It's such a relief to know that you don't need to trek into the Fish Markets for quality seafood…read more These guys have an embarrassment of fish, prawns, every crustacean you can dream of - all on offer on the upper north shore. Phew. Come Christmas, Seafood @ Hornsby is an absolute zoo. They extend their hours to suit, but you're still better off ordering ahead of time and simply collecting your bounty on Christmas Eve. I'm already mentally making my order for another scrumptious seafood Australian Christmas. But in the meantime, I'll be sure to pop in here on occasion, just to keep my omega 3 levels up (read: buy and eat way too much seafood).

As I entered I was asked if I needed assistance, I briefly explained I was just looking but would ask if I had any questions. Two steps later, I was asked again, then again, then again ... And finally an aggressive and snotty attendent decided to lecture me that they didn't like "Pricer's from Woolies trolling their store for pricing info". I explained AGAIN I was just looking and assured her I was not from Woolies. She carried on yapping at me for a while until I finally just left in disgust. The rude attitude, unwillingness to listen, and sheer gross paranoia were just not worth putting up with for a simple puchase of fish. I would suggest focusing on providing a service to the customers and prospects who enter your store rather than alienating them would be a better approach to growing your business. Chasing ghosts and abusing prospects is a losing strategy. I for one will not return ... And anyone I speak to will be advised to go to Windybank or DeCosti where they focus on friendly service and quality product.

I love this place, and on the occasion that I have been there with someone who is Vietnamese,…read morethey've remarked how genuine the food is (I'd have no idea). The place is pretty cheap feeling - you're like to put your phone down on the table, an then have to peel it off, but the food is fantastic. I've been here countless times, and will keep going back. The service is direct but efficient. No fuss eating - I love it. My staple starter is the rice paper rolls. Set of three, I could eat them all myself - but usually have my arm bent into sharing them. Everything I've eaten, which I doubt I could recall now, has been delicious - the laksa is spicy and hot, and a favourite - but really, anything they serve up is going to be good. The prices are very reasonable, and you have to check this out if you're in the Hornsby area. Ignore the food court at the Westfield, and get down here.

So I found myself on an M60 bus in the wrong direction, and the driver dumped me at Hornsby. Decided to try out the local Yelp. Ordered a combination pho based on the philosophy that this is *the* dish to judge a Viet restaurant on, if you only get one chance. I've had them since I was a kid, everywhere outside of Vietnam itself. The result was a bit disappointing, really. The ingredients are there (you can see for yourself on the photo), and based on looks it would seem a great meal. However, the soup wasn't hot enough to actually cook any sprouts, nor release the lemon zest. The flavour, though genuine, was also a bit dilute - this leaves me wishing for the richer variants found in Bankstown, or Hurstville. The tea is standard, and the locals seem to enjoy themselves. So it's evidently worth a try.

More like a plate of potato with a squeeze of lobster on top The beef burger looks like it was made of rubber (and had the texture of it too) Saying you can do gluten free - Does not mean replace regular buns with gf toast - seriously there is so much gf options around And the manager - why are you just standing around near the kitchen - you look like you are just taking up space. When the place started to empty out, the wait staff started to pay attention to us but it was too little for the quality of the food. Pro - it's funny watching some manager guy dictate orders to people while not doing any actual work Con - food. Wait time.

Nice decor and comfortable surroundings but I wish they had spent some of that money on a better chef. We paid a reasonable price for a rib eye but what on earth are they doing in the kitchen? It appears the steaks are boiled in prep and then chucked on the grill when you order. What a terrible way to treat such a wonderful piece of meat. It was not busy the night we went so we got good service but the steak lost us so we headed to Oliver Brown for a great coffee and dessert. They get three stars because of the good service and fit out. If I was just reviewing the food it would be 1/5.
