    Boardwalk.

This is one of our favorite stops in Islamorada. The boardwalk is a wonderful walk from one end to the other. There are cabanas along the way with stairways down to the beach. Bathrooms are available in the parking area on the north end of the park. There is another parking area on the south end as well. They are not large parking lots just an FYI. We usually go there 5 or more times while in Islamorada just to take a walk. Or set up our chairs to watch the kite surfers.

Beautiful beach lots of parking on north and south sides, board walk makes it easy to enjoy with children, strollers and/or people with gait issues. I especially love the huge drift woods. It is not a huge beach but it's definitely worth seeing.

Very nice beach park with easy access off the highway. New elevated boardwalk makes accessing the various beaches Very easy. Each beach very small and some quite rocky. Quiet peaceful views. Be aware, Not much parking. Nice and clean blue water. Lot's of coral. Very scenic and attractive. The walk around the beach on the deck was also pretty good. Dog friendly beach; yay

Anne's Beach in Islamorada in the Florida Keys Not sure what to think about Anne's Beach... it's not really a beach. The sand is like clay and the water is brackish and dirty. Before coming here I read a little bit about it and learned that the beach re-opened in 2019 after it was devastated by the Cat 5 Hurricane Irma on September 2017. While the Florida Keys in general do not offer a large variety of sandy beaches we tried to make the best of the opportunity. The water was shallow. My daughter walked a great distance and the water was just up to her knees. She's 5'2". We walked along the raised boardwalk that winds through the mangroves and connected to a second parking lot. -------------------------- Mangroves - salt-tolerant trees or shrubs that grow along tidal shores. They grow in coastal saline or brackish water. -------------------------- Along the boardwalk were pavilions with picnic tables. I thought this was cool, like a private spots to have a nice picnic, the pavilions that faced the water have stairs that lead to the beach. Found a couple of small northern curly-tailed lizard darting in and out the rocks. Parking was small and can be hard to find a spot. We had no problem. Review #2799

Welcome to the Keys the land of coral and clear warm waters but not so much the white sugar sand you may have been hoping for if this is your first time experiencing this piece of paradise. I see a lot of people are disappointed when they try and find a beach here that is filled with vast stretches of sand, cabanas, yoga mats and clear swimming pools surrounded by beach lounge chairs and cocktail service, well the Keys has those too but they aren't supplied by Mother Nature you'll have to reserve those at the resorts scattered across the Keys and they all come with a price, Anne's Beach is an amenity that comes free of charge so don't be pretentious and enjoy what's before you. The view from the shoreline is absolutely beautiful, today the water and air temperatures are 82 degrees the light breeze and peaceful surroundings are just what I'd order if I had to choose. The walk from my Jeep to the water's edge is about 10 feet the waves lap the mangroves and wash the bleached rocks every few seconds while Sirius XM provides the perfect volume of island tunes in the background and I have no complaints. The reason for the lack of soft sandy shoreline in the Florida Keys may seem a mystery, but it's actually the result of the numerous coral reefs offshore. The coral reefs prevent beach formation, the coral reefs also affect the sand quality. It's coarser, even a bit abrasive compared to the sand at other Florida locations. The sea bottom can also feel sharp on the feet, again due to the coral particles so a good pair of water shoes are beneficial, as for the sea grass and muck that's rare but it can exist at times so pick your spot to enter the water the bait fish, nurse, sandbar and lemon sharks seem to like it just fine as do I...

Nice beach spot right off the highway. There are two parking lots spot. It was easy to find a parking spot and beach spot during the week. It had great views. The boardwalk was a nice unique touch.

If you are in Islamorada and looking for great place to wander, fish, swim, or catch a beautiful sunset this is your spot. We came around 5pm and we're able to enjoy this sites on the walkway as well as see the sunset. It's slightly hidden from the road but our GPS helped us catch it. Free parking and absolutely gorgeous views. Definitely recommend!

Just an enchanting spot to enjoy a relaxing day. It's quite popular, probably because it is one of the few sandy beaches in the Keys. It tends to get crowded during the weekends, plan accordingly because parking is limited. Like any other beach, you can come here to picnic, kayak, sunbathe, or whatever activity you prefer. Apparently, the beach has not been the same since Hurricane Irma, but it is still quite captivating. The best part of this beach is the boardwalk that goes through the mangroves. Along the boardwalk, there are pavilions with picnic tables. You can definitely find a nice secluded spot for yourself. The water is clear, however, I am not sure if it is suitable enough for swimming since it is extremely shallow. 4 stars.

Fun free Florida! A beautiful but short stretch of boardwalk running along the ocean side canopy with two small bookend parking lots. The north one has a nice bathroom. What makes this park especially nice are the many pavilions, perfect for picnicking or whatever all else. If you're looking for soft sugary sand, head north! Florida's got something like 660 miles of beautiful beaches and none of them are in the Keys unless you're at fancy resort or one of the few diligently manicured artificial beaches and even then, they're less than desirable. Expect smelly seagrass, craggy limestone, broken bits of coral, and various flotsam and jetsams.

We came to Key Largo to snorkel the reefs and did not know much about the surroundings. I was on the hunt for a beach and had a very hard time finding one close by. Anne's Beach was about 45 minutes from my resort in Key Largo and was not worth the drive. This is the only beach we could find, and there wasn't really much beach. The "sand" felt like cat litter and the water had a murky, sticky mud that became slippery out of the water. The boardwalk was pleasant and led to many very, VERY small beaches in the park. The most redeeming part of the beach was its hermit crabs and baby conches.

Smells, no sand, all mud. Not worth it at all... pictures online look so different! Trying different beach now

Newly developed (almost complete) with two parking lots and a nice long boardwalk with picnic tables and stairs down to the edge of the water. I like how they used modern railings that will last much longer than regular wood. They will even have restrooms on the east side parking lot (still needs to be paved). Unfortunately, we did see any place for us to go swimming.

Tiny beach near south parking lot.

Not really worth it, for a trip of its own. If you stop by en route to somewhere else, fine. But there's no real sandy beach or good spot to lay out. Those are difficult to find in the keys. This is better than nothing. There's a nice walkway. Dedicated parking. Bathrooms. Shaded pavilions. But... bring your beach chair. Loads of seaweed. Teeny tiny. If the parking lots are full, not a good sign. It is FREE, so there's that. But, if you want a day at the beach, you're better off going straight to Bahia Honda and paying the park fee.

No sandy beaches and a lot of seaweed. The water was brackish and they don't allow fishing or alcohol. Disappointed

We started on the bike trail along the busy highway, then turned into the park. At the guard house, the nicest ranger asked us to come in while he waited on a car driving through. He was so pleasant and caring about having water, giving us directions, etc. I am so sorry I didn't get his name. if you are walking or cycling, it is $2.50 per person. We met another ranger who was maintaining the restroom down by the shore and he was friendly, too! Walking down, there are mangroves on each side. Then you see the shore. They have done such a great job carving out little areas for people to sit or eat, etc. We were very impressed with that. There was no litter and the restroom was also very clean. Highly recommend if you need a break going to or coming from Key West. It is also great if you are staying nearby.

We were thrilled to find that Long Key had a site available for the March date that we needed. Our preference would have been for a site for a Class B RV, but we were willing to accept the only site available, a tent-only site. Our reservation for the site was quite expensive ($34.51) for a tent-only site in a public park, without hookups. The fees in Florida state parks really add up. The site itself was "only" $22.50, but there's also a non-refundable $6.70 reservation fee and an assortment of taxes that totaled $5.31. Unfortunately, due to wildfires near Homestead, FL, we needed to reschedule our trip into the Keys, which also involved cancelling our reservation at Long Key. Of our initial outlay of $34.51, our refund was only for $10 and some change. There was a $17-something cancellation fee, and the initial reservation fee was non-refundable. Of the $10+ returned, over $5 of this was the sales taxes.

The island is small and difficult to understand that there was a neighborhood here once upon a time in 1863, over 100 years ago. We were able to make it to the other side of the island. Members of our team decided to go swimming at the top of the surface to see what they seen under the water. One thing it was very hot on this day, so it worked our well.
