From the first weeks, the teachers made a genuine effort to support his adjustment, keeping us , thoroughly informed and ensuring he felt secure and always included. That level of communication and Genuine care made a big difference for our family. Their classroom environment is very structured, organized, and welcoming. It is a setup, where the students, are not overly stimulated and they keep it simple, but, yet, very relaxed and productive! Smart Starts Academy has a curriculum , in which, encourages learning through, play while building important social and academic skills. Over time, we noticed improvements in his confidence, language skills, and enthusiasm for learning, which speaks volumes about the quality of instruction and Attentiveness to each student in their classroom! Emotions that each child may carry ,throughout their day, was Never ignored , but rather, very respected and handled with Extreme care and Genuine Understanding! The staff is beyond, professional, attentive, and Deeply committed to each child's development and learning journey! This preschool sets a HIGH standard for early education, and we would confidently recommend it to any family seeking a program that combines strong academics with Genuine care. Furthermore, the fact that, the students are to wear a uniform, distinctively separates, from other schools, especially because, the students are grasping the idea that, "we are going to school" and it clearly shows the difference between all other schools in the area. I absolutely RECOMMEND Smart Starts Academy and it will Not disappoint! The Smart Start Academy is a Great School for each child's first major steps in Learning and socially engaging in Healthy and Sustainable Growth and Development!

She associates her uniform with "going to school", which is a great visual prompt to get us ready & out the door each day. 2) The administration and staff are so helpful & have been extra accommodating to her special needs. There is a great curriculum including an introduction to Spanish language skills & preschool preparation (tracing letters, using glue sticks & scissors, etc) . It's truly like a school rather than just a daycare facility. She loves her teachers Mrs Ruth & Miss Justine :) 3) The tech used by the facility is great. The app lets us check her in & out for the day with ease. We get information and photo updates throughout the day. 3) Food is healthy and our picky eater never goes hungry.

The staff have been exceptional caregivers, very communicative, and are loved by my son. Some of the things we like most about GOMS: - Most of the staff speak Spanish and they do some lessons in Spanish. This was a big plus for us as a Spanish speaking household. - The GOMS community is a warm and welcoming one. The staff is incredibly consistent (low turnover from what I have observed) and therefore, it really gives a community feel. They never hesitate to give me updates, particularly when my son first transitioned to daycare and are always so supportive during transitions and milestones. - The hours are flexible and helpful for parents commuting to work. They are also open more often than other daycares because they don't have any week long closures, at least for the past 2 years. My son has learned so much from his teachers and the other kids. We absolutely recommend GOMS to anyone looking for a daycare in the Heights.

He literally laughs out loud when he gets to school. He loves it there so much. The teachers and directors are amazing care givers and you can feel how much they care about the kids. I feel like I'm leaving my baby with family. They have been there with us every step of the way through all our learning as new parents. The other parents and kids are also great and it's a really nice community. They recently added a shed to leave strollers which is a huge convenience.

Teachers here are very kind and supportive. My son enjoyed going here and was a fan of most of his teachers like Ms Su (His all time favorite) , Ms Nelly, Ms Alexa, Ms Arleny. This branch has their own kitchen, which was a plus for us. They have cameras which me and my wife would access through an app. This location is very close to the station for any parent to drop their kids while heading to work. Office staff tried their best to accommodate any of our request and were always helpful. I would definitely recommend this daycare. Thank you Kiddie Academy for everything you did to make sure my son was safe and happy.

Originally, our daughter was going to attend the Secaucus public school at the start of the year and it was still unclear if they were going to be remote, in person or hybrid due to the pandemic. Kiddie Academy offered a safe, structured, in person program with limited enrollment of 10 children. This worked best for what we were looking for during this difficult time for everyone and her development. The limited enrolment with a primary and a secondary teacher allowed for a lot of 1:1 time with the students. Our daughter was not a number of many but one of few and she thrived. The school, since it is private, was able to advance their curriculum when all of the students demonstrated an understanding of the subject matter. Due to their curriculum, teaching style and 1:1 time she is able to read independently, add, subtract, count by 1's, 2's and 5's, solve word problems etc. It is amazing how much our daughter has grown since September building upon what she learned in their Pre-K program. The experience we have had over the past 5+ years with the teachers and administration have been pleasant and I never doubted that our daughter was receiving anything but the best care and education. A special thank you to Ms. Patty, Ms. Diana, Ms. Liz and Ms. Melanie for their support and dedication.

The school has been unexpectedly closed MULTIPLE days during this 2023-24 school year due to facilities issues. The students and parents are notified with less than 24hrs that the school is simply closed, not once but multiple times. There's is no make-up of the curriculum missed, no reimbursement of after-school paid classes. While our daughter had lovely teachers and received a beautiful care from the school's Nurse Ms Cathy, the administration is not a match. Despite the challenges listed above and lack of resolution/ commitment, the school submitted a 11% increase of the tuition for the next year.

If you look at the inspection report of this school on the nj.gov website, there are several basic safety concerns cited there which worried me 2. The staff and teachers we met could not clearly articulate the school's philosophy in terms of teaching- it is neither progressive, nor traditional, nor part of a system like the Montessori. 3. The classes lack completely in diversity in an unexpected manner. About 90% of the students in the class that we visited were of South Asian or Asian decent. This is not a racist comment, because my child is half Indian and I would have the same concern if the class was 90% white or 90% Hispanic. In a country like ours, every child needs to be exposed to as much diversity as possible at an early level.
