Just off Jetty Road on Chapel Street, this little shop is full of wondrous delights. Little Bird…read morestocks unique designs I've never seen before. The items in stock include stamps, letter sets, calenders, bags, clothing, skin care, organic ceramics, cushions, jewellery, cards, and home accessories. Although this shop is small, it's easy to get lost in time as you browse through the small bits and pieces. The shop assistant was nice and didn't come across as in your face, and she didn't watch you as you walked around, she remained busy whilst still making an effort with customers. This shop is ideal for design lovers, and anyone who loves quirky new things. Also if you are looking for a small gift for someone, this is the place to come. Little Bird will definitely not disappoint; I love it already!

Nothing makes you wish you owned your own house than this type of store…read more What's that? You already own your own house? Well, screw you, then. I'm sorry I'm a bankrupt student! But seriously, if you DO own a house, and it isn't already polluted with furniture, come buy ALL your stuff here. That way your house will all be matching. And it'll fit a kind of beachy theme. If you live by the beach (I officially hate you, you greedy, house-owning bastard), it's all the more perfect. But to be fair, you can't furnish your entire house with Little Bird's stock. It's more of an... accessory store. So you don't need to throw out all your furniture. Keep it. Just accessorise. I don't like cluttering up my room, which is already cluttered with piles of books and scrunched up bits of notepaper, so I'd never get anything from a store like this in my current condition of living. But as soon as I'm able to leave the nest, I'll be paying this store a visit.

There are two stores one in Richmond and the other in Tanunda starting off as a furniture manufacturer working with pine, oak, teak and mahogany built in a traditional conservative fashion. The quality is second to none, yes there is a higher price but that's what you can expect to pay. At their Richmond store there is a large homewares range which will satisfy and whim from napkins to saucepans. If you've worked up an appetite or thirst Rumours cafe within the store make really nice coffee and light snacks. If you sign up for their loyalty card expect to recieve a point per dollar spent, the more you spend the more you get and that's throughout the store. Also once a year towards Xmas a gift voucher is posted in the event you haven't been back during the course of a year as an enticement and it works!

This is a treasure hunt you simply must embark on because there's another exciting designer dress around every corner (who gives this stuff away??) and you can deck yourself out in no time. It's not just clothing, there is all the other second hand stuff like old lamps and toys and forks. this sort of thing doesn't really excite me all to much so I can't say I've spent too much time milling around in this section, but if it's anything like the clothing section then I'd say it's worth a scrounge.

I often wander in here when I am doing my shopping, more for the second hand books but I occasionally have a look around the well laid out clothing section. It is a great place to pick up just about anything you need. There are the usual racks full of clothes and detritus from the elderly people who maybe aren't around anymore to wear or use them but then you have the more exciting racks of clothes for all ages where you can find designer label jeans and other clothing items at a great price. You can usually find some little bit of gold as you sift through the pebbles. Half the fun is in finding your personal treasure, because as they say "one man's junk is another man's treasure" or something like that anyway. It is quite a large store with a whole room behind the clothing that stocks household items, furniture, books, toys and all sorts of paraphernalia. If you are in to op shopping this is a must visit and relatively unknown unless you are a local because it is off the beaten track.

Originally the go to place for just about everything to do…read morewith your home, Freedom on Marion Road seems to lack the range, styles and quality which once made it such a staple for Adelaideans. Is it the Ikea effect? Who knows, but walking into showroom after showroom and seeing furniture which is out of date and of lesser quality then the price should indicate is a bit of a let down. Decorating items like cushions and table pieces are limited in colours and styles and even the colour availability in lounge suites is disappointing. Freedom does still stock a good variety of bathroom items and has a great range of inexpensive glassware, but I still crave for the Freedom of yesteryear. Hopefully the new season stock has a bit more oomph and brings Freedom back to the top. If you need little finishing touches for your bathroom or you need to kit out your cupboard with glasses and ceramics, definitely go to Freedom, but if you're after a new lounge suite or dinner table, head elsewhere.

What completely takes the excitement away is the delay on already long waits and the lack of communication. When I asked a staff member if I was supposed to receive some sort of notice about the delay she responded that "if they had to call every person waiting on deliveries about a delay it would take forever." This highlights that delays are obviously a regular occurrence and that communicating with customers after a purchase isn't a priority, they already have your money right? Decent furniture and regular specials make it a good place to shop but be prepared for a long wait for your purchase.
