. read more

Absolutely the most unprofessional taxi service I have ever come across. Their concept of customer service is seriously flawed. The person answering the phones should be fired. He does not know how to handle customer complaints without being rude and obnoxious. read more

When it comes to getting a cab in Brighton or Hove, Streamline Cabs get my vote. 747474 is the only number you need. I like the fact that they have a good system and they get to know you and they also offer a ringback service. Call a cab, and when it has arrived, they ping you. Genius. Even when you preorder a cab (in this case 40 minutes before pick up) they were over 10 minutes late, even though I had also said it was to catch a train. This is not the first time. Its bad enough having southern rail screwing with our lives everyday but getting a private cab on time shouldn't be this difficult. read more

Worst taxi company ever. I called them, and they were on time, they said 20 mins and they were early and I was in a busy club, went to get the taxi, and it drove off only after about a minutes of waiting. And considering I was trying to get out of a busy club. Then I called for another one which never came and then I called to ask where it was and the man I spoke to was so rude to me, like it was my fault.
