Ahhh fish and chips. Sometimes, not often mind you, but sometimes, the body gets a craving for deep fried protein and carbohydrate. Usually it's when some inconsiderate person has been eating chips on the train coming home. I mean seriously, how can people do that? How can they just sit there munching away oblivious, while the rest of the carriage states at them with a mix of anger and envy. Either bring enough for everyone or don't do it. Should be a law against chips on the train... But anyway, where was I. Oh yes... A few nights ago we gave in to our cravings and went in search of fish and chips.
Hooked and cooked is our local fish and chip joint. It has been on the mall in hornsby for as long as I can remember. The do a very nice fish and chips. I tend to go for the classic battered fish. The more refined members of the family go for the grilled. We can feed the whole family enough fried starch and protein to keep the teenagers full for under fifty bucks. The serves of chips are very generous.
It's usually best to eat in. They have plenty of space and it's nice sitting on the mall when the weather is good. If you take it home you end up with soggy chips and soggy, greasy batter. Don't do it. Fish and chips are meat to be consumed fresh and hot and straight away. read more
