Makes the vines grow faster and stronger. We charge extra for the trimming for our commercial customers. As a birthday gift this year, my wife offered to OK a long held dream of planting grape vines on our property. I unfortunately opted to buy from Harvest Express without seeing the Yelp reviews, which was a huge mistake. I ordered 20 Merlot vines, plus the recommended accessories, in January and was told to expect shipment in early to late February. When nothing showed up, I reached out in early March and received a one sentence reply saying the vines were going out the next day. About a week later they were actually shipped and arrive in mid-March. I quickly planted and cared for the vines precisely as instructed and eagerly waited for signs of growth. However, after 4 weeks, there was absolutely nothing - leading me to believe that all 20 vines were shipped and/or arrived dead. I submitted a replacement warranty claim prior to the 30 day deadline and provided all the requested information, which was completely ignored. Multiple follow-up attempts were also unanswered. I've since looked into other third party options to try and secure a refund, but it's an uphill battle. I wish I would have read the Yelp reviews prior to doing business with Harvest Express, which would have saved me a lot of time and money. The company's products are terrible and their customer service is even worse. Easily one of the most dishonest businesses out there. I can only hope this review helps others to avoid my mistake. read more

Wish I'd read reviews here before purchasing two Barbera vines from Harvest Express. Sheesh! If there were a ZERO stars option on Yelp, HE would fall into that abysmal category for two reasons... First, the vines received in March were DOA, never offering to bud despite following HE's detailed planting protocol. (By the way, that same planting method was also used on Malbec, Merlot and Cab vines from Dawn at GrapevinesGalore.com received and planted simultaneously. Those latter vines planted at the same time are robust and now extend 6" over the top of the plastic vine shelter tubes. The Harvest Express vines remain dead sticks.) The second - and more important - reason for a ZERO star review is the insulting, gruff attitude of HE's representative Brad when e-mailed for replacements. After sending several e-mails providing numerous photos and receiving gruffness in return, it was clear there was no intent to live up to vine warranty expressed on HE's website - even for just two paltry vines. My response was to indicate that it was HE's choice to do the right thing - and my choice whether or not to provide recommendations to other home vineyard enthusiasts. The reluctant and insulting response was that the vines would be replaced - but that Brad was surprised any vines I planted grew given how I planted them. Folks, I'm a retired Biologist that was just looking to add Barbera to my plantings for a red-blend house wine in 5 years. And I was excited about it. Brad at HE sucked the life out of that! So, I just ordered three Syrah vines from Grapevines Galore and, although it's past their June 1 cut-off ship date for this season, Dawn pleasantly agreed to ship 'em immediately this Monday. Now that's good business and personable service from someone who respects and enjoys her customer base. Forget Harvest Express! Same thing happened to me. Bought 20 plants, used their planting sleeves. Followed all instructions, 18" deep, 18" wide, brand new organic soil (Miracle Grow Performance Organics, pretty much the most expensive stuff you can get). Out of 20 plants, only 9 grew. 11 duds. That is a failure rate of 55%. Tried reaching out and immediately got a response asking to send pictures, which I did. Never received another reply despite multiple emails. Ended up initiating a chargeback with my credit card. If that doesn't work its time for small claims. read more

Well I have to agree and also wished I had read the reviews We own a hemp and lavender farm and decided to add a row of 25 grapevines After researching what would do well in our zone, I spent a lot of money on a bunch of dead sticks that were planted per the instructions to a T but never bloomed or showed any signs of life . I ordered 4 grape vines this spring from harvest express. It took about 3 weeks for the order to process and ship. When the vines arrived they appeared professionally packaged. After about 30 days it was clear that 1 out of the 4 vines was a dud. I reached out to customer service over email and got a rude response saying to "follow the replacement instructions". I went back to the paper work that came with the vines and found a different email address to submit replacements claims to. So I sent my request to the other email which got no response. So I put my replacement claim back to the primary email and have gotten no response after 2 weeks. Seems to be the trend here. Buyer Beware. read more

First, I was missing an item in my order (I ordered 13 planting sleeves, got 12, so one vine did not have a protective sleeve and I had to buy one elsewhere immediately to prevent it from drying out). Second, none of the vines had their labels attached so I was unable to tell what the varieties were, which is utterly ridiculous. I wanted to have each variety grown together, not randomly. They are unresponsive to multiple phone calls and emails. I have no idea if the vines will grow or not, as I just planted them a couple weeks ago. I am a professional crop advisor of 25 years and have my own small farm so I know how to grow things. I bet if they don't bud out this spring, I'll have no luck getting a refund. Do not purchase from this company. I ordered grape vines from them 0 of 8 took root. $120 worth of dead plants. My second order never arrived and when I tried to contact them they would not respond to my emails and they never answer there phone. Before you order just try calling them first and you will see what I am talking about. 800-595-3754. I have noticed a lot of negative comments about this company. I really wanted to be happy. I asked them to ship my vines on the date I would be back in town. They shipped them 3 days early. I planted them immediately, following all of their instructions and using the special sleeves they sell. 2 of the 6 came up beautifully, 1 had just suckers, and the other 3 did nothing. Couldn't reach them by email or phone after weeks of trying I am going to have to try somewhere else. Ordered 21 Barbera vines and sleeves in March, and requested a 4/12 shipping date. Got an email on 4/5 saying vines were shipped. What I received was someone else's order with 13 vines, four or five different varieties. My order never came. Received no response to email or multiple voicemails. After five days of trying to contact them I'm going to dispute the charge on my credit card and try to find another supplier. Absolutely zero customer service. Terrible customer service!! Will not respond to calls or emails! They have completely ripped me off and have not shipped me my vines! Edit: Vines finally showed up and were planted as they specified with grow tubes....and out of 21 only 2 sprouted leaves. This is not to say they will even survive. I cannot believe a place in town recommended Harvest Express to buy grapevines. I emailed and called them several times and never heard back. I wrote another email last week to let them know I was canceling my order, if I hadn't heard back from them by the end of the day. A guy named Brad called and told me my order would go out on Monday. Brad told me that he would include 12 grapevine planting sleeves for all my trouble. I got the grapevines the 19th with no planting sleeves. Whatever reason did I expect differently?! This company has TERRIBLE customer service. I'm just happy I actually got the vines. Now if they grow fine, I may come back and adjust my review, but for now I just want to let people be educated. read more

Buyer Beware!!! I ordered and paid for four grape vines on 1/23/20. I received an email on 2/23/20 stating my order had been shipped. I haven't received the grape vines. I tracked the shipment through Fed Ex and I was informed by Fed Ex that my vines were never shipped. A tracking number was created by there was no shipment. It's 3/12/20 and I've called numerous times leaving messages; I've sent emails to this establishment and I had never received a response. Again, Buyer Beware!!! It's now middle of March and I still havent received them. I've sent emails and called numerous times to check the status but never is there an answer. Normally I check reviews prior to doing business with any company online, unfortunately for me I did not and ordered 4 vines from HE. I received an email stating my vines had shipped. About a month later they arrived. I planted them immediately and followed their planting instructions (sleeves, water, planting depth, etc). After one month I had life from 1 of the 4. The others were dead as a door nail. I called, sent emails, sent pictures and have not gotten any response. Like many other reviewers, I also didn't look at Yelp until it was too late and I had already ordered vines that never arrived. The co's communication was terrible. Virtually nonexistent. Out of around 10 emails and voicemails I left over five frustrating months, only two were answered. One email said the vines had been shipped, but Federal Express had no record of picking them up--only the label has been printed. It was very misleading. After I lost my cool and demanded a refund, my 30+ vines finally arrived in great shape. They are all alive and beginning to grow leaves. I did exactly what the company instructed and used planting sleeves (which I highly recommend now that I did it). If you want fast service and two-way communication, go somewhere else. If you have patience and don't mind waiting in the dark, your order will eventually be filled. read more

Ordered 6 Two year old seedlings and they were dead on arrival. Planted them as instructed and never saw any life on any of the plants. When you get them, they are always crap. Please, please, please, don't ever waste your money here. Harvest Express is a rip off. Everyone who knows my personal vineyard will tell you. Three years ago we decided to start a small home vineyard and bought two vines each of 8 varieties to trial on our property. The vines arrived in the spring, even tho we had expected a late fall/ early winter delivery, not the best time for planting in southern Arizona. The weather however cooperated and gave us several rainy days so we were able to get started nicely and 14 of the 16 vines survived. Fast forward two years and our first mini crush....we were surprised to see that the Merlot was a white grape!!! and the Alicante Buschet was not a tenturier grape. We sent an email with pictures to Harvest Express and got a snarky one liner back asking when the pictures were taken.We responded but dead silence. If you intend to put in a vineyard with specific varieties, avoid Harvest Express completely, there is no interest in customer support beyond taking your money. read more

These guys are getting killed here on Yelp so let me throw a little mercy their way. I ordered 25 vines back in March, got them in April followed instructions although I did not get 18" deep, but at least 12"+. Used sleeves that I bought from a different supplier. Only 2 of the 25 were duds. The rest are doing well. They need to get the success rate higher.. 95%. For vines that fail they should have an easy way to recompense. ORDER FROM THEM WITH CAUTION! They have poor customer service and are difficult to contact. We purchased vines from them in March. During the growth season, 11 plants did not grow. We left many voicemails and emails and finally someone responded. They promised to send new plants when the season is cooler. Wow I wish I had looked at reviews first. I ordered 5 vines total. they showed up VERY early in the season(March I believe). So early we got two snow storms while I had them in the house. Packaged in two separate bags (two varieties) packed in "sawdust" that was moist. Fast forward to when it's getting warm enough to plant. I've kept the plants moist and in the dark up until this point, and now that they are in a warmer spot I felt like I should have at least seen small buds start to pop..... nothing. Jumping to the point, NOT ONE VINE TOOK. Not one. $90 is a lot of money to me, and losing it all only to be told that I should have paid MORE MONEY for "planting sleeves" that they claim guarantee growth. If one, or even two of the vines didn't grow I'd be ok with it. Having all of them fail and now seeing a majority of people have problems with their vines just says what I wish I knew then.......... After receiving a set of 30 or so vines, I emailed to ask which clones they were, expecting a simple answer in the next few days. Nothing for two weeks. So I re-forwarded the email and asked again. I too like so many others, wish that I'd seen the yelp reviews cuz I'd like to give them less than one star. I ordered 10 Barbera vines along with the grow tubes, and when I opened the box I was shocked to see 10 very dead looking twigs with about 2 cups of some light brown mulch in a plastic bag. Anyway, I planted them protected in their grow tubes exactly as per the instructions on the day of receipt, and for 30 days have meticulously cared for them even checking/maintaining the soil moisture levels daily hoping for some sign of life...EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM IS DEAD! I have called and left about 8 -10 messages...Nada! If you do business with this organization, you deserve what you get. Maybe we could start a class action against them...may be the only way to get in touch with them for a replacement/refund. read more

I ordered 8 grape vines and planted them the same day that they were delivered. I planted them exactly how the instructions told me to. After 4 weeks only 1 grew and the other 7 were dead. I contacted Harvest Express and was told to send pictures which I did. A week went by and no response so I checked out these reviews. I was shocked and sent another email stating my discust. I emeadiaty received a message from Brad, he was very rude and scolded me for not sending pictures of the vines with a tape measure. I then resent the pictures as he requested but have not heard back from him. I file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I am also sorry that I did not check out the reviews first. I wish I would've have checked reviews before ordering from this company. I am experiencing similar issues. I ordered grapevines the first week of January 2020 to be delivered in February. I received an email that they shipped only to find out that only a label was created with no product. Numerous phone calls and emails have gone unanswered. Based on other reviews, it seems very unlikely I will get a refund. The window is closing soon for planting and my landscaper can't wait around forever. I will have to order from another company since I have no idea WHEN or even IF I will ever get my grapevines. DO NOT order from Harvest Express! read more

So wish I had seen the reviews for this business earlier. It started with me ordering bamboo stakes for my vineyard last year. I ordered them, then received an email confirming the order, but it would not ship until Spring 2020. I needed them when I ordered them, not the following year. I emailed them requested they send them immediately, but of course, no response. I called two more times and could only leave voicemail. No replies followed, so I waited for them until the Spring. They arrived, but then were missing two metal posts I ordered as samples for trellising. I once again emailed and called. Never heard anything. I've never experienced quite such bad customer service, EVER. If you are looking for vines or tubes try Double A Vineyards. They are consistent and terrific. If you need trellising try Ameritrellis. Hoping others don't fall into the trap of using this place. read more

I ordered these 2 grape vines "joy black seedless" and "Sauvignon-Blanc". They were shipped 3 days later and arrived in perfect condition as shown in the picture, bare-root protected in a bag mulch-like filled, all placed in a tall box. I followed the instructions sent with the package and now my vines are climbing up along the pergola corners, hopefully by next year they will give some shade! Am very satisfied with my order. No I didn't try to contact them because I didn't need to do so, just in case anybody wondered. read more

Same feedback as others. No customer service whatsoever. Won't fix , or even acknowledge an incomplete order. Didn't even occur to me to check Yelp first before ordering. Lesson learned. I understand when someone is a bad business person, but they take it to the next level and are clearly intentional in their lack of basic business ethics.
