Better than average bar for the area. Harry's Long Bar is actually among the top places to go in Blue Island. It certainly isn't anything impressive but for around here it's actually a pretty okay place. Has lots of great cheaper drinks as well as some not so bad food. The bar also has entertainment like slots. A bar that happens to have a kitchen. It's more so of a bar than a restaurant. That means the drinks are better than the food it seems. Among the bigger of the bars around here. Has plenty of room for groups and parties. Came in for the drink specials going on. We got some of the cheaper ones like whiskey. Food is the usual stuff fried and greasy. It's about $6 for chips and salsa. Also they have free popcorn but how fresh is it. The rest of the menu is greasy burgers and mystery looking meats. Casual place that's great for watching games or events. It's located at Western and Grove. There's lots of room for parties. read more

Harry's Long Bar - Margarita With Chips And Guacamole - Burgers Near Me - Blue Island, Illinois

Harry's is a bar's bar. One pool table, an enclosed outdoor deck & smoking section. The popcorn machine is often overlooked. Large bar, usually dark anytime of day and the wings are good. This is a local & transportation bar. It's a fun and kind of classic place. If You are looking for a chain upscale apple Toni spot - this is not for You... read more

Easily one of my favorite places to go to in Blue Island besides Krave. The drinks and food here are decently priced and portioned. The food is actually delicious too. I also like that they have popcorn for customers to snack on. One thing about this place is that they are really big on IDs. They will scan it and ask for it every time. They also have free parking on premise, which sets them apart from others in the area that do not. My partner and I love their chicken tacos -- it's different from other places because it's shredded chicken. It's also not dry or bland, and everything is freshly made to order. Whenever I feel like going out, this is the place I keep coming back to. The service here is also friendly. I do wish they have champagne for a mimosa or ginger beer for a Moscow Mule. Though it's not a deal breaker for me. It's always a good time whether it's during the week or a weekend. I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area. read more

Drinks were mid but the food was either dipped in old grease or old fries that was refried... either way I will not be coming back here, bitter and disgusting taste left in my mouth and no offer to refund or exchange them for something different... they didn't even say they will give fresh grease fries... it was just a whatever type of attitude read more

Harry's Long Bar - Old greasy fries - Burgers Near Me - Blue Island, Illinois

Only reason they get two stars is because the bartender on Tuesday is nice. They are out of their special (ribs) At 6pm. Third time in four visits. They are also out of chicken . I went with the burrito and it was salty as hell and a barely filled burrito. The Chips and salsa came out chewy and oilier than any chip I've ever seen. The elote had no cheese in it whatsoever. My girls burger was very sloppy and greasy. Lastly 8 people in the bar and it took 45 min to get this small order. What the heck happened Harry read more

Under new ownership, Harry's Long Bar in Blue Island shines with respectful management.

I beginning to love Harry's! Ive been here just a few times and I will definitely continue to return when I'm in the mood for a good drink and food. Located in blue island surrounded by other bars not so far in the neighborhood, Harrys is by far the Best in this little town. The bartenders are great. My favorite drink here is the long island iced tea. During the week it is very nice with little noise. The weekends can get pretty crazy. They have daily specials on the food and drinks. You can also come in and enjoy the game while you socialize and drink. Definitely try their wings and tacos! Tacos are amazing. If you're in the area, stop in, you will not be dissapointed. read more

I love Harry's. I like to go on Tuesdays and Thursdays for $10 domestic pitcher and 10 wings. I f***ing love their wings!!!! They're perfect EVERY time. Extra crispy and flavorful and their cheese fries with the Harry's sauce. I wouldn't expect tacos to be that great here but they are delicious! After coming here so many times, the bartenders are cool too. read more

I've been here twice, the first time for a friend's birthday party and I enjoyed myself, food was great (especially the wings and tacos). However, I came here last night and was very disappointed. The food was ok (wings and an order of chips and salsa, the chips were fresh and hot). The service was HORRIBLE. The bartender was not friendly at all, rarely came by even though I waved her over several times, they messed up our order, and when the bartender gave me my change she just threw it on the table. Will not be back. read more

The servers in this place are rude & don't pay attention to the customers. The bar has food and drink specials that they don't offer you when make an order or ask about drink specials. We had an issue with an order, I mentioned it to the owner "Harry" while he was sitting at the bar talking to some customers. He replied, "once an order is rung up it can't be changed". This was my second time here, the first time was awesome. I won't be back. The Thursday night bartender/s Renate F and another young lady suck! On a POSITIVE NOTE the Chicken Wings was awesome!! read more

GREAT FOOD! Live entertainment on the weekends and great Bartenders! Local bar with friendly faces and the owner will walk in and say hello to everyone in his bar! It makes you feel like one of the family! As far as what one other guy wrote (AJ.W) I'd never seen any of the bartenders disrespect any customer or customers! And that blonde bartender your talking about has been working at Harry's for some years now and I've only seen her be the utmost friendly to every and anyone that walks into Harry's! Four Stars from me! read more

Harry's Long Bar - LIFE'S A BEER AT HARRY"S LONG BAR - Burgers Near Me - Blue Island, Illinois

Yeah its big. Yeah they have TV's with sports on. I came here on Saturday at 7p. There were only a couple of people who had some fried food they were munching on. No bartender. 10 minutes later the back door opened, and it's the bartender, who was outside smoking. I got a beer, and asked if the Hawks game could be turned on. Oh, ok. She turned them on some TV's, and immediately went to a gaming machines and sat down. I finished my beer and a minute later she gave me another, and sat back down over at a machine. After she won some, she headed back to smoke. Some more people came in, so she came back and started serving them. When she was by me I asked how much a Jameson on the rocks was. She told me to hold on, she was serving someone else. No problem. A couple of minutes later a glass was plopped down and my twenty bucks snatched up. She came back with twelve bucks! I asked if this was correct, 8 bucks for a shot over ice. I mean we're not downtown! Yeah she said. I told her I asked how much it was first. She said sorry, didn't hear that part. I chalked it up to "last time here anyway". I had been here a year or so before with a different bartender and it was a better experience. Unfortunately, your people in front (like bartenders ) are the face of your business, and when they're bad, it can bring down your business. In this case..... EPIC FAIL. read more

Harry is great. Straight up guy with everyone. Great food. ( God Bless Zeke ) plenty of room and nice mix of people

Alright, the first thing that comes to mind is PERFECT Jager Bombs in a FROSTED mug, they still do the glass shots if you ask. I hear the apple pie shots are really good, but I don't like appie pie. LOL Tacos are some the best in the whole Chicagoland area. Back patio for smokers. read more

Great place! Great atmosphere! Best tacos and wings in town!! The owner Harry and his staff make you feel so welcomed! The DJs on Saturday night are awesome and play an array of music! Live bands on some Saturdays to switch it up and keep it fresh! Highly recommend! read more

I wanted to give this place 1 star solely based on service but because the wings are the bomb and because they have good specials, I'll give it at least 2. There's a bartender who is VERY rude, with that attitude why even work as a bartender. Not sure if she throws the race card at us but she always seems to be extra rude and require "extra" forms of ID even though our first ones always show we are way over 21 and they are valid . WTF. When We go it's usually more than 5 people, so with that said, we're going to be walking out of there and go spend our money else where the moment she starts giving us attitude. read more

I love the Nachos and the Wings but I went on Sunday to have a nice evening with my husband and the bartender ask us what do we want and we just ask for a soda and she ask water soda or regular and i say regular and she stated that water soda is regular and then i answer water soda then and she just give me mineral water so fine, my husband ask not to say anything and I agree and then for us to order something took a wile because she just keep ignoring us or telling us to wait. The bar was not full and she just live us waiting just to go and help the friends that just got in to the bar to serve them and talk to them. Next time I will definitely call the manager. She don't have a fucking clue about costumer service. read more

Love this place! My husband took me here for the first time about a year ago, and we go on Tuesday's when we want tacos and a pitcher or two of beer. Great place to hang out, and I have attended events held here for birthdays and other celebrations as well. read more

My wife and I got kick out of this establishment for (her) having an expired id (Expired just a few weeks ago). Keep in mind that I had a valid ID and we are over 25. It was supposed to be a family night and obviously not a party. We asked if we could stay and not order alcohol, but the bar tender didn't care. I understand the bar has the right to do it, but I also think that it was reasonable to just let us stay in. We were not putting us, the bar, or anyone in danger. At the end of the day, I really doubt that the police would have gotten involved. The moment she said "I am not trying to be a b*tch but..." I knew the contrary was bound to happen. read more

Went here with my mother and father who have both lived in Blue Island for over 30 years but have never tried Harry's. My mom was looking forward to having some good ol' pub food but as soon as we walked in we were given the cold shoulder. My mom moved a chair from one table to the one next to it to be closer to the window. When doing so the bartender was giving her a weird look. When I asked..."is there a problem?" The bartender responded back in a very smart ass tone..."no problem here but are you ok" and then continued to look at me funny and then said something under her breath that made the gentleman sitting in front of her laugh. So when I saw this I told my parents lets get up and go to Double Play down the street which was a much better experience and were very friendly. read more

This lace has great service and the people here are say to get along with. Best tacos. Brest late night food!

I waited an hour and 30 minutes (currently still waiting) for 1 taco and chips and guacamole. The bartender was slow and didn't take in consideration on how long I've been waiting for ONE TACO. 2 hours? Seriously??? Probably won't come back. read more

Great place and friendly staff where you'll always feel welcomed especially by the owner himself. This bar has great food and has been on tv for their tacos. The previous message sounds like an immature and rogue person acting soley on his own to promote another close-by bar. read more
