It is ideally situated close to what was UCE campus, hence the name, and was a popular haunt for tourists and locals alike. The three stars represents what you would expect from a small kebab shop, but it does this well. I'd have no complaints with the food or service here, but if you're after somewhere a little more professional then there are plenty of Big Johns around here. I've had different kebabs and also some curries from Uni Kebab and generally am quite happy.

This branch of Nando's is the only branch the chain has in the city centre of Wolverhampton in the…read moreWest Midlands, it is located on Queen Street. After watching City draw 1-1 with Wolves in a frustrating game which once again proved the need for VAR, I called in Nando's after the game, hungry (with it being an early kick-off and getting little change to eat), and I was expecting good things as generally with the exceptions of very few branches, Nando's is a decent place to get food. I was told I would have to wait 10 minutes for a table, which I kind of expected - one thing which was made clear straight away is this store is really small and perhaps inside it is one of the smallest Nando's I've been in, so it did feel much more cramped than other stores. Even the selection of sauces was smaller in terms of ketchup and pots to put the sauces in, they were spread out and sometimes hard to find - I couldn't even find salt or pepper! The ordering station was also quite small, after a ten minute wait for food I was told that I'd have to wait a further half an hour for my food, and like the wait for my table it took a couple of minutes over - This should have been made clear when I was willing to wait, as I expected to wait and then the food being served quite quick similar to other branches I've been to on an event day that was quite busy, such as near to Leicester's King Power Stadium and London's famous Wembley Stadium. The table seemed a little uncomfortable, my table basically felt not positioned right, it was on the wall as you went into the toilets, not allowing a lot of room. My food quality was quite poor, the chicken did taste a bit chewy, and the chips possibly tasted reheated - the chicken is halal here but I didn't see this stated clearly enough when entering the restaurant or order. This Nando's stores also seems slightly more old-fashioned compared to other stores, from the entrance to the doors you actually go through. Apart from probably one staff member, the rest of the staff here didn't seem too helpful or friendly either which was the shame, going alongside the awful overall feel of this branch and the poor food quality, I sadly feel Nando's on Queen Street in Wolverhampton deserves a single one-star rating.

Now in addition to the carvery which I have always loved here, they do great pizzas - and I'm a bit of a pizza snob so really didn't expect this! Great quality, great price, great pizza - definitely a rival to pizza express! As further minor interior renovations keep occurring, the service seems to be slipping.... I found the bar lady who served us was really rude, ignorant, moody, and standoffish. I'm completely baffled at how she has managed to pass through any interview stage of any customer facing job. Such a Debbie Downer. BUT the pizza is amazing and 100% makes up for it.

So decided to drive into Coventry City as that's where the closest Nando's was to be found and luckily got a table right before the dinner rush started. My brother & I decided to split the "Full platter" which consisted of a whole chicken & 4 regular sides for £20.95 (there was actually a choice - you could get 4 regular sides or 2 super size sides). The regular size sides we got were: 1) Chips - meh, absolutely paled in comparison to the Peri-peri chips 2) Peri-peri chips - I had forgotten how delicious this seasoning was. Really perked up the taste of the fries 3) Spicy rice - excellent taste and actually wasn't that spicy, so glad about that 4) Supergrain - this was a salad consisting of quinoa, just lots of different kinds of beans, kale and an avocado buttermilk dressing. It overall tasted okay, but I wasn't feeling it. I think a tart dressing rather than the creamy one might add some more oomph. The chicken itself was glorious! It had that true crispy charcoal taste and was delicious. The skin was crispness personified! So food-wise its absolutely 4/5 stars. But it's 3 stars overall in the review, because of the indifferent service and dirty loo facilities. The service wasn't that great as had to ask multiple times for plates. The women's loo stalls were so tight, it verged on the uncomfortable. Plus the state of the loos itself was an absolute shambles - very dirty and with a wet floor. I'd come back here for the food, but stay away from the toilets. Yelp 150/ 2019

The food is cheap and I would recommend the chicken kebab over anything else, it is King Kebab's specialty. The bread is soft; the meat is well marinated and is not too dry. They also sell everything else you would expect at a kebab shop and they do these varieties pretty well. They offer a wide range of sauces to smother your kebab in. I would recommend King Kebab for all kebab connoisseurs out there, not to be missed.
