I verified that they had my correct phone number on file, and they did. No excuse for not calling or emailing to cancel the appointment! To add insult to injury, I had to pay $5.00 for parking for this non-appointment. The receptionist seemed completely unperturbed by this snafu, and told me to go to another address where they could do the test. She didn't give me a referral, contact name or bother to get an appointment for me. Thinking the address was for another location for the same practice, I drove there. Turned out it was Sibley Hospital. Not having a referral or appointment or even what department to look for -- and not wanting to wait around with sick people, I decided to leave and go home. This shouldn't happen to anyone, especially someone like me, who has ALS and has difficulty getting around.

No overnight stay, no real pain, nothing…read more But a week after, she started developing serious symptoms, which Dr. Paul took very seriously; he acted fast to find out what was wrong. At first, I was quick to blame the surgery, but more detailed investigation showed that the gallbladder problems were just the tip of the iceberg and the fist thing to "act up" in a very complex situation. Not only did Dr. Paul do a great job (as confirmed by other surgeons and his reputation); he still checks on my wife, even three years later.
