The Big E is a must stop for Fall…read more I didn't get a picture of everything but I have been going to the big E for years and love the diversity of food, the drinks, experiences, and crafts that are offered here. I always make a point to try the maple donuts (not pictured) but there are so many options that it's almost overwhelming! If you're going for the first time then be sure to go through the state houses for local treats and savory foods. No matter what you're craving, you can probably find it here.

The Big E: A Full Day of Food, Fun & A LOT of Walking!…read more I went to The Big E on Saturday, and if there's one thing I can say right away: come prepared for traffic, crowds, walking, and spending money but there is SO much to see and do! Parking & Getting In The traffic getting to The Big E was INSANE. Once we got into the area, it took us about an hour just waiting to be able to park. We ended up parking at Gate 9 in the public parking area, but parking isn't free. There were also plenty of private lots around The Big E charging different prices, so definitely factor parking into your budget. The good news is that once we actually got parked, entry into the fair was super easy. We didn't have to wait at all. We bought our tickets online ahead of time and got a good deal, so I definitely recommend checking online before going. ‍‍‍ Something for Everyone Once inside, there was SO much happening. There were tons of things to see, food everywhere, desserts, vendors, entertainment, rides, and a parade where they were throwing beads. Even though it was packed because it was the weekend, we were still able to walk around without constantly being shoulder-to-shoulder with people. There are definitely things for all ages, whether you're going with kids, friends, or just looking for a fun day out. Unfortunately, I didn't get the opportunity to visit the different state buildings. A lot of the attractions and entertainment had lines ranging anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, so we had to choose where we wanted to spend our time. Midway & Rides The midway was definitely one of the busiest areas. The lines for the rides and entertainment were extremely long. We even purchased the additional Fast Pass, but even those lines were still pretty long. While we were waiting in one of the lines, a fight broke out. The sheriffs responded promptly and cleared the area, but the ride was temporarily closed because of the incident, so we ended up having to wait even longer. Thankfully, that was an isolated incident and didn't ruin the overall experience for us. Now Let's Talk About the FOOD! There were SO many food options that it was honestly impossible to try everything in one day. We had corn dogs, and my kids had chicken tenders with fries topped with bacon and cheddar. I also tried a Wagyu surf-and-turf burger with lobster, which was definitely one of the more interesting things I ate that day. I also tried an alligator burger, because when else are you going to get the opportunity to try something like that at a fair? And on our way home, I had some mini donuts, which were absolutely delicious. Those were such a good sweet treat to end the day. Season Cups We also purchased the seasonal cups for $11, and you can refill them for $5 at participating locations. If you're planning to drink throughout the day, this is something worth considering. Be Prepared to Spend This is probably one of the biggest things I would tell anyone planning to go: bring enough money! For a family of three, I spent nearly $400 at The Big E, and that DOES NOT include the cost of our admission tickets. Between food, drinks, rides, parking, and everything else, it adds up very quickly. Clean & Plenty of Places to Rest One thing I really appreciated was that the bathrooms were clean. There were also plenty of sitting areas throughout the grounds. Every time we needed to stop and sit down, we were able to find somewhere available. And trust me, you're going to want those sitting areas because there is A LOT of walking! Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to be on your feet for most of the day. Overall Despite the traffic, the long waits, and how much we spent, we had a great time at The Big E. There is so much to see, eat, experience, and explore that I can understand why people come back year after year. I do think you need to plan your day strategically because you probably won't be able to do everything, especially on a busy weekend. If you want to see the state buildings, ride several rides, eat, shop, and catch entertainment, be prepared to spend a LOT of time there. For me, The Big E was definitely an experience. Would I go back? Absolutely. But next time, I'll be planning ahead, wearing my most comfortable shoes, budgeting more money, and mentally preparing myself for that traffic! Come for the experience. Stay for the food. And definitely bring your walking shoes!

Came here to see Karol G in concert. It was awesome! Concert started at 7 and we got there around…read more6. The traffic coming in wasn't too bad. I parked in general admission and the walk was only 7ish minutes and mostly flat! They do have a clear bag policy up to a certain size or you can bring a small wristlet in/cross body...but it's very strict. They have a special technology that takes a picture of your purse and measures it. Mine was like an inch too big so my boyfriend had to walk back to the car :( They do have clear plastic bags so I asked for one for my belongings and he brought my bag back. Once I got into the venue, the merch was right in the entrance and lines weren't long. Plus, there's so many food options and a lot of it is grab and go so you "pay" before you enter and they take a picture of what you get on the security cameras and charge you after..pretty efficient! My chicken tenders were good with the fries, yum! My seats were great in section 240, a clear view of the stage. Wasn't too cold at night but I brought a sweater. We left a few songs early so we could avoid the traffic. When I came to Taylor Swift I waited 3 hours to leave.... Besides the strict bag policy that took us a little bit we had a fantastic time and seeing a concert here is quite fun!

Gillette Stadium might genuinely be the worst place in New England to see a concert…read more The whole experience feels like someone asked, "How can we make going to a concert unnecessarily difficult?" and Gillette said, "Hold my beer." First, parking. It's expensive, chaotic, and there is basically no convenient public transportation option. So you pay a small fortune to park your car in a field somewhere in/near the general vicinity of the stadium and then begin the pilgrimage. Then you reach security, where apparently a purse can become a matter of national security. The bag policy allows a 6.5" x 4.5" bag. Which is adorable. That's roughly enough room for your phone, keys and one tampon if you really believe in yourself. And if your bag is slightly over the dimensions? Congratulations! You now get to have a security guard inspect your purse while you contemplate whether it's worth walking the entire way back to your car. The best part is the inconsistency. A woman gets stopped over a crossbody bag that is a couple centimeters too large, while a guy walks through with a sweatshirt pocket the size of a small duffel bag. That pocket could contain a vape, six nips, a sandwich and possibly a second, smaller man. But sure. Let's investigate the woman with lip gloss and a tampon. I understand security. I actually appreciate security. Have reasonable policies. Enforce them consistently. Fine. But combine the ridiculous bag restrictions with expensive parking, no convenient transportation, insane ticket prices and the general feeling that you're being processed rather than welcomed, and you have to wonder why anyone considers this a good concert venue. There are so many better venues that are easier to get to, surrounded by restaurants and bars that don't feel like a chain, and don't make attending a concert feel like you're attempting to cross an international border with a suspiciously large purse. Gillette, I promise the woman carrying a Lululemon crossbody with a tampon in it is not your biggest security threat. Let the women bring their damn purses.

Well maintained trees, bushes and plants. Love to see how well they take care of the landscape here, also lots of garbage cans around. The park even has a few benches to sit and relax on. The wooden covered bridge was very cool to see and walk through. No cars allowed.... so this allows you to walk right inside the bridge ( love that there is a picnic bench inside too)The bridge goes over a small stream loaded with rocks and wildlife. On one side of the entrance around the corner from the public pool there are play areas, basketball hoops, a gazebo and benches. Residents and non-residents alike may use the pool and small children's water park for a small fee. There are public bathrooms, but they are what you would expect from an old, public park bathroom...built with concrete blocks and minimally cleaned (ie: kinda gross), but at least they're available. On the other side of the entrance is a baseball field. In the winter, the hill is a popular spot for sledding and skiing. There is a T-bar and the capacity to make snow. Many local children get their start skiing here because it is incredibly inexpensive to buy a day pass and free for children under 5. If you venture further up the hill you'll find other fields, an ice skating rink, a small outdoor stage, and a picnic pavilion. The views from the top of the hill are beautiful, and from the top there are hiking trails through the woods around the park.
