When we decided to get married and toured the venue, it stood out. The garden area is like a secret…read moregarden with 2 waterfalls and numerous areas for an outdoor ceremony. The indoor area contrats it with an art deco/Great Gatsby/classic Hollywood Glam vibe that we loved at first site! (Take a look at the ornate ceiling tiles!) We chose to have our ceremony and seating set under the pavillion which is concrete and flat. Our wedding was July 6 and with the weather forecast changing throughout the week, high temperatures, elderly, and some disabled guests, we took everyone's safety into consideration to provide cover (and shade) because we wanted an outside ceremony. The beautiful walking path from the center of the property down to the pavillion that gave the perfect grand entrance. There is also a beautiful pond on the property where we did our "first look" prior to our ceremony. For our outdoor cocktail hour, there were areas for seating with tables, a some bar tables, a patio off the bar/pavillion area and others just sat in the chairs from the ceremony to mingle and snack. (The coconut shrimp is fantastic by the way!) For one of our 2 signature drinks, we had the option of Arnold Palmer iced tea that could be spiked. It gave another option to family members that don't drink alcohol and didn't put them into an awkward situation. When we stood infront of the waterfall after we came back from wedding party pictures and were chatting with some of our guests, it turned into an impromptu receiving line where we unexpectedly got many pictures with our guests!  For the inside, don't have the layout fool you. It is a perfect layout! We had tables surrounding 3 sides of what you would think would be the main dance floor (but wasn't used that way). The inside ceiling is always drapped and has uplighting installed so that is one less thing you have to worry about! We had a sweetheart table for us at the top of the dance floor and had an intimate first dance while "dancing on the clouds" and some additional uplighting from DJ, had our matron of honor and best man give their speeches and did our cake cutting there.  We then moved the dancing after dinner and dessert to the other dance floor by having the father-of-the-bride/bride dance along with other dances on the other dance floor by the bar. It was my parents' 40th wedding anniversary on June 23rd and my cousins 50th anniversary on the date of the actual wedding so we extended and dance to them too. It allowed a seamless transition for others to make their way to the other dance floor. We also had 2 extra tables and the photobooth set up near the bar and dance floor to make guests want to be in that area. Also, there is an outdoor patio right outside the dance floor so guests outside getting some fresh air could still feel like they were part of the action. The initial seating for dinner allowed a more quiet area for guests who wanted to watch but have some space too. Our bar package had frozen drinks and top shelf liquor which helped cooling off in the heat. We ended the night with a private couple dance while our guests were assembled outside by the fountain and our marquis leaders for a sparkler send off and photo and video opportunity outside the building. Carmen's Country Inn & Gardens staff treated us like family. Cathy paid attention to all details and made sure our needs were met. She was thorough with timelines and reminders which I appreciated. With so many things going on planning a wedding, careers changes and the nonprofits we volunteer with, she ensured that we were on time and everything was remembered. I received not only a venue and catering package that included a cake, but also a wedding coordinator/Cathy on top of it! With Carmen's having its own bakery and catering, I was able to address ALL food allergies. Cathy ensures that meals are packed for the Bride and Groom to enjoy after the wedding which we truly appreciated. We made lifelong connections with the family and employees at the venue. We are so grateful we picked this venue!

Most pertinent to this website are the following: * The breakfast on offer is absolutely fantastic. Everyone from my wedding who stayed on the property found it just as (and occasionally more) delicious as the decently expensive catering we had for my wedding day. Everything is fresh and there was so much variety. Even my friends with dietary restrictions (including but not limited to: gluten free, vegetarian, dairy sensitive ...) could all find something they could comfortably--and happily--eat! * The beds are comfortable and clean. The sheets are so soft and have a wonderful pattern. There was a great selection of pillows, all with different hardnesses, thicknesses, and etc. You're sure to find one you like. * I am endlessly happy with the coffee on offer in the rooms, and how nice the air conditioning is at cooling rooms with it quickly and quietly. * The property is so beautiful and so peaceful. If ever you need time away from the world, this is the perfect place to do it. * We loved the hike. As Utahns, we may have skewed opinions on what makes a difficult hike, but--in our opinion--this hike wasn't too difficult. It was so beautiful, and was covered enough in foliage to still be fun to walk, even in the rain. :) * If, for whatever reason, you find yourself able to do yoga with Adrienne on the property, do. It was so fantastic. Honestly my favorite place I've ever done yoga. * The yard games on offer are incredibly fun, even with a smaller group of people playing! In case you end up here looking for reviews on the wedding side of the B&B, all I can say is do it. I'll be posting more in-depth reviews on other sites that are more focused on the wedding side of things, but I'm here to tell you to not even question it, just go for it. If you are looking at practicality or cost? There are many other local, cheaper venues with superior parking and capacity. The Pump House, while not difficult to find, is in the middle of nowhere. The wedding reception I attended here was during the winter and had some unique challenges. The driveway needs attention and a few tons of stone, I would not want to drive on it after a rainstorm. Parking here if it has snowed can be challenging due to lack of space and ice, with the ice also a potential risk when walking to the buildings. Cellphone coverage with Verizon was spotty at best. The reception was split between the Studio Hall and Brick Barn. Studio Hall served as the cocktail and buffet space. During normal operations, this serves at the breakfast part of the B&B. Due to the pandemic, all food had to be served by the catering staff. The bride recommends working with vendors who are familiar with the uniqueness of the venue. The Brick Barn served as the main reception area. Setting up, it didn't look all that impressive, and it would have been nice to have one of the heaters on due to the cold. The owners were very helpful with setting up the tables and chairs, saving the wedding party significant time. Day of the wedding reception it looked very picturesque, the venues selling point. The sidewalks around the venue need improvement as they are not well defined and crumbling. It would also clarify the walking paths between the buildings in the winter. The number of bathrooms for the venue was surprisingly adequate. I visited The Manifold House when moving some boxes around, which serves as the honeymoon suite, and I would describe it's styling as "unique." The wedding reception had a limit of 75 people and that seemed to be the right number when not using the venues outdoor spaces. Overall, if you are looking for an artistic/visually impressive venue, The Pump House is for you. The bride got the exact reception she wanted, which made her happy, and that's what mattered.

We were looking for such a location for our wedding and this place worked out great! The setting is just fantastic and I'll post some more pictures to show you so! It rained on our wedding day...Not too much, but it rained...there was rolling fog coming thru the valley and it made for an amazing backdrop! I was very much impressed with the scenery, even on a cloudy day. I actually golfed the day after the wedding when it was nice and sunny and the place looks fantastic. I'm not an avid golfer, but I do play a few times a year and this was a great course to play on! They have 2 18 hole courses and the prices are pretty good as you might imagine for the location here. Given how nice the day was and how I just didn't want to leave, playing golf for a few hours worked out great! Nice way to wind down after the wedding. They did a great job decorating, we were very pleased with how the venue looked. We were not able to use the outdoor bar due to the wet weather, but it still worked out nicely inside. I do wish the food was better...We went with a buffet and I was non-plussed. It was OK. The chicken and mashed potatoes were actually quite good. But the beef was sliced so thin and cooked so dry it wasn't any beef I'd order unless it was served on a roll with cheese. I also found out the next day that we ate the exact same food\buffet that is offered to the golfers in the players club. Same chicken, same beef, same silver metal serving trays with sterno keeping them warm. This was a bit of a let down for me, I'd think for a wedding they would bring in something special that they didn't serve on a daily basis. We also did a brunch here the day after the wedding. Same silver metal serving trays, now filled with eggs, sausage and the like, as well as some wraps\sandwiches. This was good and a nice way to wrap up the wedding and say goodbye to our guests. It's about a mile from the MainStay Suites where we stayed...very convenient...had a shuttle running back and forth all night and it worked out well! Gorgeous setting for a wedding, I highly recommend it, just make sure you do a tasting and are happy with the food! Don't forget free golf for the wedding party!

I had never played this course. My wife and I played the "Mountain" course. There are two courses…read more I thoroughly enjoyed the layout. Tight with woods on both sides on a few holes. Many holes were fairly wide open. Several waste areas. Greens were cut well so putting was moderately fast. I am currently a 9 handicap and found a good test at this course. Carts ran well. Good fast food afterwards. Bar as well. People extremely friendly. We must go back. Under $30 per round per senior rate including cart. We had a very enjoyable day.

We went to Can U Xcape back in Nov 2019 and played "Centralia Mineshaft Room" and "Conspiracy…read moreBunker" "Centralia Mineshaft Room" Since our tour guide for the "Centralia Mineshaft" had to leave us for an emergency call, we decided to sneak into the mine. According to local legend there's a hidden diamond in there. But this mine has been burning underground since 1962... Will we make it out alive? -HIT THE BULLSEYE As enthusiasts, we really appreciate it when we don't need to hand hold flashlights. It makes searching and solving puzzles much easier. In this case, the miners' hats with a light conveniently fit our needs and the storyline. -The set design made us feel like we just entered deep into a mine. There was real coal in the room! The temperature was cooler in this room than the one we just played. We enjoyed the aspect of the light setting being controlled by us as the story developed. -All the puzzles made sense with the story and as a group of 6, we were able to work on different puzzles simultaneously. -The attention to detail on one particular prop really "wowed" us. From the visual aspect to the sound effect, we really felt "the impact". -A physical puzzle was fun although I was the only one that experienced it. MISSED THE MARK -Some parts of the room were not as spacious so some members would miss out on what puzzles were in there and how it was solved. -One of the puzzles seemed to have not reset correctly. So somehow, we skipped it but was still able to escape. The owner showed it to us after and we were happy to see how it operated as it was definitely a key element to the room. TAKE A SHOT? "Can U Xcape's" bookings are public and we've had good and bad experiences with that. We really enjoyed the group we played with and teamwork was essential. Sharing what you found and calling out what's already been done is the key to succeeding as a group in an escape room. We really enjoyed both rooms that we played at "Can U Xcape". They have very unique concepts for their set designs and puzzles. We suggest playing all three rooms as we'll be returning for their "Tornado Room" for sure! "Conspiracy Bunker" We were being sent by the government to track down the mole who's been leaking highly classified information to the outside world. We arrived at his secret hideout. When we began to search his place, weird things started to uncover... Will we be able to crack the Conspiracy Theory? HIT THE BULLSEYE -First time we encountered a game with 4 different endings pending on your choice. We like the concept of the interactive video involved with the puzzle elements. -Set design was very detailed. Even though there seemed to be a lot of decor in the room, you will not have mistaken them as red herrings. Things that were not needed were bolted down nicely on shelves. -Various puzzles were interactive and fun. This room was not linear at all so a large group can easily "divide and conquer". -Great way of utilizing the space of the room to create different set designs. We love it when owners think outside the box in terms of a room not just being a box, but can also create different "levels" to enhance the player's experience. MISSED THE MARK -If the interactive video prop can also act as the clue giver, it would bring add a more immersive feel. -Although there were choice endings, it would've been nice to have some middle choice elements as well since the ending choices felt more like two options versus four. -There was one interactive element in the room that was a bit confusing as the prop had an association with the puzzle that wasn't used at the end. -One puzzle in the latter game was a bit hard to understand despite following the hint instruction but we were able to use process of elimination and solved it at the end. We felt like we spent the most time here. TAKE A SHOT? This room is ranked as their hardest room right now and usually a minimum of four people is needed for the booking. Since we played it with only the two of us, we totally felt the intensity of the number of puzzles in the room. Most of the time we were solving puzzles simultaneously in order to quickly move forward. We did get out with seconds to spare but did not have time to even think about the bonus puzzle. "Can U Xcape" is known for adding a bonus mission in their rooms and if you solve it, they will take some time off of the clock when you escape. This is great for enthusiasts looking for a challenge. Our recommended size for the room is 4-6 people. Let us know which ending you chose after playing the game!
