My dental insurance was billed for a "routine exam" when I visited this office for an extraction…read more When I called to ask why I was told that the time during which the Dr. and I discussed the procedure was the "exam." When I came to this office I had records with me from my regular dentist who had performed my exam less than two months prior. Later in the year when my regular dentist performed my second exam of the year that should have been covered by my insurance, it was rejected due to the oral surgeon's office billing for an "exam" that did not take place. I was left responsible to pay for the actual exam that was rejected.

I understand that that is the norm everywhere, but had the staff been a bit more knowledgeable about the way the doctor operates (no pun intended, in this case), I could have avoided that unnecessary fee. Just know this all ahead of time and you'll be fine. If you feel it necessary to read the full event, continue on: My only complaint is that before even making an appointment I had told the staff that I would only be in town for 6 days, and that I had a blocked salivary gland that would require a bit of mild surgery, asking if it would be able to be taken care of while I was in town (under a 6 day time frame). I was told, sure, come on in, the doctor would decide what to do. They were kind and good enough to schedule me for the mild surgery on the same day of the appointment (a Monday). In meeting with the doctor on Monday, however, I find out that he uses actual stitches to create less of a scar (I respect that entirely), but that he therefore needs to see me again a week from now, to take the stitches out and to see that it has healed properly, which is not a possibility in my case. Also, to my own detriment I had popped the little saliva bubble a few days earlier, which was a calculated risk on my part because the bigger the bubble is, the larger the incision to remove it is = the more risk of loss of feeling to your lip and a larger scar = not at all what I wanted. So I should not have done that. My bad.

He started crying, screaming & wouldn't hold still, he remembered his first time. It broke my heart to see him so scared, again. He needed to be treated under anesthesia. It was a LONG drive, but our boy is worth it. We were truly blessed with Pediatric Dental Care in more ways than 1. Dr. Bob and Dr. Dincher couldn't have been more understanding & reassuring. They explained everything they were going to do & gave us play-by-play updates as promised. The whole staff was kind, caring & understanding. They're supportive of the parents/grandparents as well as your child/children. I can't thank them enough for all that they did for us, especially Dr. Dincher. He is an angel. I highly recommend this practice. I give 1000 !

They started to call my personal phone, cell phone and text message 5 days before my appointment. According to the automated text message sent out you are supposed to confirm 2 days before appointment. I confirmed it 3 days, appointment scheduled for Monday and I confirmed it Thursday. They informed they had already replaced it. When I called in they seemed confrontational because I explained I had confirmed before the 2 business day deadline.

This is a brand new building in a well to do area of my town. Everything is clean and the equipment all brand new and state of the art. The business is owned by a husband and wife duo both extremely credentialed and very down to earth. During cleanings they use ultrasonic water therapy instead of instrument scraping which is much quicker and more comfortable. The fillings are done by a technique that is drill free, painless and takes only a quick moment. The staff is extremely gentle and friendly during procedures. In particular, my hygienist Lisa does a super great job on my choppers while making me feel comfortable. My entire family comes here and will continue to do so throughout life

The fancy office with all of its cute bells and whistles should have been a huge red flag that they're focused more on appearances and generating income than performing care. To start, they felt it necessary to call 5 times within a one hour time span the day prior to our appointment to let us know about a copay for the services they would be performing. Problem though - they had never examined my daughter (this was her first dentist visit ever, to anyone) and were diagnosing what they'd need to do based on a camera phone picture they had me send. I refused to sign the copay paperwork they gave me when checking in because of this - how can I be told what to pay prior to an exam/x-rays, etc? After being called back and x-rays taken, it was discovered she has two teeth that need work instead of just the one, and the doctor wanted to sedate her to perform the work. She advised (based on her two minute exam) she thought my daughter wouldn't be able to get the work done without sedation. Not ideal, but doctor knows best, right? Already fighting back tears as I explained how we are currently living less than paycheck to paycheck, they escorted us to the billing office to discuss insurance specifics. I was then informed that their practice doesn't accept our insurance for their anesthesiologist and I would have to pay $600-800 in full, out of pocket, at the time of her procedure (in addition to copays for the actual work being done). When I told them we aren't able to pay that fee, the woman left the office and came back with a post-it note that had two numbers on it and told me to call other providers that she thought might take our insurance for sedation. At that point I was fully frustrated and crying, and without so much as a goodbye or good luck, we were left sitting alone in the billing room and had to see ourselves out. I should have trusted my gut feeling that they were more concerned with their income than my daughter's dental health. Being dismissed and discarded as an afterthought when it was realized we weren't made of money is disgusting and I've never felt so low. This is also after I disclosed in private to the staff that I myself have terrible dental anxiety and really wanted to break the cycle and make things right for my daughter... Absolutely heartbreaking that a practice that advertises themselves as "tender care" truly couldn't care less about anything other than money. Edited to add after response from dental staff: Yes, a review of your logs will show those two phone calls to my number at those times. A voicemail was received, as I couldn't come to the phone while I was attending my other daughter while she was home sick from school that day. The other three phone calls were made to my husbands number while he was in a business meeting immediately after, where upon he answered the third call because he thought it was an emergency from me, seeing a local number calling him three times repeatedly. And while I understand your practice may contract other specialties that may not take certain insurances, there was also not one ounce of problem solving attempted nor talk of any other procedures that could take place. I strongly disagree that a proper diagnosis could occur in such a short time of meeting a child to say that they're inappropriate for anything other than IV sedation to get dental work done... the doctor was with my daughter for less than 5 minutes on her FIRST VISIT to your office. Completely unacceptable that no conversations took place other than "here's some numbers to try". There was no compassion even thinking that it took over a month to be seen in the first place and now we have to start over with someone new for an issue that could have been worked on together.

Last week against his wishes and my better judgement I kept his routine cleaning appointment. The receptionist called to confirm my appointment that morning and I let her know we would probably be a few minutes late. To that her response was "youre ALLOWED to be 10 minutes late" I said thats great but it may be a few more than that being were coming from the other side of town. We were a few minutes late for his appointment due to the pouring down rain. 4 extra minutes late to be exact. upon our arrival we were told the appointment was already canceled and the staff scheduled for him had already left for the day. I was also reminded of the 10 minute late policy when the appointment was confirmed that morning. A few days later I received a letter telling me We Didn't show up for the appointment and how important their time is.
