Excellent, stress free experience. Good prices. Got it delivered the next day. Removed the old mattress at no extra charge.

I bought a Stearns & Foster Lux Estate Baywood Luxury Firm Euro Pillowtop Queen Mattress at…read moreSteinhafel's Mattress store in Grafton, WI in October 2018. It cost about $2,000 but I was willing to spend the money for a good mattress. Unfortunately this mattress started sagging within a couple months. It hasn't even been two years and I'm thinking about needing a new one. My previous mattresses, none of which cost more than $1,000, lasted at least 10 years. I'd recommend avoiding a Sterns & Foster mattress.

I purchased a new mattress last March from the Grafton store. I voiced my concerns to the salesman…read morethat I had an antique bed, and I wasn't certain that the mattress would fit the frame, and that I had an old house, and wasn't certain that the delivery men could get it up the stairs (its only a full sized mattress) and I was assured it wouldn't be an issue. IT WAS. After helping the deliverymen struggle for an hour to get the mattress and spring up the stairs, we found out it wouldn't fit my bed, and I wasn't about to have them haul it back down. I had to have custom footboards made for my bed NOW THAT ISN'T THE MAIN ISSUE A year and half later, the mattress has turned to jello, with no support. When I purchased the mattress, I was told I had to purchase their mattress protector in order to receive the warranty. They sent a technician out to look at the mattress, and there is a small blood stain the size of a quarter on the mattress, which according to them, voids any responsibility they might have. I would have to contact the mattress protector company. They don't have a phone number for the company; only an email. I ve looked on the company's website, none there either. I emailed the company; no response. I ve contacted Steinhafels 2x and asked to speak to a manager; none have gotten back to me. Am I out of line to think that if I am to required to buy a mattress protector through them (at a hefty markup, I m sure), that they should have contacts at the company, or work with me? I went somewhere else to buy the replacement mattress

The delivery person, Luis, and his partner were great. They arrived on time and had everything set up very fast. Both guy's were very friendly and hard workers. She clearly only cares…read moreabout getting a sale, and steering customers towards stuff she wants to sell, and not what they want to buy. She talked down her own merchandise that we were interested in, and pushed us towards her store brand or stuff that was way out of our fully disclosed price range. One mattress we looked at was a Nectar, and she said it wasn't good and was "basically for college students only." When we laid down on it, it wasn't bad. But after getting such a bad feeling talking to her, we went to a WG&R store and laid down on another Nectar mattress and it was amazing. They clearly don't highlight those things in her store. We asked about another brand of mattress the store carries, but they didn't have any for us to try. She said they were garbage, so she didn't want to have them in her store, and tried to tell us that no matter what reviews we read about online, her information was better and more accurate because it was based on science and data, not just opinions, and she doesn't sell mattresses that aren't good. Basically, if she doesn't like a mattress, it must be bad and why would anyone else want it. She's right, you're wrong. She's an expert, you're an idiot. Not a good experience.

I am amazed at how a company in such a commoditized business as selling mattress can CLAIM that…read morethey differentiate themselves with customer service but can then fail in nearly every aspect of customer service. I went to the store in early February looking for the firmest mattress money could buy, and the store manager, Shah, pointed me to the Stearns and Foster "Adele" model. Did some quick research from my iPhone while in the store, and found a better price on 1-800-Mattress.com, and Shah agreed to beat it by matching the price and waiving his delivery fee. (Side note: It's not easy to price shop mattresses. The big mattress makers like Stearns and Foster assign a different name to the same mattress at each retailer, to prevent you from comparing mattresses in an apples-to-apples fashion. So the "Adele" model that I wanted might be called Pauline or Maxine at another store. Apparently Stearns and Foster doesn't believe in capitalism.) I confidently strut out of the store, excited to tell my girlfriend we are getting a new ultra-firm mattress, and that our back pain would soon be no more. Boy was I wrong. The mattress was to be delivered that weekend. The day before delivery, Brian, another store employee, called me to inform me there was a mixup at the warehouse and the mattress wouldn't be delivered that day. He said it could be delivered two days later instead. I acknowledged and was still a happy customer. He calls me back later that day to leave a message saying: "Oops, I made a mistake. Our delivery company doesn't go as far north as you are on Sundays, so we can't deliver to you then." Days go by and I hear nothing further as to when the mattress will be delivered. Just as I'm about to call and cancel the order, Shah calls, apologizes profusely, and offers us a discount and some free pillows to keep my business. I agree, and the delivery date is scheduled again for a week later. The delivery day arrives, and Shah calls again, this time saying the delivery has been cancelled due to inclement weather. He offers another discount in order to keep my business, and once again, I foolishly agree. Delivery is re-scheduled for a few days later, with a window of 5PM to 9PM. It's now he evening of our highly anticipated mattress arrival...we're excitedly buzzing about the house, dreaming of...well, the sweet dreams we're going to have on our new ultra-firm mattress. 6PM, then 7PM, then 8PM, then 9PM, then 10PM, and no phone call and no sign of the mattress. The next morning I'm fuming, and as soon as the store opens, I call, and am greeted by Dan. I explain to Dan that a mattress that was supposed to be delivered last night failed to show, and there was no news regarding any local mattress nappings. Dan's response "Umm, okayy, let me take your number down and get someone to call you back, because I'm pretty useless." I wait a few hours, and to my utter outright shock (sarcasm), nobody calls me back. I call again. Brian answers, because Shah is apparently on vacation. Since Useless Dan obviously didn't communicate my issue to Brian, I repeat the entire story to Brian. Not only is Brian unaware that a delivery was scheduled to my house the prior night, he is also unaware of any delivery failures. He does, however, promise that he'll look into it and get back to me. An hour later, Brian calls saying that the prior night's delivery failure was due to the delivery company not being able to find a box for the mattress. WOW. Imagine your pizza delivery company canceling your order telling you "Sorry sir, we don't have a box for your pizza, and our delivery guy gets hives if he makes bare skin contact with pizza crust." Brian offers to have the mattress delivered that night. I tell him that at this point, I expect the mattress for free. Brian explains that he doesn't have the power to do that for me, but he'll have the district manager call me to discuss the matter. The mattress did arrive that evening, but no phone call was ever received from the district manager.

Salesman = 5 Stars Delivery = 2 Stars…read more 3 Stars = A-Ok - That's my rating because of the following: My salesman was Ben and he is a genuine person. That's what I got from him in our conversation and that's why I bought a mattress from him. In addition, he worked with me in regard to my budget and didn't try to upsell or pressure me at all, even when I thought that I needed a mattress for more. I think that I got exactly the right mattress and didn't feel, in the slightest, ripped-off etc. This is why I would recommend to others MF and Ben, in particular. The other salesmen may be equally as good, but my experience was with Ben. I went across the street to Steinhafel's and I will admit, the salesman there also gave me a good price and didn't try to jerk me around or upsell me in regard to finding the right mattress for me. He wasn't quite as personable though and when I called Ben to discuss the mattress again, he closed the deal for me. Now, on the delivery side is where I would say MF needs to improve. The delivery side needs to communicate much better with the sales staff. I really felt left in the dark, as to when the mattress would actually arrive at the store for pick-up on the day that I was told it would. It was almost like, it would be at the store for pick-up whenever was convenient for the driver. That is why I am lowering my overall rating to 3 Stars.

I recently purchased for delivery later this month a set of kitchen and laundry room appliances…read more My Salesman Jeff F. did a fine job in discussing and finding me in stock products for a delivery, in a very late moment sort of, on the fly appliance purchase. I was pleased to know also that Kettle Moraine Appliance had in store repairmen, also, for future use. Jeff did a fine job. Period. He has a very fine, extensive product knowledge base, and answered a lot of my appliance questions and concerns. He listened and I was not preached to, unlike too many Big Box Store clerks. I especially appreciated direct and accurate answers to my qualms of having to have a ventless clothes dryer. I have a quirky new kitchen set up where a built in alcove could take traditional stacked laundry units, but not an available exhaust pipe. So, a new style, all in one front opening single unit washer/electric ventless dryer was the solution. Jeff was a great and to the point "explainer" that the concept is sound and actually very common now a days. So, as a non - Digitally Gifted sort of fellow, I appreciated that . Also, and for me as a Semi-Retired guy, who is not one of the local Gentry Class, I was given the full attention and courtesy as if I were such. It was appreciated. -- Mike B., Milwaukee

I called after the…read moreweek and was told "we are short staffed" and that I should leave a message for my salesman. So I did. No call back so after another few days I called again and was told the same thing. Not until I basically demanded to speak to a manager did the receptionist respond appropriately and make it an appropriately handled discussion. I was then told by a manager when it would arrive. I called that day and they said it had arrived the day before. Then finally the salesman called after I already found out. The Installation crew was great thankfully. A week later I called to request a service guy to take a look at the door as it doesn't close right. The guy told me their service people weren't in that day and that I should call their West Bend store. Again, the customer is expected to do the store's job. I would not recommend them. If I can't find a better store next time I need an appliance I will order it online and deal with the installation on my own. They provided no added value. BTW my oven was $4000 so one would expect at least average customer service.
