We visited this cafe yesterday (Friday lunchtime). It was fairly busy. Staff were friendly. They do a breakfast menu until 12 noon, and quite a varied lunch menu. We went for a couple of jacket potatoes with cheese and baked beans. They were served with coleslaw and a fresh salad garnish. Food was good, and portions was generous. Prices reasonable (just over £12 for two, including a pot of tea).
Two criticisms: one was the hygiene in the cafe. All round the edges of the floor looked as though they hadn't been cleaned for a while, there were cobwebs running down the windows and even a bit of mould growing! Our lunch didn't come back to visit us later that day so I guess the food was okay. Shame the cleanliness of the place let it down though.
Other criticism: it was really cold in there! Front door was wide open, and when we asked if it could be closed we were told that the cook was really hot so it had to be kept open. This meant that all the customers had to eat with their coats and jackets on. Hardly comfortable for mid-January!
Disabled access not too bad: one half step and you're in (and in fact there was a lady in a specially adapted buggy sitting at one of the tables).
Would we go back? You're not spoiled for choice for eateries in Seaford. If they cleaned up their cafe then yes we would, but only in warmer weather ... read more
