Heavily disappointed in the service. The sense of entitlement was apparent. We walked in and asked to order a drink. We usually do tip at places we go to such as cosmetics and restaurants, but just for getting a coffee it didn't feel right to add on extra money just for a coffee. Being a college student and not working doesn't leave much room for extra finances; however, that shouldn't have to mean we can't be allowed to buy a coffee just because we don't want to throw in extra tips. The barista started staring at us while the tip option was coming up which I thought was strange, but when my girlfriend pressed the no tip option, the server began to grill and kept berating us to tip. Firstly looking at us and asking why we didn't tip, then proceeding to say "poor guy" referring to me to make my girlfriend feel bad. Whenever we have extra funds we usually do try to tip at these kinds of places (coffee & boba) s; however, we've never been questioned before when we choose not to. The sense of entitlement ruined my experience here. read more

I had their Harvest Iced Coffee and their hot Mocha Latte. I was impressed with the taste. There was maybe a little bit too much sugar but nowhere near as much as Starbucks. They had pretty good pastries to go with the coffee as well, which is another plus. The only thing I thought needed some work is space. The location is small. This gives the location a nice, cozy intimate feel, but there will be no Friends or HIMYM meetings of any kind happening. There was a table for two outside and that was pretty much the extent of it. This place has the best coffee in Bryan. Specifically: I like me a cortado, but I have also sampled a tumbler of the cold brew. They have all the nifty contraptions for making happy roasty bean mud. Every imaginable coffee extraction principle is following with surgical precision yet with the the tenderness of a bunny's mother. The decor is nice too--sometime you can find treasures embedded in the weathered brick wall. I heard someone found a rusted banjo-string and a fragment of a porcelain toast caddy. I was excited to hear about Harvest! Another great coffee shop in the BCS area! It's tricky to find since their storefront sign is basically a tiny "H" on their window, but it's at the corner of N. Main & 26th, right in the heart of downtown Bryan. They've only been open for a month, and they seem to be doing very well. It definitely rivals The Village (which is literally just a few steps away) in terms of its coffee, sandwiches, and hipstery-ness. Here's my breakdown: Coffee: I tried the Harvest Latte, which is made with vanilla bean (!) and cane? sugar. It's very smooth and moderately sweet. I haven't personally tried coffee from The Village, but people say it is un-freaking-believable. Sandwiches: Harvest takes the cake on this one. The bread is way better (The Village does not heat up their bread) and the sandwiches themselves are more....innovative? Harvest definitely has a smaller selection, but I'm sure they will add more with time. I tried the chicken pesto and sweet potato leek sandwiches -- both were of "I could probably make this at home for a third of the price" quality, but we still scarfed them down. Each sandwich comes with a small salad topped with a balsamic vinaigrette. Hipstery-ness: So, Harvest plays music on a RECORD PLAYER. As in vinyl records. You can also leave little notes in the cracks of the walls. I don't think you can top that level of artsy/indie/hipster-ness. Harvest's prices are comparable to those of The Village. The vanilla bean in the harvest latte did it for me, though. I could see the little black specks in my coffee!!!!!! I love that shiz. read more

Love this place. And it's in a great location (Downtown Bryan). The drinks are really tasty. I have gone several times this holiday season. I especially like the sleigh bell and the campfire. My dad always get the coconut, it's his favorite. The people that work there are very helpful. I saw chocolate at the bottom of my drink and was trying to get it out. A man came and handed me a straw to help me out. It was such a thoughtful gesture. Friendly, tasty, good location, good atmosphere... what else could you ask for!!! read more

As a college student, I seek out coffee shops in the area. I haven't found one like this. I immediately noticed the antiqued ceilings as I walked in and the man behind the counter put a vinyl on the record player and it played on the speakers. I ordered an Americano and a muffin. Both were great an delivered to my table. There were only a few people there which was nice since most coffee shops in the area are filled with college students. read more

Drove down to this location expecting "Free WiFi" as advertised on Harvest's yelp page, but was told we have to make a purchase to then be given an access code. Although this isn't the norm for most coffee shops, we decided to make a purchase anyways as we needed WiFi for homework. We were then given an access code that after entered in, only allows ONE device to log on to the network. We had 2 phones and 2 laptops that needed internet and was never informed that one purchase=one device for WiFi. Cmon, it's 2019 not 1995 keep with the times. This place is definitely a mixed gem tucked away in downtown Bryan. It has a pretty minimalist coffee menu with a few specialty latte. I asked for flavored latte that was on the less sweet side and the barista recommended the Harvest latte (vanilla based). It ended up still being pretty sweet, I think because they used raw sugar instead of processed sugar. Still looking forward to going back and trying their other creations read more

I really like the Latte and coffee cake here, you can feel the nutty flavor in the latte and the decoration here is unique and beautiful. The baristas are always very nice. If I must say something that I'm not so satisfied with, it must be the limited room. In the afternoon the seats are always hard to find. And sometimes wifi here does not working well. However it doesn't matter. I think it's a great place to have some great coffee and do some homework :P read more

The beauty of HCB is the warm and casual atmosphere as well as the friendly staff that are happy to work with you, to get your drink just the way you like it. How often do you see that happen. Located in downtown, the vague hipster vibe is obvious but thankfully not pretentious. The drink selection is vast, with an equally experienced staff serving it up in a timely fashion. If you want it done well, this is the place; if you want a Starbucks antiseptic commercial experience, then you have lost focus on your coffee priorities. The only issue is that they have a very limited food menu (especially lack of breakfast items), but what they do offer is reasonable. I found their roast beef sandwich to be a little too aromatic, and the overpowering taste of clove(?) kills the savory component you expect in beef. Even if you enjoy Moroccan food, this taste is a little over the top. Frankly it is best avoided altogether. Instead, dig on perhaps their best selling entree item, the Chicken Pesto paninni. A velvety and succulent sandwich with just the right amount of herbal seasoning to make you not want to put it down. All sandwiches come with a side of simple greens and vinaigrette, Bonus points for ample parking, free WiFi, alternative rock music softly playing out of the PA in the background. Consistently great coffee, I always make it a point to swing by here whenever I'm in the BCS area. Espresso drinks are on point! It's a nice spot to get some work done and the pastries are pretty tasty. It gets a little packed in the mornings but that's a good sign. read more

Harvest is a great place to get some homework done, meet with people, or just go grab a bite to eat. I love the atmosphere and the food is very good- not your average coffee shop food. Staff is always patient and helpful with recommendations on food and drinks. If you're a caffeine junkie, try the slo brew, which is just like cold brew but has more caffeine. I love their sweet potato leek sandwich! The only downside to this place is the lack of outlets and how small it is if you're looking to study. Other than that, fantastic food and service :) If you're going to study you will need to buy something for WIFI access and I would recommend calling to see how busy they are before driving over there. There has been times when I couldn't find an empty table and had to leave because it was so busy. read more

This was probably the best cup of coffee I've ever had. The Paloma blend from Amaya on drip here was amazing. Harvest has been my favorite cafe in B/CS since it opened. Unfortunately, the turnover in baristas and a lack of focus on training has resulted in extremely uneven lattes. Approximately one in three lattes (candlelight or mocha) is the best in town...unfortunately the other two trips I get lackluster lattes that either taste poor (bitter or too heavy on the mocha), or have substandard large-bubble foam that dissipates within seconds and provides no mouthfeel. The service is always pleasant here, and I like the environment/feel...but I'm thinking that 1541 might be the better cafe in the area because it's more consistent. Here's hoping that they put more of a focus on training and quality coffee in the future. read more
