Let me start by saying my name is Andy and this is the first stop for me after spending 20 years in prison for falsely being accused of killing my wife and the golf pro she was having an affair with. I have spent the past 2 decades digging my way out and finally one night after having seen a friend of mine who could have proved I was innocent get killed I decided to make my break. So I had to crawl over a mile in the most vile stuff imaginable but I came out the other side clean. After collecting money from several banks around the area I left for London. I was thinking about Zihuatanejo in Mexico buts it's become such a tourist trap. So here we are now at the Hartley. In my opinion the Good is
1. The rooms are spacious compared to my cell but not by much. Cleanliness (wow that's a tough one I was a neat freak and except for the dust collected from digging at night I have to say my cell was much cleaner ). The sheets were much cleaner in prison also because I was part of the laundry crew. Except when the sisters bothered me we did a great job. Except for Boggs (the leader of the sisters, real nuisance to me ). cell there was more blood on this mattress than any cell in prison
2. Smell - hands down the Hartley wins. In prison it smells of bleach and other toxic cleaning smells. Who wants to smell lemon and fresh breeze all day. At the Hartley it smelled of pure natural clean body odor and various other delicious moldy smells.
3. Bathroom. This is a tie both places don't have a lock and they were both communal. I felt actually safer in prison after the guards starting protecting me for doing their taxes. Especially after Captain Hadley beat Boggs the leader of the sisters. One of the guys at the Hartley gave me a weird feeling
4 food. - hands down prison. That's with finding maggots in the food. I pretty sure this was just left over stuff they found I the trash outside the night before.
5- Staff. Hmmmm. I'm torn because there was definitely more men behind the counter at the Hartley just staring at you waiting to accommodate your every need it seemed. In prison though I definitely had a great relationship with the guards and warden. I remember one time we were tarring the roof and we just felt like men sipping beer on a hot day. I'll give it to prison
So overall I think it's a tie with both having some positives. For now I'll wait for my friend Red but I'll do it at a Holiday Inn after tonight. I sent you a postcard look for it Red read more
