There's always a tent/booth where they charge your CC and you're given a script in the amount you plan to pay the vendors. Just some additional notes: *You MUST get a pretzel (although their prices keep going up). I don't know what they put in it, but it's incredible! *Umami Ramen from down the street posts up here too & the portions to price look fantastic. *The Mexican food isn't as good as Torti but still solid! *Liked the gyros as well 241/365

His Asiago loaf is my favorite, toasted up and made into a sandwich or even just with butter. The Grampa's pasty stand also sells some phenomenal pasties, hot and fresh, or frozen for later. Avalon farms won my heart with their BLTs. The beet salad is pretty killer also, but that BLT is what I wait for all winter. Currently they are there on some of the food truck Friday's, but previously they were there on Wednesdays so I would check the Farmers Market Facebook to confirm if they'll be there when you're planning to go. Rosemary parm bread with basil mayo and thick crispy bacon with fresh lettuce and tomatoes? Yes please!! There are some other vendors there and later in the summer the attendance improves so be sure to stop back again and again!

The cider is real great too, and quite a deal ($5/gallon) compared to other orchards in the area. The shop is quant and the staff are always very pleasant. They make some amazing looking pies; I've only tried the blackberry one but it was very good. Such amazingly tender yet flaky crust! Unlike another review here, I found the apples to be pretty reasonably priced. There's only three orchards in the Jackson area and this orchard's prices seem fair. Compared to parts of the state where growers practically give bushels away during peak season, any offering around here would seem steep. You can get lower prices farther away, but you're probably wasting all that saved money on gas, not to mention the time to drive it. Empire apples (my favourite!) here are the best out of anywhere I've tried.

I see so many towns that just let the old buildings deteriorate but Marshall has the feel of a thriving old time like the 50s and 60s when there were stores open in all the buildings. When I entered Samar's, the first thing that I noticed was the smell. The scent of root beer was strong. It might be from all the candy they had with plenty of choices. However, I was not looking for candy today, but a good ole fashion milkshake! Samar's proudly serves Hershey's ice cream and they had approximately 20 flavors. I went with one of my personal favorites, the Midnight Caramel which has dark chocolate, caramel, and vanilla mixed together. I also grabbed a bottle of water and with my milkshake, I spent under $5. It's very hard to beat that price for a milkshake and something extra. The owners, who I assumed, were the ones who made my milkshake for me, seems to be a husband and wife that were both very kind and personable. I hope their business thrives for years to come.
