It's right on 9th near The National - FYI, 9th is a one way street so you may have to go up 10th for a block and loop back around. The name on the door is "BC Modern Furniture" and they're open Fri-Sun from 10-4. In addition, they run estate sales and host one day flea markets so check their website for upcoming events and sales. If you visit the store, know that it's mostly mid-century furniture with some same era collectables thrown in. It's not a huge place but it's very, very well curated. This is some of the nicest looking vintage furniture I've seen in town - lots of sideboards, dressers, end tables and some truly glorious sofas. Prices are commensurate with the quality - a big 2 piece sectional sofa with immaculate original upholstery was in the $600 range. That said, they're willing to negotiate so if you see something you love, have the conversation. The Mister grabbed a fun Maifest stein and a vintage German decor mag from 1964 for $10, so we left happy. They are adding things all the time so if you're trying to up the hipster cachet on your sweet Bay View bungalow definitely check them out.

He drove down from Milwaukee to Racine just to sit with us, talk and give us a lot of helpful info. We didn't really have any items that he deals in but he still sat with us and was very helpful. We were initially very excited about working with Fringe after reading about them in some of the…read morelocal publications, even though most of the coverage was in paid advertorials. Unfortunately, early on it became very clear that the designer was way off track in her selections and presenting a plan that had no flow or cohesion with the rest of the home; merely a laundry list of items to purchase. When we did our own research on the pieces presented, it was clear that colors, scale, and overall cohesion was way off and so we decided to end the relationship. We were initially required to sign a contract for her to commence with the work, but when we decided to move in another direction with our project, the designer was unclear about the terms of the agreement she required us to sign. In fact, we had the option of choosing $2,500.00 in furnishings, but were sent an invoice for $2,500.00 with no mention of this option. When we pointed out the terms of the contract to the designer we were turned over to the owner of the store who wrote a very curt email to us that didn't address our questions or attempt to proceed in good faith. At that point we decided the situation was getting too toxic to continue with them and just paid the invoice. We have worked with other designer firms in the past so we are familiar with design agreements and making sure that designers are fairly compensated for their work. With Fringe Interiors, we believe that we were taken advantage of by a sales person and an owner, both of whom were more concerned with commissions than with building a long term customer relationship or future referrals.

As you make your way around the upstairs where she has laid out the beds (pun mildly intended), will have you longing to walk off with all of them at once, while their prices are nothing short of astounding. If there was ever a time to focus on buying local, this post-COVID time is it, and if you are looking for a place that is going to be fair, where you will find something that will last, this is the store. More importantly, Linda's knowledge of interior design means when you walk in and jabber as incoherently as I did, she will cheerfully help you find what matches your style and/or make your significant other happy without breaking the bank. When you go, tell her Guy says "Hi."

Meg and her team are super creative and helpful. Her pieces fit into any home and interior style. I also feel like their marketing and space is just really genuine and friendly! I would like to update my review. I did have the sofa redone at your shop. We discussed ad nauseam…read morethat it would be a comfortable soft sofa and that the velvet would not attract as much dust and lint as it does. You said it was specifically a better product. I had another chair recovered in velvet at Calico Corners in Wilmette and it does not attract dust and lint at all so it is not necessarily a function of all velvets. You were not nearly as helpful as you sound here on yelp when I had these complaints after the sofa was done. You' were completely unresponsive and refused to assist any further. At minimum, the sofa should've been comfortable and you definitely did mislead me on your product.

Also, the excel employee almost definitely is selling the information to scalpers. Fully convinced the staff do as they please. Candace or however you spell it from asset protection will talk just to make herself feel powerful and waste your time. Im 100% certain they are back dooring now... Monday was restock I visited everyday except Friday and 2 guys bought everything out... how nice of them!! Smh.

Buckle in y'all, this is my first review for 2025 and I'm coming in hot...this review was inspired…read moreby a morning visit on a recent Saturday morning. It was not unlike any other visits- meaning I arrived hoping for a relaxing day but left frustrated at well, everything. Let's start with the parking lot. Who decided that was a good idea? The parking spots are tiny- I mean tiiiny! One visit a poor girl came up to me in tears because she thought she had hit my car. Sure, they have the parking garage too but the entrance that's closest to the parking garage closes after a certain time. Moving on to the layout. The home and kids stuff is upstairs- why?!? I love the home section but I don't love it enough to go all the way upstairs. Also, have you ever shopped with kids? They see an escalator and all they want to do is go up and down it, which means I rarely get to go upstairs unless I'm by myself- and again even when I'm by myself, who really wants to go upstairs? The only good thing about the home section being upstairs is that after a holiday the clearance section is still full because guess what? No one else wants to go upstairs either. I guess you can call that a positive aspect of this review. Let's move on to inventory- is it just me or does it seem like the shelves are always empty? Sure, they always seem to be restocking but then why are the shelves always empty?? Also, when you try to do curbside, stuff is always unavailable...why?? Don't even get me started on Starbucks- if you like long lines THIS is the spot for you. Do yourself a favor and walk away, all the way to the Starbucks in Whitefish Bay and by the time you come back I bet you the line you were thinking about standing in will not have moved. I am not exaggerating. Now you're done shopping- you've tried to get what you need and have to pay for your things. They have 3 different places to check out- but guess what? Usually, only 1 checkout area is open,- it's at the main entrance, Fine, there might not be enough people to staff all the checkouts but I absolutely abhor the set up of the main checkout area. It looks like they have so many lanes BUT hardly any are actually open. There is also NO room for all of the people checking out. Did they forget that people will have carts and have to stand in line?? They tried to cram so much in the area that they forgot about the people that actually have to stand in line. In conclusion, if I have the time I would rather drive 15 minutes to a different Target. So why not give them 1 star- why in the world am I giving it 2 stars? Because I don't want them to close- I'd rather soldier through a visit than have to drive to a different Target because as terrible as this one is to go in to, I can still do curbside.
