The park area at the corner of royal and Greenville is nice and the trail stays nice for a little ways, but eventually turns to an area that's really polluted with trash and stays that way for a good while. I didn't finish the trail because of it.

It's things like the development of Northhaven Trail that make me really proud of Dallas. The land…read morewhere an easement of power lines stands now is home to a very nice bike and jogging trail. The trail itself is new, so it is in outstanding condition. It is well marked, and stop lights were added at Hillcrest Road specifically for crossing it while traveling the trail. The trail has two water fountain stations and recycling bins. Dogs are allowed as long as they are on a leash. The end of the trail near Central Expressway heading west slightly climbs for a bit, which is not difficult on bike unless you are a very green beginner, and even then, it is completely doable. The rest of the trail is flat. The neighborhood it passes through is very safe. The trail runs through grass lined with native Texas wildflowers. I even saw a bluebonnet amongst the spring blooms. It was not very crowded the day I used it; I saw a few young moms with strollers, a teen on roller-blades, and few kids walking their dog. There are plans to extend this trail east to join with White Rock Trail, and west to Irving. For now however, it is a pleasant, but short, 2.5 mile jaunt. Perfect for those who are looking for a short excursion or to start a work-out routine. It is also recommended that you tackle Northhaven Trail in your favorite sweats while listening to the theme song from "Rocky", and when you reach the end of the trail, face Preston Road and shout "Adriiiaaan". Yeah, tough guy. That's what I'm talkin' about.

After reassembling…read moreit, I needed some brake adjustments and stopped by Bike Mart Richardson near closing time. Despite the late hour, they welcomed me in and provided exceptional service. I came in expecting just a brake adjustment, but they went above and beyond--tuning my derailleurs better than they've ever been. The bike ran like new when they finished. They even took the time to recommend some great local training routes, which was incredibly helpful since I'm not from the area. The combination of their technical expertise, willingness to help at the end of their day, and genuine friendliness made this a memorable experience. If you're in the Richardson area and need bike service, I highly recommend Bike Mart Richardson. They turned what could have been a training setback into a seamless experience. Thank you to the team for taking such great care of me and my bike!

Drove the 30 min. to RBM Richardson. Explained I just need the one cable replaced and said I'll just go look around. Dude says "oh no, it will be at least 2 wks". I said you must have misunderstood, I just want a shifter cable replaced and not having just fallen off a turnip wagon I know that's a 10 minute job. In any case, that's not happening, so after 20 years and several bike purchases, I'm now a Trek shop in Allen customer. The only thing RBM has that I can't get online is bike service and repairs. You'd think they'd be making an effort not to eff that up too.

Today, five years later, we just walked right in with no line and no assigned groups. My impression in 2025 was much better. The store was not too crowded so we were able to leisurely browse and really take in everything in the store. The selection is outstanding. if they don't have something related to camping or outdoor life, it does not exist. This trip the wife was looking for some shoes while the kid and I looked at everything else. She enjoyed checking out the tents and sleeping bags. She rode on one of the bikes. It was like a play day. I liked that there were employees to help and answer questions. Noah in the bike section was great. Employees were very friendly. The quality of the products they sell is excellent. Prices are high but you get value and what you buy is going to last a while. We ended up not buying anything, but we enjoyed the store nonetheless.

This held true on my last-minute trip to this location a day before leaving the country for a couple weeks. I wanted a backpack that had enough storage to allow me to take multiple flights between the countries I was visiting and it would fit in smaller overhead luggage spaces. The staff member who approached me was very helpful, showed me myriad options that fit into my specs and never tried to upcharge me. I was in and out in under 45 minutes, and I love this bag.
