Right in uptown Paris. Very nice tour that really delved deep into the process. The cats were adorable.

Very small distillery, but definitely one of the best of our tour. It's great to see the big distilleries but I recommend visiting small ones as well and this one is probably one of the best small ones we visited on our trip.

Had a great and informative tour with Lindsey. The distillery is really no frills but is a cool place and the staff were so friendly. Our favorite was the cask strength we tried. Bonus: 2 distillery cats!

I highly recommend the distiller for the day tour. You learn a lot and it's a great experience overall. We tried so many great whiskeys right from the barrel. Plus my wife loved the cats. Lol

Wonderful tour, great staff with some tasty bourbon. The tour guide/distiller was very knowledgeable and fun. Paris is a great small town. Cool shops and def try the bakery. We purchased two bottles: Frankenwhiskey- blended 113 proof of left over bits of past mash's that has a major flavor pop. The bourbon label was by the local artist Tony Moore of the Walking Dead fame. Kentucky Spirits Ltd. -Single barrel select. 118 proof 4 year and old gem. Great place and a beautiful drive through Kentucky horse country o

Very nice staff, very small distillery. Cool atmosphere and decent pours. Worth the trip.

Great building and parking across street. Loved the tour and employees were friendly and knowledgeable. Best of all... delicious tasting bourbon. Highly recommend you stop by.

Waited and waited and waited for "her" and where ever she was, was not promoting the product or selling the $6 tastings we asked for. We all just waited, waited some more and after 25 minutes in uncomfortable chairs I finally yelled back into the work area to at least get our Field Guide stamped so we could escape with no tastings or bottles. We have been to some cool small distilleries and this one has potential, maybe if "she" was there to help us. We tend to over purchase and today we have more bourbon funds for somewhere else.

Great tours and better bourbon! See everything from the making process to the tastings. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable and let us try all their products!

One of the better tours we have had and we liked all of their spirits...rum, gin, whiskey and the bourbon. Tour guide was very personable as well as the three cats. Definitely a craft distiller with 3-5 people doing it all. Tasting was great and even gave a taste of a couple extras. More intimate tour than many others. Had dinner at Trackside at the Depot down the street which was also excellent.

My daughter or me a tour for Christmas present. Never new it was there. It's basically a mom & pop operation. Tour just takes a few min, It was nice. The tasting is well worth it. Everything at they brewed is very good. Local coffee shop down the street roast coffee beans for them & They put then in used bourbon barrels. We bought some to try at home. They use small 7 gallon barrels, So they age there bourbon faster than big distillery's. On Friday & Saturday nights they a bar/game room that fix some unique drinks. **PS the coffee is great.........,

Although I don't have much of a refined palate for whiskey or bourbon, my husband does and he was very impressed!

This is the birthplace of bourbon. John Pogue is a trained geologist, who turned his talents and knowledge toward the family business of distilling. The beautiful focus of the property is the 1845 home of John's ancestors, which is on the US Department of the Interior National Register of Historic Places. Old Pogue "Masters Select" has appeared on the Wine Enthusiast "Top 50 Spirits" list. One of the "secrets" of Kentucky Bourbon, John explained, is the unique limestone aquifer of the region. It contains no iron, through which the water filters. Be sure to book your tour in advance online. The product of this small batch craft distillery is to my understanding only available on-site. Another tip is to pick up a copy of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Passport and Field Guide Book. It is available online or in person. Tons of interesting information about distilleries in Kentucky, if you plan on visiting others as well. Visits, and completing the entire trail, unlock special rewards!

There are two buildings and you check in at the one building, near a parking lot, but then get on a tour bus and they take you to the other building, which has the gift shop. It seemed a bit counterintuitive to start at the other building, then. Before this, I was super hungry, so we went to their bar area in the gift shop and ordered the charcuterie, which ended up just being like a metal box with some meats, cheeses, and other things, and a bag with a few pretzels in it. Disappointing especially for $33, although it kinda worked out because we only had a half-hour before the tour. I didn't know that Woodford Reserve has actually only been around since 1996 but the campus they purchased has buildings from 1890 and later - I would've loved to have heard more about that history even though it wasn't technically Woodford's. At the end of the tour, they return you to the gift shop and that's where you do the tasting - there is a private tasting room. I should probably note that we did the basic tour - it was $35 and my husband said you could get a similar tasting to the one we got, in the gift shop area, for $30, which made the tour only $5, which isn't bad. I did end up buying a pin, a magnet, and a sampler box of their bourbon treats (chocolates etc. - expensive, at $46 or so, but looks good) and my husband bought a few of their bottles. However, next time we are in Louisville we can probably skip this one, I'm thinking.

The distillation aromas in the air are intoxicating. We arranged a tour of the facility in combination with a river cruise on the Kentucky River. We signed in for our tour early, so we could shop in the distillery gift shop. I spent several hundred dollars in the gift shop buying special bourbons that you can only purchase at the distillery. I even bought Buffalo Trace dog treats. Plan at least an hour for shopping as lines are long. Fred was our tour guide. Fred was knowledgeable, humorous, interesting and passionate about Buffalo Trace. We learned the history of the distillery, saw how barrels are made, transported and stored and saw the bottling process for the Blanton bourbons. We concluded our tour with a tasting of four bourbons and a sample Kentucky Bourbon Ball. Unfortunately, the tasting was a bit rushed for us. The bourbons were good and I would have liked to make additional purchases after the tasting, but we were not able to because of the timeline for the river cruise. Parking is free. The line to check ids is long but moves quickly. There are restrooms available. I'm told dogs and kids are welcome with some restrictions, but I didn't see any. The tour of Buffalo Trace should be on every bourbon drinker or history buff's bucket list. I want to go back.
