Why not give it a try right, initial impression upon entering, cramped waiting area not giving me great vibes. Aside from the waiting area most everything after went smoothly. Was called back quickly w appointment; there are two optometrists both doing exams so that speeds up patient wait times. My exam was thorough and all questions were answered. The office space for the business isn't really big but the frames section is set up so it feels large. There are name brands Ray Ban, Costa, Boss, etc. Sun glasses selection also. I appreciate the time that was taken with me during my eye exam and for allowing me to ask questions. My husband and I visited the Harrington Vision Center for the first time today for our annual check ups. We were very, very dissatisfied with our last optometrist so we thought we would give them a try. I cannot say enough about the care we received by the doctor and staff. The doctor took her time with each of us and was very thorough. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The entire experience was top notch. I hate writing bad reviews for places.. but I am really upset with Harrington Vision because not only was I lied to about what the price would be for my contact exam, they made it seem like I was a liar. I don't know if this is a common occurrence and they do this to all new clients, but I needed to write this review in case you were wondering if you should come here.. this was my experience: Yesterday, I called Harrington Vision because my contact prescription had just run out and I needed to order more contacts. I decided to try this place out because when I called, I told them exactly who my insurance provider was and that I needed it for a "contact lens prescription". She specifically asked me what I needed to be seen for.. I specially told her "contacts". She asked if I needed to be seen for glasses, I said no. (If you guys want to go back into yesterday's conversation if you record phone calls, go ahead.. you will see I'm not the liar here, Harrington.) I asked how much it would cost and she said, "oh, it shouldn't cost anything." And before I hung up, I double checked with her.. "so it won't cost anything?" And she said "nope!" And I made my appointment for today. When I checked out, Harrington charged me $61. I know that's not a bad price, but it's still money being charged that I was never informed about prior to my visit. I was lied to. When I checked out, I brought this up to the lady who had my folder and she went up and asked the lady who makes the appointments up front (pretty sure i talked to Ashley). When she walked back out to me, she told me that i was told i was going to be charged $61. I can very well ensure you i was not. I never would have had my eye exam done here if that were the case. I specifically said contact eye exam.. not regular eye exam... and she basically treated me like I was stupid even though I was the one actually telling her the truth. Again, I hate writing bad reviews and I don't ever complain unless a company really does me wrong... this company really did me wrong. Not only was I lied to, I was treated like I was the liar! I went to Harrington Vision this morning to get an eye exam. I had an 0830 appointment and got there at 0745. About 0810, a young lady opened the door and immediately started the paperwork, then the preliminary eye tests. I was amazed at the professional but caring attention that I got from all of them and the doctor was excellent. This was my second visit over the years and it was the same "make you glad you went" feeling. I highly recommend. read more

I made a recent visit to Harrington for some glasses, and being a Quality Manager I always notice the good/bad. In this case I have to say that customer Quality service is suffering. I have not yet resolved the issue that I am having with Harrington so I can only share what my experience to date has been. I found the associates to be in need of training, both in the products and services that they offer and in general customer service interactions. I thought that maybe it was just me, so I looked up the reviews, and as a statistician I had to laugh. one star star reviews with in depth explanations and then followed by silly 5 star reviews (suspicious). The 5 star ones look a little iffy....especially the one that states "several locations" b/c actually there are only 2, and they are not even associated with eachother......which is easily discovered by visiting either of them. Based on the reviews one would have to conclude that there must be 2 completely different groups of employees, the competent superb interpersonal and detail oriented group and then the....well.....the ones that probably got hired during covid to replace the dream team when they left b/c I had encounters with 3 different associates and found them all in need of basic training. All said the last 2 conversations I had with the team was that I would like to talk to the manager.....have them call me. The associate said the assistant manager was available and I declined and responded that I wanted the manager to call me. Guess who called me back....and made excuses and defended the other associates actions? I doubt that I'll get any satisfaction so at this point I can not recommend this establishment and propose that as a potential customer you look elsewhere. If you're in the market for new eyewear or contacts, Harrington is the place to go! The staff is so friendly and patient, and they take the time to do the little things that you don't get elsewhere. They say, "Hello!" and they greet you with smiles. They even ask you how your day is going, and they confirm they've resolved any concerns or questions you may have before you leave the office. The optometrist is also superb. If you're like me, you're not up to par with your medical jargon. That's not a problem at Harrington, though. When I was experiencing issues with an eye allergy, the doctor thoroughly explained what I was experiencing in an easy-to-understand manner. I felt so valued as a customer, and I felt so aware of my condition. Do yourself a favor and visit the dream team at Harrington. I was there on Jan.3,2020 to get my eyes examine for contacts and my wife for glasses. My exam for contacts took only five minutes. The Dr. never checked my eyes without the contacts. He showed me four lines and asked me if I could read it. That was the end of the exam. HE NEVER ASKED ME TO TAKE OUT MY CONTACTS!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. I have been wearing contacts for 30 years. read more

I have been acquainted with Harrington Vision Center for many years and I have always had a pleasant experience. The staff at the front desk are always friendly and acknowledge you as soon as you walk in. Dr Hobbs was great to receive an exam from and never had any issues with my prescription. Picking out frames did not stress me at all since the ladies were all very helpful and honest about what looked good and what didn't. Also, they are great at helping you if you need a repair made to your glasses like if a screw popped out or anything! In a nutshell *STAY AWAY FROM HARRINGTON *rude managers/assistant managers *lousy glasses selection *stay away if you are not prepared to pay in cash for your glasses + great ophthalmologist It pains me to write this about a black-owned business because I support black-owned whenever possible, but I can't let the way I was treated slide on that basis alone! Okay, so my family has been going to Harrington Vision for quite some time now. We have had substantial problems and complaints about them however, due to the convenience and the fact that the ophthalmologist is very pleasant and knowledgeable we continue to go. But Lord, my experience with them this past weekend has completely turned me off to them forever. Do not go to Harrington if you do not want to deal with rude staff who seriously only want your money. Try to mention any discount or insurance matters and you will be quoted a higher price for frames and be dealt with very differently. So here's my story. I go to Harrington because I am getting headaches and needed prescription sunglasses. Everything is fine and dandy and they tell me they are not sure if my insurance covers prescription sunglasses but they will call me back when the office manager returns and tell me if my insurance does. Two days later, I get a call from a woman named Kathy, she tells me that everything is good to go and that my insurance does cover it. She rushes me to provide her with my credit card information over the phone so that they can process the order. I tell her I will call her back with the information. I call her back a few minutes later and everything is fine UNTIL I mention that as part of my insurance I also get a 20% discount on anything over $200. Well honey, as soon as I say that their entire story changes. She tells me they will have to call me back. They call me back 10 minutes later and tell me that miraculously they no longer cover prescription sunglasses. Mind you, half of their store is sunglasses. (And their eyeglass selection is weak at best and unless you are a child I doubt you'll find anything good there). Anyways, I try to explain to the assistant office manager that a woman named Kathy had just informed me that the sunglasses were covered and that they were ready to tint the lenses as soon as I provided my credit card info. Let me tell you. I have NEVER EVER dealt with a ruder individual in customer service all my life. She (Michelle Manning) raised her voice several times telling me that there was nothing she could do and literally talked over me for half of the conversation. she kept saying that she had other calls and couldn't take the time to hear me out and continued to talk over me before hanging up. And then, when I call back later to get the assistant managers name, the manager gets on the phone and REFUSES to tell me the woman's name. She basically screamed at me and told me that she would NOT give me the assistant managers name. Later that day, I spoke with my insurance company and they do cover sunglasses. So in essence they blatantly lied to me! Long story short STAY AWAY FROM HARRINGTON. oh and P.S. the manager told me that if I wrote any negative review of them online they would have their "attorney deal with me" so be careful if you ever want to review this place if it isn't positive P.P.S.
