My son was 16 months when we started here, he is an active happy kids . As he just started walking and still having his milk by bottle , which sometimes might need help to hold the bottle as he is still small . Teacher told bcz he is walking they will move them to Waddler room - Horrifying treatment room . I appreaciated the effort of the director she is the calm lady and i appreciated her, but the waddler teachers are just so sturburn and strict for 16 months onld. Just bcz he is in waddler you cant treat him as a 3 yr old , he cant bring bottle FOR "HIS BETTERMENT AS HE SHOULD BE TAKING MILK BY SIPPING CUP" as per teacher , i agree but everything takes times and transactions for some kids are quick and some slow . they just treated him as 3 yr old. We left him in the morning and just when we left him they called us back, saying that your baby has puke and you have to take him back. Ok I understand and they called back again and said pls BRING EXTRA CLOTHES FOR HIM , WHICH I HAVE ALREADY GIVEN HIM ON 1 ST DAY which they said they have kept in wrong cabby so could not find it . ? is this even an answer Not only that Teacher said , Oh kids got scarred when they so him with all over puke on his clothes and then i looked at him . They got SCARED , WHERE WERE THE TEACHER , if she was busy where was her helper teacher when he puke and how long he was in dirty clothes which make the kids got scared . They dont treat kids under 2 yr as a kids they treat them as an ADULT . again the director was so supportive, but she cant be there for everyone .SPACE IS SUPER SMALL read more

Where do I begin? I am beyond grateful with this center and every single staff member here!! My first child started going there 15 years ago when many other places rejected us do to her disability. Even then they were so heart warming with my child. They were acceptable to having her therapist attend and give her therapy when needed while there. Years went on and my child stop attending because childcare was no longer needed. Years later I needed an aftercare center and decided to see if they would take her in. With open arms the owner was beyond delighted and couldn't wait to see my daughter return. As my child was now attending aftercare she was not only treated like everyone else but Ms. Vanessa was giving great homework instruction!! My child loved coming here. Years later I had another child and I was in need of daycare again. As any other mother I was scared of leaving my newborn away from home while so little. Once again the owner assured me all will be ok and boy was she wrong! Everything was better then okay!!! This place has been amazing!! Let's begin with the fact that they allowed me to come at any given time to check up on my baby. Love that! While in the baby room, Ms. Myriom, Ms. Ana & Ms. Paola are the most caring individuals I've encountered. My baby loves them. Every child loves them as each day I would see those in the waddler room run over to hug them before going home. Now in the waddler room things just keep getting better. My baby still misses those in the baby room; and like others during pick up time, she runs to visit those in the baby room with open arms. In the waddler room every morning she's right on routine and with no problem kisses me and goes along to play. Ms. Naya is another amazing person. She's on point with all the kids! She always gives me the time needed if I have any questions and makes me feel secure. The activities done in this room are just right. Her speech has sprouted over night along with her every day activities. This place truly makes me feel so assured that my child is in great hands!! My son went to this day care for 14 months. My son was very active for his age so we thought of putting him to this day care as we have heard good first hand reviews of this place. The first year was really awesome with my kid. Her teachers in waddler class were just awesome. They took very good care of my kid. The terrible/horrific/depressing starts when my son was moved to the toddler class. From the very onset, their approach to 3 year old kids entering their class was to be too strict with them. They would say that they are independent and need to do all their stuff by themselves. (So small kids need to do everything by themselves!!!!). I think the teacher thinks all the small kids should just be very disciplined and listen to them all the time. The one who doesn't listen - TIE THEM TO THE CHAIR TO MAKE SURE THEY SIT AT ONE PLACE, GIVE THEM TIME OUTS FOR WHOLE DAY, FORCE FOOD INTO THEM IF THEY DON'T EAT, SHOUT AND YELL AT THEM.. yes all these were done at this center by these idiots... The result of above treatment was that my kid developed withdrawal symptoms, woke up at night scared and refused to sit on the chair and said "No tie, No tie". So if you don't want your kid to go through this pain, please make sure that you DO NOT go to this day care. Else, they would make sure that your kid doesn't come out happy. My kid starting going there staring first with infant section and then moved to waddler section. She's been there for over a year now, and I couldn't agree more with why people actively discouraging placing your kids here: 1) Safety Concern: The entrance to the day care area is virtually open, and any body can walk in - no keycodes to be punched, or identity verified. Ms Rosey, the administrator told us that their identity test is: if the kid come running to you gleefully, then they know you are her parents. It scared us to death knowing this is how they manage child's safety 2) Hiding or not paying attention to accidents: This is a month into my daughter's time at the day care. We picked her up, and as just as were about to place her in the car seat, we noticed she had a deep slit on two of her tiny fingers, with dried blood stuck to the wound. We went right back, and ask the director and the teacher, none of them seemed to know anything, no incident report filed, nothing. Which kid would not cry when they have a deep slit like that? The teachers didnot even know- is that possible? Two days later they told us, the chairs where kids sit, had a sharp broken edge which caused the cut. It baffles me that they would put out furniture and toys for kids without checking if they are safe? 3) Staff are characters: Ill-informed, and simply clueless , basically are known for inappropriate behaviors. The place is a chaos! 4) You would have to see the number of kids they cram in a tiny space - they are kept glued to their chairs, and just so teachers don't need to spend time teaching kids, they would turn on the TV, and have kids lined up in front. They would take out kids for walk around the sidewalk, with active construction areas and dusty patches. But who cares about safely in this daycare anyway? I am surprised how this place is and still in business with the way they choose to operate and treat kids. The one good thing is the class teacher, who is AMAZING! But where kids are tortured the way they are here, with minimal safety ensured, we were compelled to place our kids with a more secure day care in the neighborhood. I am sharing my experience so that others parents can make informed decision, and have the information we did not have, when we chose this place. read more

Finding the right childcare for my 2 sons, 11 months and 2 years old was a little nerve wrecking. Especially recently moving to a new town not knowing the area. I wanted the best care for my boys. I tried two daycare centers in the are area because the reviews were very good. When going to the centers it was not at all what I was expecting. The staff was rude, my son was ignored twice when talking the woman at the front desk. The first impression to me means a lot. I was at the point that I wanted to give up, I thought there isn't any place I can leave my 2 children for 8 hrs a day and be at ease. Harrison Learning Center was the next place to check, When calling I spoke to Mrs. Rosita, she was a pleasure to talk to, she answered all my questions and invited me to come to the daycare when I was available. when I arrived, She gave me a tour and I met other staff and the owner Carmella, I can not stress the kindness of everyone, the staff was extremely kind, and helpful with any questions I had. When I brought my boys there, i couldn't believe how well they both connected with the staff. It has been 6 months and they absolutely love it. Not to mention every morning we walk in and get greeted by Mrs. Rosita and Mrs.Carmella. I am so happy we chose Harrison Learning Center to be apart of our family. read more

I have read the two reviews done prior to mine and I have to disagree. My daughter has been going to this center for two plus years and she loves it. I love it as well. Not only do they take good care of the kids, but they do teach them depending on their age things that the child should learn. My daughter is now four and has been going to HLC since March 2014. The teachers have shown me that they are more than capable to assist my child in any care my child needs. They do have guidelines to certain age groups so they can learn the next step and achieve their goals. They guarantee that your child will learn things and you as a parent must follow with the tools the center gives you. Communication is always open and they keep you informed of everything including if altercations between students happens or if there was an accident during playground and if a child has a small scratch. The facility has cameras in each of the classrooms including the outside playground. Each milestone my daughter has accomplished has been because of the help of HLC. She has started to read words and sentences, knows simple arithmetic (addition and subtractions), counts up to 100 and recognizes all the numbers and she no longer feels shy around kids and adults and has shown that she can address the room by acknowledging and saying good morning, or hello, etc. read more
