Their pricing and policies are not…read moretransparent, and it feels like they're more focused on collecting fees than taking care of their patients. I had already paid the $190 contact lens fitting fee, but when I called to schedule my follow-up appointment, I was told I would have to pay the entire fee again because I had missed an internal deadline. This deadline was never clearly communicated to me. They left me three voicemails, including one just last week, simply asking me to call back to schedule. At no point did they mention that if I didn't call by the end of the week, I would lose my fitting and be required to pay another $190. I work in healthcare myself, so scheduling appointments isn't always easy since I work the same hours they're open. If this policy had been clearly explained from the beginning or mentioned in the voicemail, I could have planned accordingly instead of being blindsided by another fee. After reading other reviews, it seems I'm not the only person who has felt that this office prioritizes money over patient care. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I won't be returning and would not recommend this practice to anyone looking for transparent pricing, clear communication, and patient-centered care.

My vision is pretty bad - astigmatism and 5.somethings in both eyes. I went in to this local office…read morefor contacts and glasses since the readers weren't cutting it anymore. I have spent a hefty amount on office visits, contact fittings, 2 rounds of eye dilations and the lens and frame. It's been a non-stop process for about a month now. I went in on Thursday for an eye dilation to help my eyes "adjust to the prescription" and I have worn either the glasses or contacts religiously. I am still not adjusting. I am not driving since I don't feel comfortable. I just called and they can't see me until the 22nd (dr is going on vacation) and said they will check but I might have to pay another visit fee. Is this all normal or do they just suck? The contacts are a little better distance wise but it just doesn't feel "clear". Vision is worse than before and my bank account is down $700.

First off, the new facility is amazing! They did the best they could across the street, but this…read morenew location is huge and super nice. Front desk staff had me checked in quickly and the initial vision tests were performed quickly. I don't recall her name, but she was very thorough and personable--asking the right questions before Dr. Patel met with me. Dr. Patel conducted full vision tests, reviewed my exams and asked what I was looking for from my glasses (seeing far/close, my line of work, hobbies that might require vision needs, etc.). During my frames and lense selection, Kendall was excellent. She had me select frames that I liked, then offered similar looking alternatives that actually ended up being the frames I selected. She then went thru the lenses options and offered input to ensure I was making the best decisions for my needs. I can't thank her enough! Overall, this is exactly how the process should work. My appointment took less than an hour, I was involved in the feedback and selection process from start to finish, and the staff were both friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs.

Yen helped me find great fitting glasses that were fully covered by my insurance and gave me recommendations on lens to help my eyes long term. After finding this place, I would never want to go back to any of my previous optometrists so as long as Dr. Nguyen is there. She is also very time efficient without rushing the eye exam process at all, which has typically been the case for me with other doctors that want to get you in and out. Most importantly, my prescription has never been better and more accurate which means a lot to me. Thank you Dr. Nguyen and staff!

From the moment I walked in, they made me feel welcome, and my eye exam was super thorough without feeling rushed. They helped me find glasses and contacts that actually fit my style, and they have so many stylish and cool frames, including some from Japan!! Plus, they even had hypoallergenic options (huge win for me since I'm allergic to acrylic). They told me if I ended up having a reaction, I could return my glasses within 3 months, no stress at all :)) It honestly felt like they genuinely cared about helping me, and I left feeling excited about my new glasses. If you're looking for an eye doctor who treats you with kindness and makes the whole experience fun, go here! PS: Be careful, you might leave with glasses so cute you'll start planning outfits around them!!! \(^_^)/

Wow! The love we have for this place can not be condensed enough for a review post so just trust us…read moreand come check them out for yourself. But I'll try... Dr. Ervin is beyond the best! She is so incredibly caring, informative, direct, but also full of heart, smiles, and friendliness! She truly connects with her patients both young and old. Especially my kiddos! And she loves to help pick new frames too which is unseen after a Dr. is done with you at any other eye exam clinic. Spending the extra time with her young patients to help them pick new frames is a wonderful treat! And if Dr. Ervin (or anyone) decides you need glasses you can NOT go wrong with buying your new frames here. The selection of options is always remarkable and always evolving. Plus they can make special orders for you if you don't see the color or style you hoped to find. EVERYONE is great at helping with new selections but we can not go a single visit without getting Karen's honest guidance for each new purchase we make. For our family, Karen has become our personal glasses shopper! She is our favorite person to work with and my kids love and value her opinion on what works for their individual face shapes and fashion/style needs. Not only is she great at knowing what works for exactly each person she is a walking catalog of what frames are available or what the brand was if it is no longer on the shelf from a past visit. She knows their selection so perfectly I bet you could even blindfold her and she would still instantly find you what you are looking for without missing a beat. Additionally, Saginaw Family Eyecare is, as their name says, super FAMILY friendly and very preschooler tolerant which is quite helpful for a Mom with multiple kids in tow.

As a long term customer I was dismayed about their lack of care for this situation. I ended up having to go the ER and the diagnosis was a scratched cornea. Went in for my annual eye appointment because I kept getting text messages that it was time for my…read moreannual eye appointment. I didn't really 'need' an appointment, but figured I might as well go. I told them upfront I didn't need a new contact lens prescription. I had just ordered more. Eye dr asks me what I normally wear and I tell him mix of glasses & contacts yada yada, he gives me a sample of some new lenses I'm sure a brand rep came in and is trying to push for a kickback considering I saw the past two patients before me walk out with the same brand samples they gave me. I get to the end of my appointment and peruse the glasses section, and asked the tech to tighten my frames since they've gotten loose over time. She says sure, takes them to the back, and returns with them broken, provides an insincere 'sorry' and no resolution, until I prompted for one. She said they could give me 50% off of the frames if they still sell them. They don't still sell them (shocking), and her next resolution was to try and sell me something else. 'We have frames as low as $90' she said, verbatim. I walked in the door with a $400 pair of Tiffany & Co frames that I purchased from them in 2023. Hell would freeze over before I walk out the door with a ~$150 pair that isn't even comparable to what I walked in the door with. She didn't disclose that there was a possibility of damage, and I didn't consider this was in the realm of possibility considering the screws on the arms simply needed tightened. I believe (I can't prove it), that they were heated and she tried to bend the plastic into position instead of just tightening the screws. Then, at the end after I'm already boiling because she broke my frames, they try to hit me with a $169 bill. I was confused, and asked for a price breakdown. $125 of the bill was for a contact lens 'fitting'. I said I didn't have a fitting, he gave me a sample, I didn't need a new lens prescription, and you didn't sit me down in the subsequent area where the 'fitting' actually happens. She tells me I should have known that him talking to me about contacts was a fitting fee, and next time they bring up contacts I should 'stop them before I receive the service'. I didn't receive what I understood as a service. If that's how you charge that's fine, but you need to be clear upfront that it's $125 for the optometrist to say the word contacts with you in the room. I told her I already have a new lens prescription, and ordered more from 1-800 contacts. She said well this isn't 1-800 contacts, you saw a doctor, yeah - I obviously know that. The POINT is I didn't NEED a NEW prescription. She's giving me a lecture about how 'next time I schedule don't select that you wear glasses & contacts'. 1. There will be no 'next time' 2. When you ask me that question when I'm scheduling, I take it literally. I do wear glasses and contacts. So they're trying to send me out the door $569 worse off than when I walked in without a single thing in hand. Didn't get new glasses, didn't order contacts, just $169 fee and a broken pair of $400 frames. I tell her I'm not paying $125 for a lens fitting when I didn't need a new prescription. I wouldn't have been so PO'd if she wouldn't have broken my frames without offering a resolution, and at a bare minimum, a sincere apology. If my frames hadn't been broken, I wouldn't have been complaining about the $169. I pay my $44 for imagining, and she tells me she'll remove the contact lens prescription from their portal since I'm refusing to pay for the lens 'fitting'. I told her that's fine because I. Didn't. Need. A. New. Prescription.!!!! This place was great before it got bought out by private equity. I've been going here for at least a decade. I hope Dr. Colvin gets to retire soon, because this place is ruined. The icing on the cake was when I got home, my new contact order (from 1-800 Contacts) was already delivered, because like I said from the start of the appointment: I. Didn't. Need. A. New. Prescription. I am also not exaggerating the price point - these are the comps online. They're probably going for more now than what I originally paid for them. [comp listing 1](https://www.ebay.com/itm/168069210050) [comp listing 2](https://www.etsy.com/listing/4438128440/?ref=share_ios_native_control) [comp listing 3](https://eyewear-collections.com/products/tiffany-co-tf-2074-8239-cat-eye-eyeglasses-54-mm?srsltid=AfmBOoqHlSl1j7OAGSiV-sQMBGuMW3FZ1ZtNf3B2v0KNZXb5DAhsyRNQ) End of the day, I will not be returning to the only eye dr office I've been going to for a decade. I was already dissatisfied when they sold out to private equity, but this experience put me over the edge. I don't recommend this practice, or any other MyEyeDr affiliated practice.
