This is the perfect place to start or finish your exploration of the country park. The pub is family friendly and has a menu that accommodates for most tastes and the meals are two for one. It is well worth the money as the food is good, and, I believe, cooked fresh. We always stop here when we pop over for a trip to the park. There is plenty of seating as the pub is split into different areas and the beer garden is lovely on a nice day and offers lots of space for children to play while you relax. The exterior is well kept and suits its location perfectly; it has a seamless mix of old world charm and clean, chic design. People taking a jog or stroll on Otterspool promenade may have spotted the grand white facade of the pub over the water. The staff are always welcoming and the service is delivered to a high standard.

These pies didn't come from a frozen Asda box, if you know what I mean. It's also a convenient place to eat out after enjoying the nearby Eastham Country Park. I've eaten here twice now, and it's been a delight both times. The staff are extremely friendly and talkative (but not overbearing), and the pub itself is so pretty. It was built in the mid 1800's and is situated on the edge of the Mersey River, offering beautiful views. The interior is well decorated and clean. There is ample seating in several rooms, but I always prefer the booths and window seats so I can enjoy the views inside and outside while I eat. The pub is kid-friendly, and meals are two-for-one. There is even a function room upstairs that you can reserve for parties.

Starters arrived, chose the nachos along with my friend. My friend asked for no salsa on hers, when hers arrived it came with no salsa as requested but drenched in BBQ sauce which isnt even on the menu and no sour cream. It was sent back. Mine arrived drenched in the BBQ sauce and no sour cream... Mains arrived, i orderd the "Hunters chicken" which is chicken breasts topped with bacon, bbq sauce, cheese and served with chips, peas, tomato and onion rings. The chicken arrived with the fatty skin still on the breast, i've never seen it arrive like this in other restaurants. My friend orderd a beef sandwhich but placed in yorkshire pudding rather thab bread. Was very stodgy and she only managed a few bites. Overall an unpleasent experience, sadly i cannot comment on anything positive other than the service from our visit. On our exit we found the chef tucking in right next to the bar in his uniform. Wasn't very pleasent.

Here you can spend a very enjoyable evening having a meal, or simply hang out for a drink with friends. The setting is comfortable and pleasant, and the staff here seem pretty nice and friendly. Was pleasantly surprised because even though the place has had a makeover, the floor in particular, it is still essentially, the Addy! Quite a few of the regulars albeit slightly older, lol, were there and more arrived as the pub got busier and busier over the evening, was great to see them all again. There were a great choice of drinks, real ales, ciders, lagers, bottles etc., the prices, quite reasonable too. Entertainment was on, profuse apologies but I can't remember the name of the band, that's the fault of one of the pints of Stella I imbibed! I did have several dances though, which I thoroughly enjoyed. All in all, I had a great time, ex-hub didn't moan that much, so I assume he must have enjoyed himself. Would thoroughly recommend anyone to give this pub a visit. Gipsy Lyn, the dancer. PS. Bar is open till 1am at the weekend. Food menu looks great and might try it this Saturday when I go there again to watch my old mate, Joey Shields along with his Wheels. If not, will defo go on the Sunday for dindins!
