Two stars for service, one star for prices. Seriously, with these prices, my response is almost always 'Fuck you, Harvey Norman, I'm getting my computer shit at MSY for a quarter of the price', and off I go to MSY and live happily ever after. The sales staff here are lovely, really helpful, but I'm just not prepared to throw away that much cash on stuff I can get cheaper elsewhere. Maybe after I've finished fitting out my third yacht, I'll be ready to buy here. Til then, no. read more

Best prices? Get f#&ked. I don't expect to pay over a hundred bucks for a wall bracket for my 32" Panasonic. I must've looked like a goldfish when the assistant told me that price and then gives me a 'deal' that knocks $20 bucks off. Big deal, now I know what I'm looking for I'm going to eBay baby, thanks for your help. Relatively big store, all the household items you may ever need, including furniture. did you know that when you sit on an item of furniture and alarm goes off and that's why a shop assistant always comes running at you trying to make a sale. Shop around kids, fin it cheaper, I'm pretty sure they have to beat other stores prices anyhow, win! read more

This Harvey Norman has the best service out of any HN I've been into. As soon as i walk in, sales people are falling over themselves to help me. If anything, it can get a bit annoying when you say no thanks to one, and right away another appears. I brought a set top box from here, and the guy was great, he ran through the options with me, and was even happy to drop a few dollars off, which is always a bonus. read more

Your one stop shop - Harvey Norman! They sell all home appliances from a blender to a washing machine. They also have some great interest free finance available for purchases over $500. At the moment I think it is something purely ridiculous like up to 50 or 60 months interest free! That's like 5 years! Great if you really need something straight away but do not have cash to pay, like replacing washing machines and fridges. Plus they also have all computers and related accessories, camera's, mobile phones, games consoles. Oh plus the furniture! However this particular one I did once purchase an interest free item from. The staff here are excellent when you can get one of them available ot assist. They are so busy in the electrical and computer departments, especially on weekends. But their service is great. We worked out what I required and he did all the paperwork and pout everything through for me. I just had to sign by the X and the stuff was mine to take home then and there. It was an easy simple process made easier and simpler by great service. Which I have always had at Harvey Norman. In addition they have a great online facility where you can check stock availability as well on items you may wish to purchase. When they have a good special they HAVE a good special. Not often have I found something I really wanted here on a good deal and not been able to get it from one of my two closest stores. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I felt like I was being interrogated by a sales rep! I understand it's their job to sell but this guy took it too far! I will never go back! I went in to buy the iPhone 8, the sales rep tried to Harrass me and push me into buying things I didn't want, he was rude and wouldn't take no for an answer when I didn't want what he was trying to sell, so I started to back out of buying because of how nasty he was coming off, he kept asking me why? Why? Why?- he wouldn't leave it alone! In addition to being in my personal space and staring at me. I felt completely harassed! read more

Your selling a keyboard for $200. Your website has it advertised at $155. Officeworks has it at an everyday price for $128. After asking your staff member if he could honor your 'best price guarantee', he said he couldn't and his best offer was still above your own websites advertised price. Pathetic. read more

Our vacuum cleaner had a major breakdown (sparks flying from machine). After taking the product to Harvey Norman (Marion, S.A) for a refund (Still under manufacturer's warranty) I was told repeatedly that I was not entitled to a refund or replacement. I asked to speak to a manager and he said the same thing, despite me telling him I had been on the ACCC website and knew my rights (if any product has a major fault you are entitled to YOUR CHOICE of: a refund, a replacement, or a repair( https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees/repair-replace-refund.) He then proceeded to call Dyson (the manufacturer) and told me I would have to wait until the following day for the product to be "assessed" by Dyson (they didn't call back the next day). After leaving the store I contacted the ACCC and the consultant told me I had a right to file a formal complaint under section 54 of the consumer law and that if I needed a vacuum cleaner urgently I could hire one and claim for a loss of income. I asked if I should relay this information to the retailer and the consultant told me I most certainly should. After ringing the department manager he still refused to give me a refund or replacement and told me I was entitled to write a letter of complaint. I have wasted a whole afternoon travelling to Harvey Norman and I still urgently need a vacuum cleaner. I deeply resent Harvey Norman as they are using their size I feel to exploit consumers. I don't have the luxury of hiring a new vacuum cleaner while I await a resolution and can't/won't afford to take on such a loss if I'm not guaranteed of being reimbursed. Harvey Norman know this and use this to their advantage. They appear to have far more to gain by flaunting the law than by following it. If you want to protect your hard earned money, I'd advise shopping somewhere else. If Harvey Norman concentrated on long term customer satisfaction rather than short term gain, I feel they'd be a lot better off. I'm sure at the current rate they will soon be remembered only in our history books. read more
