Right in uptown Paris. Very nice tour that really delved deep into the process. The cats were adorable.

Very small distillery, but definitely one of the best of our tour. It's great to see the big distilleries but I recommend visiting small ones as well and this one is probably one of the best small ones we visited on our trip.

Had a great and informative tour with Lindsey. The distillery is really no frills but is a cool place and the staff were so friendly. Our favorite was the cask strength we tried. Bonus: 2 distillery cats!

Wonderful tour, great staff with some tasty bourbon. The tour guide/distiller was very knowledgeable and fun. Paris is a great small town. Cool shops and def try the bakery. We purchased two bottles: Frankenwhiskey- blended 113 proof of left over bits of past mash's that has a major flavor pop. The bourbon label was by the local artist Tony Moore of the Walking Dead fame. Kentucky Spirits Ltd. -Single barrel select. 118 proof 4 year and old gem. Great place and a beautiful drive through Kentucky horse country o

I highly recommend the distiller for the day tour. You learn a lot and it's a great experience overall. We tried so many great whiskeys right from the barrel. Plus my wife loved the cats. Lol

Great building and parking across street. Loved the tour and employees were friendly and knowledgeable. Best of all... delicious tasting bourbon. Highly recommend you stop by.

Waited and waited and waited for "her" and where ever she was, was not promoting the product or selling the $6 tastings we asked for. We all just waited, waited some more and after 25 minutes in uncomfortable chairs I finally yelled back into the work area to at least get our Field Guide stamped so we could escape with no tastings or bottles. We have been to some cool small distilleries and this one has potential, maybe if "she" was there to help us. We tend to over purchase and today we have more bourbon funds for somewhere else.

Great tours and better bourbon! See everything from the making process to the tastings. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable and let us try all their products!

One of the better tours we have had and we liked all of their spirits...rum, gin, whiskey and the bourbon. Tour guide was very personable as well as the three cats. Definitely a craft distiller with 3-5 people doing it all. Tasting was great and even gave a taste of a couple extras. More intimate tour than many others. Had dinner at Trackside at the Depot down the street which was also excellent.

The atmosphere is great and walking around their distillery is very cool. It is the only Bourbon Distillery in Bourbon County.

This is the birthplace of bourbon. John Pogue is a trained geologist, who turned his talents and knowledge toward the family business of distilling. The beautiful focus of the property is the 1845 home of John's ancestors, which is on the US Department of the Interior National Register of Historic Places. Old Pogue "Masters Select" has appeared on the Wine Enthusiast "Top 50 Spirits" list. One of the "secrets" of Kentucky Bourbon, John explained, is the unique limestone aquifer of the region. It contains no iron, through which the water filters. Be sure to book your tour in advance online. The product of this small batch craft distillery is to my understanding only available on-site. Another tip is to pick up a copy of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Passport and Field Guide Book. It is available online or in person. Highly recommend whether you're stopping in for a tasting or staying overnight--you won't be disappointed.

Tasting and to our surprise we got a keepsake taster and got to taste from 5 barrels direct all the whiskeys were good with 3 out of the 5 being options for us to bottle. You are able to fill your own bottle of whiskey from any of the barrels which was definitely an experience. Compared to other distilleries, I thought the pricing was definitely worth it for the bottle. The tasting on the other hand was a little overpriced but for us it was still very worth it and one of our favorite distilleries all weekend. Lastly, the Photo Booth was a nice touch and made the experience that much more enjoyable! Overall, I would recommend any and everyone to check out Whiskey Thief if you are looking for a unique experience on the trail. Please note, I did not take a tour so I'm not sure what that would be like. It is included with your tasting admission.

I'm just meh on it but I do feel living in KY requires certain requirements. And visiting, being a short-term bourbon alcoholic, or at least knowing a bit about bourbon is one of those things. Racking my brain for the best first, I went back and forth between a few of them. We will visit some of the others but I feel like Buffalo Trace is a good starter. It provides a bit of country, a bit of history, and there's a FREE tasting tour. It is crowded though. The bourbon craze last decade... Pappy, Eagle Rare, Blanton's, and a few other drinks put this place on the map for so many in the bourbon world. So it stays busy. It does get extra points for having a FREE tour and tasting but ultimately I think this tour focuses more on history. In my opinion, Buffalo Trace isn't the place/tour to come to to learn how it's made. There are far better distilleries for that. The tour is also a little disappointing. Like I said before, you learn a bit about history but even rickhouses... you step foot in one. It's a bit cramped and you don't get to walk around it. Again, there are far better distilleries that show off their rickhouses. It's the same with the tasting. I haven't done this tasting in a while but I was crazy surprised that they had samples of their vodka on their tasting. They did have Weller 107 on display for the tasting... and we were there when they were dropping bottles in the gift shop. I'm surprised it hasn't turned into every(almost) other product that Buffalo Trace has... it's allocated before it ever hits the shelves. Ultimately, I'd visit this distillery for the history. Just expect to visit other distilleries to learn how it's made, see the process, and in some cases, the others have grounds that are more beautiful.
