I had no appointment but they were able to fit me in. I opted for a 30 minute neck and back massage, as I'd been suffering from neck crick for a few weeks and this session really helped. The nice lady immediately found the problem areas without prompting. Also even though it was only for 30 minutes, it felt like longer. And it wasn't too painful. The next day I was definitely improved and the neck crick gone. An unexpected highlight was the hot towel. It was a wonderful touch. I've been back twice since for an hour massage each time to work on other knots in my back, however I don't think these were as good my first visit. I had the same lady for these two visits, who I don't think had the same level of experience as the first masseuse I got. There was a lot of back walking, which I think is a bit of a gimmick if I'm honest. And some of the regular hand massaging was a bit too painful at times, but I'm hoping this is the good pain! The interior is very well done, ideal for relaxation with soothing music and comfortable massage tables. Another highlight is they have electric blankets on their tables, so you won't get too cold. One useful thing to know is Tuesday is Ladies Day and Wednesday is Men's Day, when an hour massage is 40 EUR instead of 50 EUR for each day respectively. I'm still in two minds about going back again. It seems who you get here is random, but I'm not sure I could take more back walking. Let's wait and see.

There was water and fruit on offer and a comfy couch to wait when I arrived early. They have a ladies day on Tuesday and gents on Wednesday where you can avail of a discount and they also offer a reduced rate if you book with your partner, however their rates are very good even at full price. The only minus I found was that you could hear what was happening in the reception area while in the massage room as it's a small place, but that was only a very, very minor downside and in my opinion not worthy a minus in the stars. I can't wait to go back frankly, just wish I could afford it more often!

The salon is located in Chapelizod so I was not familiar with the area but it is not very far from Phoenix Park and can be easily reached by the bus 66 from the city centre; if you're driving, there is free parking right in front. I booked beforehand and the service was attentive and polite, followed by a text confirming the booking, date and address with bus/routes tips. Nice touch! Getting there, they are located inside an artificial tanning establishment called "Sun beds". The place is small but it does the job well. There are the usual gossip magazines - which I gladly skip - and some comfy seating while you wait. I saw that they do several promotions, display products for sale and that the environment is relaxed. There were 2 people working; a man and a woman. It seemed a bit unusual but the man was doing feet treatment in several woman and he seemed very professional. After 15 mins wait I was greeted by Gemma. She was very friendly and very well-mannered. As I had arrived a bit earlier she decided to help me then, leaving her break for later; even though I said she did not have to do it and I could wait but she gladly did it, again being very professional. She took me to a corner where they have a massage bed (those with a whole to pop your head through......i'd love one of those for myself!) and a thin blanket. She massaged my feet with nice oils and fragrances and wrapped them in hot mittens and left it heating up for about 20 mins - it was soft and warm. Meanwhile she showed me the colours that were available for the tint process and applied it all very slowly and carefully. I had a full head/scalp massage - which stimulates hair growth - and my brows were trimmed just the way I normally do it - as she was asking if it was okay for me every now and then with the mirror. Also some more essential oils and a lovely mist were sprayed on my face right after the exfoliation. During the whole time I had headphones on with relaxing music to help me chill out. By the time you are thinking "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I want this to last forever" it is over...I was feeling energized and happy. She gave me their price list and 2 cards that I can give to people I refer and they can get a massage/hot mittens/pedicure treatment for 39 euro. Plus she gave me plenty of water advising me to drink more and more at home as the massage tends to make your body really need the 2 litres a day. Lovely experience and I can't recommend it more!

I've had a number of massages over the years but it's never been a regular treatment for me as they are usually too expensive to maintain. Well after last week I'm singing a different tune... I walked in to Thai Well Centre after work on Wednesday and asked if they could fit me in for an hour long Thai Message. After glancing at the books the therapist said they could fit me in at 7.15pm. I arrived back a while later and was immediately taken to the treatment room. Once I had changed she came back, asked what kind of pressure I prefer, and got straight to work. She started in legs, moved up through the back and worked tirelessly until my body was jello. She was flexible when I told her something didn't feel good (such as walking on my calves haha) and accommodating when I asked her to skip my arms and keep working on my back. This place is no frills so don't expect to lounge in a robe while sipping fruited water; but you can expect to leave all of your tension at the door and keep money in your wallet. For €50 I was able to get one of the best massages of my life (tied with a place in Siem Reap) for a full 60 minutes. Thanks so much Dow and I hope to see you in a couple weeks!

My back started acting up again recently so I called Thai Well to see if I could book Mani. Unfortunately she doesnt work there anymore- she does however work in the Malahide Thai Well branch- so I told them to give me whoever was free. The girl who gave me the massage was lovely. She didnt go deep into the muscles like Mani- which I wanted - but the massage was very good. I would say for anyone looking for a regular deep tissue massage, she would be perfect. You are left to get undressed down your underwear in the masage room and then the masseuse comes in and does their thing. There is soothing music playing and it can be very relaxing. The staff are very welcoming and friendly- that the Thai way- and prices are good.

So in I went and the music was very soothing to start but within 30 seconds of starting on my legs, Renata asked me if my knees were sore. They had been for the previous two weeks but I'd put that down to overdoing it in the gym. But she diagnosed the tight iliotibial band in my thigh and explained why that had been making my knees sore. She said that she would continue on the massage but would help to loosen the ligament at the end, if I so wished (she said it would be sore initially). The massage itself was very soothing and my back and shoulders felt brand new afterwards. As for my legs, I left there without pain in my knees for the first time in two weeks and armed with the knowledge of how to prevent it happening in future. You see not only is she a qualified massage therapist but I also noticed a diploma in anatomy and physiology on the wall so she has a better knowledge of how muscles, ligaments etc interact and can explain not only why you might need the massage but the cause of the why as well and the how to fix it. I may have had a deal bring me there in the first place but I'm booking myself in again next week. I suggest you do too!
