I've had Matt come to our home to repair our Bosch dishwasher a couple of times over the past four years. I left a voicemail for him and he got back a day later. We scheduled an appointment last Monday. He arrived on time. Within an hour, which included removing the dishwasher from the built-in cabinets and taking apart the inaccessible drain pump and impeller, he was able to remove what had blocked the flow of water as well as assuring me that the existing parts were not damaged. Strands of Saran/plastic film got behind the filter. I had removed some of the film (according to Bosch's troubleshooting manual) but the real work required disassembly that I wasn't comfortable doing. Matt is my favourite contractor. He's fixed so many things in my unit over the years (washroom fan, washer/dryer, oven, etc.). He's a pleasure to be around and he's always keen to explain to me what's broken and how it can be fixed with or without his help. (I now replace my own broken fuses in the washer) Highly recommended. read more

Matthew "Matt" is Richard's son. Richard has a lot of good reviews on Homestars, but apparently he is retired. His son most likely is not a chip off the old block. If you are okay with a scruffy looking man in his late 30's coming to your home, does not maintain eye contact, and who looks like he just got off a night long drinking binge, hire him. But you might want to think twice about letting him do your repairs. Matthew initially did not invite my trust when he had a negative reaction about removing his shoes at the door, and avoided eye contact. I asked him remove his shoes and he did it with some hesitancy, but told me he would have to put them back on if "water was involved". He was scheduled to look at the stove and a couple of other appliances, and asked where the "power" was. So I started to pull the stove out. He said not there. What he meant was where was the circuit breaker. Really, this guy's attitude was off-putting. His whole appearance was derelict. We had worked a 12 hour night shift and were tired of waiting up for him, and then he wasn't being clear in what he was asking for. I pointed to the room the breaker switch was in, but my girlfriend got up off the couch to go and mess with it. I asked him if that's what he meant, because that's not what he said. So then a terse discussion ensued about semantics and who had an attitude. This man was so unprofessional, he didn't even touch the stove or ask where things were so he could do it himself. We were supposed to be sleeping and the concierge would have let him in and then he would have had to do everything himself. I asked him as much... what would he do if we weren't there? The whole situation was annoying, worst of all he didn't really seem to want to do the work. After an unpleasant 5 minute verbal altercation he said he was leaving. He didn't DO ANYTHING but argue, and left. I wished he had never come to our place. He obviously takes no pride in presentation or in doing his job. He also had the nerve to want to invoice the landlord of our condo unit for the 5 minutes he spent arguing with me. read more

Some of the worst customer service I've seen. VERY rude and condescending. Would absolutely not use. Consistently late to appointments and does not call ahead before arriving. Would not recommend at all. Stay away. read more

Great service --- dryer in my condo broke, they were able to schedule next day, came in the 1 hour window they said. Rate reasonable ---- fan belt had broke which cost $19.95 + labour + tax = $141 total. Very nice and pleasant and efficient -- had it done in about 40 min. Even gave me a few tips about proper dryer usage. Was given a couple names of companies from our condo office and glad I called this one. read more

I only gave them one star as there is no category for no star. They charged $120 to destroy my refrigerator which will cost me a further $1,900 to replace. In Ontario the incompetent tradesmen get paid regardless. Save your money and go to one of the many appliance repair companies that charge nothing if they can't fix your appliance. read more
