I heard about harvest moon from a friend - recommended for their fantastic massages, only after I found out that they have a sensory deprivation tank..as much as I would have loved a massage-mental freedom/clarity was lacking in my life recently..so I thought 'Hey, maybe floating for one hour will be a different experience to meditating for an hour' so I went for it.
I had a booking for the afternoon, and as I arrived I was lead to the waiting area, where I sat in front of shelves full of all sorts of beauty-full crystals..sitting there out in the open for people to admire. Honestly, I thought straight away ''Hey, it's nice that they trust to have these beauties out in the open and that nobody will take one''.
After I was asked to fill out a form, I was brought into the room with the sensory deprivation tank..admittedly it is quite a small room, unexpectedly so, but the most important thing for me was that it was warm, clean & had a bathroom & shower so that everyone can clean before/after their floatation. Oh and the lighting was perfect.
Everything was explained to me in detail before I got in and it made me feel a little easier about the proccess. I put my ear plugs in, got in the tank, shut the door and turned off the light. Once I was settled I felt totally free, I couldn't smell/see/feel anything other than the touch of my own skin and the water. I became aware of my breath and realised I don't breath properly, or maybe 'loudly' would be the word..my breaths were short and silent and I realised that, that was the only thing I found uncomfortable in the process..but it made me aware. ITS SO IMPORTANT TO BREATH.
Finally, I think the guys are doing a great job here, the intention is not to have a fancy, over the top decor with huge amounts of space..I think their intention is to show people how to relax, be free & look after themselves, because society is doing otherwise...
The most important things for me in a place like this is cleanliness, comfort, warmth, kind, helpful staff & to leave the building with my intentions fulfilled....and that's exactly what I got. read more
