Perfect spot for fishing, swimming, or just hanging out to read a book in the sand. Dogs welcome on the path. Swimming in the lagoon is separate from where you fish by a path, so your dog can join you for fishing. There are spots to stand and fish, or you can bring a boat out onto the water. Small playground and space to run around for kids. Definitely would recommend! I plan to return here soon.

Meandering along our Keys journey led us to Harry Harris, and it was a happy trip. During the week people were sparse and there was plenty of room to spread out. Grab a table if you brought your meal, or just plunk down on the sand to gaze at the ocean. Some swing sets will keep the young and young at heart engaged, and we saw several families during our trips. Yes, trips: we enjoyed it enough to stop by on the way north as well. Established shade makes the sun bearable, and the stroll around the arched path into the ocean is relaxing. On weekends and holidays there's a charge per car, but that's worth it for this place, although likely busier than midweek. We'll come back again whenever heading through.

Nice ocean side park, with a great boat ramp and trailer parking. Picnic area and playground. There's a fee to get in but They have a military discount.

Harry Harris Park is a nice park to visit.  It's got a beach with a boat launch, a playground area, and lots of grills, tables, and shade to sit in.   Tip: There are several nice short walking trails here if you're looking to take a stroll.  There's also a bathroom. The big drawback of this place is that it isn't a good place to either snorkel or swim.  That's because it's a large watering hole that's been walled in by rocks, so there isn't a lot of room in the water...

This park is more like 2 1/2 stars. It was very easy to find as we just followed all the signs. As many times as I've been to Key Largo and the area, I've never been here. Nor did I realize that the key was so wide at this point. We even got to see Rodriguez Key, a long island rising out of the water, to the northeast from the park -- another part of the keys I never knew existed. After following the signs we arrived at the beach area. There was no admission. It's not the best beach by any means -- beaches in the keys are usually man made or bits of coral, and this was a more a flat area of some sand. Nothing exciting. The small park has covered picnic tables, an enclosed playground for kids, a rock enclosed lagoon for swimming, and a boat launch area. There was also an area further down with picnic pavilions and grills. We walked out on to part of the rocks surrounding the lagoon. The path is now barricaded by a fence saying "no trespassing", so that you can't walk out onto the entire semi circle. There was a lovely breeze coming off the ocean. I'm glad we went just to discover a new place.

I went to the park not knowing if it was open or not. But June 24 was a Wednesday and it was open to the public. Here you can take your boat or jet ski where you can also take it to the water since the have a deck for it. It has an ample parking garage with plenty of space. They also have a playground and many places with chairs and benches to sit down and enjoy the park with the Waterview.

Finally here! Nice place I heard about by the locals. Quiet area, nice ocean view, suitable for children and you can bring Fido too!

Not a bad place to come should you are fine with lagoon features and not an actual beach. There is a fee to come. The water is warm but the seaweed is very heavy. It's great for families with small kids as there is an actual kids play area. For those choosing to bring their water craft then there is a launch area with minimal parking.

Beautiful little spot in front of the water with a ramp for boats. Excellent for kids with a safe playground and enclosed beach area. My girls had a great time. Not good for dogs, unfortunately, which is why I can't give it a 4 star. Had a bitter experience with the park guard (not sure she can be called a ranger). This person threatened to call the sheriff on me if I didn't leave the park immediately while she yelled and pointed her finger at me from her cart even as I was on my way out with between dogs on a leash.

Beautiful place, I really cannot complain about the beauty of nature, but the situation with the human made is a different story. Bathrooms are really nasty, I didn't feel like going in there, there was toilet paper everywhere, you could smell urine everywhere, and the "shower" was kind of a mess as well, I don't blame in on the park but they people who goes there, and believe that being so dirty and nasty is ok because somebody is will clean after them. The secured beach surrounded by rocks is super nice, it's just the right size for toddlers, but you cannot really do anything else, if you want deeper waters then you have to go where the coral is and is kind of sharp, so I recommend you to have water shoes on. The kiddie park in there is somehow dirty and without a lot of stuff in the playground, they donned to put more things in there.

Followed the directions here and ended up in a community - searched on maps and it showed it way further away so this address isn't correct.

Refused admission because I was driving a van, despite numerous pickups and large vehicles in the parking lot.

we were DETERMINED to find a beach and I'm glad that the lonely, beachless roads led us to Tavernier and then to Harry Harris Park.

Good place for dogs and baby buggies. The Meh: the only thing to see is a rock wall. We saw 1 small bird, one small lizard in the parking lot, some berries & deer poop. Yeah there's plenty of botanical specimens if that means trees. If you're looking for flowers or wildlife, you might be disappointed.

He left. So we walk in and look at the map, there's trails to walk, a river to see. We didn't know what to expect, but we weren't seeing much of anything to write home about, so we decided to go off trail to get a closer look at a pretty little stream nearby. Just then a woman in a yellow vest comes walking out of the brush calling out, "Don't worry, I'm a human, not an animal!" She was the most interesting thing we'd seen so far, so we asked her if she worked at the park and she told us the most fascinating story. She's a python hunter! She catches invasive python snakes with her bare hands and puts them in the bags she had tied around her waist, takes them back to a place where they humanely euthanize them, and then the hunter has the option to collect the skins, which she does and makes jewelry out of it. She gets more money catching pythons in the Keys rather than the Everglades because the Keys are harder to get to and find the snakes. She told us more about her life and story to go into here, but I just want to say that while I was polite and listened to her, I am animal rights activist so I am 100% against catching even invasive animals and killing them. Hopefully one day we'll come up with a better solution to this problem. We didn't see any snakes while we were in the park, but just know that they are there. She said they'll probably scurry away from you, but some are big enough to take down and eat whole deer and gators. If you run into her there and she finds a gigantic snake, she may call on you to help her catch it. At least, that's what she told us.

We found a seat under the blue tent next to the dock which is used to stage the guess, they start boarding 15 minutes before the departure time and it's really a simple task even though they still manually check-in each guest as you board the vessel verses simply scanning the QR Code on the ticket or app. The 65' Catamaran is clean and spacious and the crew is extremely friendly, the tour guides are very knowledgeable and bubbly so they make every effort to make it fun. You can bring your non-alcoholic beverages on board since they no longer operate the snack bar, they do have (2) heads at the rear of the boat (restrooms). Once the boat leaves the dock it's a slow ride through the mangrove lined canal to the open water, the no wake zone continues until you pass the last navigational buoys, then he kick it up to about 18 knots until he approaches the reef I think that ride was about 25 minutes, it a nice relaxing ride, the interior cabin is air conditioned but the real adventure is on the open air top deck where the breeze is refreshing and you get the real outdoorsy experience. Once the boat arrives at the reef the captain brings the vessel to an idle and the viewing wells turn crystal clear exposing another world, the water depth over the coral reef is between 10' - 25' and the tour guide explains the viewing well numbering system so you know where to look while she explains what the boat is crossing over - she is very knowledgeable and explains everything you see - all the colorful fish and sea-life which is abundant as well as the coral types and objects that rest on the bottom. The tour runs about 2.5 hours and they take no short cuts so you get the total experience. They allow just enough time to get you back to the dock on time and honestly as much as I enjoyed it I was ready for it to be over, the ride back was not as exciting as the ride out and I found myself looking at my watch often - I thought it was a good value and worth the time but once is probably enough for me - the boat was about half filled so it wasn't crowded with about a third being kids and there's no doubt they loved it...

In fact, the guide who described the plants & aquatic life while we were cruising over the reef was amazing! Knowledgeable & quick to identify what she saw & its location. I used my binoculars & only used them a bit to see birds in the mangroves. You can take plastic bottled drinks on board. You might not want to wear a hat. We stood on the front deck & it was perfect. It's with the $36 ticket for a 2.5 hr. excursion. Masks required inside.
