2/28/26: Very disappointed with this Market Street location. Came in for a deli sub and was told they weren't making sandwiches, despite it being well within operating hours. They refused. To top it off, the checkout process was incredibly slow. Management needs to address the staffing and service speed here. The floral department was unreliable, insensitive and unaccommodating. We attempted to place an order for a family memorial event. There was rocky communication filled with disrespect and they were not able to fulfill the order, after all. The floral department manager could have been a lot nicer to us, she could have communicated what they have in stock and are able to obtain in a timely manner, and she could have been nicer throughout the whole process. I had such a great visit at Harris Teeter today. Store was SO well maintained. Very clean and efficiently organized. Staff very conscientious and focused on their jobs and duties. Staff was friendly and engaging. Product selection choices were well above what I get from competitors. Checkout cashier was on point. read more

I used to LOVE shopping at Harris Teeter when we lived in NC. This store was nice, just like I remembered the HT to be! Normal prices are fairly high (but grocery prices are high everywhere. Sigh). But some items seem extra high. A particular dog food was 6/$13 compared to the same item at Food Lion for 6/$7.14. But then some items were on sale... great deals for instance Buy One Get One Free items were a great deal. Staff were friendly. Store was stocked. read more

Heads up! Starbucks coming Sept 20th with Cold Brew!! We shop here regularly & have been very pleased with this HT. Staff are always super & Manager I spoke to was very proud of his store & thanked us for being customers. They are upgrading this store a lot! They already have gas, which we love the gas station here....it's clean! New Starbucks coming (only cold brew in the area?) and also a new food bar. Clean store, great produce & meat/seafood dept also!!! read more

This is a huge grocery store!! They have virtually everything you can imagine (even quail and duck eggs, various vegan meats, sorbet and ice cream of every variety, lots of produce). We enjoyed all the items we purchased here during our vacation, with just a couple small issues. The first pack of berries we bought started spoiling the next morning (no big deal, happens everywhere). Also, I would appreciate more organic options that aren't packed in bags or large containers. I'm on a vacation, so I may not use up 2-3 pounds of a fruit or vegetable. Not a major problem, though, I just went for the nonorganic options for a couple fruits. The self checkout area is very organized and clean. And when we had a slight problem weighing our produce, and employee came over right away to help. We'll definitely be back! I really think if u want a good sub you should check out Harris teetwr.the bread us always good, and they use boars head cold cuts and cheeses. Some of the toppings are limited, but the price for what u get is really good, and it is a pretty healthy sub if u make the right choices. I'll take boars head turkey over most other brands anyday. They'll also make a lot of customizations without giving u any sh!t about it. The butcher at this particular location is also awesome!! Super friendly, very knowledgeable, and knows what he is doing. Very rare to find good butchers in the south at a big supermarket. read more

This place was a big grocery store. A huge beer area where you can make your own six packs for $10.99 so made two of those. Tons of food here as well. Great staff as well read more

I love Harris Teeter but in this odd year of 2020, the company definitely did not move in the right direction to at least try to stop the spread of COVID for their customers and employees. Cashiers are standing less than 12 inches away from customers checking out in the next lane. Lots of other areas they could improve to prevent the COVID too many to list! read more

I had an amazing experience in the bakery department the other day. At home I had baked a terribly ugly cake for my daughter's first birthday photoshoot and I was desperate for some intervention. Upon arriving, the staff was helpful and pointed me toward the smash cakes they do for FREE (!!!!!!) for your child's first birthday. I gave them an idea of what I had first attempted (a sand castle theme with graham cracker sand and little sea shells and starfish) and the employee went back to make it right there on the spot! I waited a short 10 minutes and she came out with a mini masterpiece. Exactly what I had in mind! I hugged her on the spot haha. Thanks for making my day!! read more

Price gouging and causing bottlenecks by closing early during a pandemic and just making it riskier for everyone, employees included, by forcing everyone to come during peak hours rather than maintain their regular schedule. To top it all off, all of the HTs in the area have raised their prices by one to two dollars per item on things like beverages, including bottled water, during this crisis. Just scummy. read more

This Harris Teeter store has been slipping in several areas of the store. Hot Food display of food to go ( baked chicken fried chicken, barbarcue ribs) is dried out and sitting out to long, with no fresh selections for Dinner hours (food checked at this time was marked at 11:24 a.m. At 4:45 p.m.), not enough fresh food and deli staff rude when questioned about, is there more chicken coming out? This has been going on for at least 3 consecutive weeks. Where is management on quality checks? I have complained to the Service Desk and the only response is , do you want your money back? What I want and expect is better product at the prices that are set, not just give back the customers money, respond to the problem. Seafood Dept. is priced to high and when product is on sale, there is no product, response is ask for a rain check. I have been in management for other retail stores, in other areas of the country. This is my go to supermarket. Yes, pricing can be on the high side but they also offer double coupons which come in handy. Produce is excellent. Wine selection is pretty darn good. Meats and fish look good too. I'm addicted to their fresh made whole grain breads. Staff has always been more then helpful to me. I hate going to the supermarket but HT makes it less painful. Oh, I did buy a rotisserie chicken that was too salty to eat. read more

Harris teeter has friendly staff and its very clean. But their milk prices are terrible! We end up spending around $8 a gallon!

I just left there where Who I believe Sam M. Who was running self checkout was very rude and found it inconvenient to do her job. First she wasn't standing near or realized that we were waiting she was talking to someone twisting get hair. Then she continued to give me a blank stare as I waited for her to assist me. This store prices are too high. Please bring pricing down. Also, check deli drink, food and cheese. We found bad items of shelf (out of date) and by mistake brought some bad drinks. This area needs to be monitored and properly checked and cooled to maintain food correctly. read more
