It felt genuine. It was so warm, like a hug with words. As did the space/waiting room which is so lovely and so inviting. I'm currently working with Christopher May, and he was a joy to talk with. He was so personable; I appreciated how distractingly chatty (in the most engaging and friendly way possible) he was, because it made the experience seem much less painful and much more quick than it probably was. He's got really good energy, and I felt comfortable from the first moment we talked on the phone for my free consultation (and I had endless questions then). It's infrequent these days that your first experience with a business is an immediate success, but I knew from the moment I walked into 207 Laser that I made the right decision. But... She would say one thing and then wait. I would respond and she would say one more thing and just look at me. She lacked compassion, she lacked a soothing bedside manner and it almost felt offensive, the way she treated me. Was she direct? Yes. Did she answer my questions? Yes. But she was too brief. She lacked a friendly and relaxed attitude. She did not make me feel welcome. This is not a great way to build your practice. I got the feeling that she hated her job.

More details below, but my experience here was the most professional medical experience I have had for many years - with one minor exception. The first place I went was where my cataracts were diagnosed, but when I called them to confirm my follow up appointment the next year it was not possible to just speak to a person. The second place left me alone in a room for a long time, the doctor asked me no questions and did not seem to have read my history. After a screaming match erupted outside the door, I knew I would not be back. The third try was not lucky either. After more than six months and my pre-op appointment, just days before the surgery I was contacted by an uninformed underling telling me that it was being canceled without any explanation offered. After I demanded that they contact my cardiologist and PCP they tried to reschedule it for deep in the winter. I no longer had enough trust in their professionalism to proceed. While the medical team at Eyecare Medical Group was absolutely A+ at all times and the scheduling office could probably use a better check list. It resulted in a temporary glitch that was worked out quickly and with extreme good graces. In the end I would do it all over again if I had to, but my vision came out practically perfect, so sadly I won't be back. They have created an exceptional template for handling out-patient procedures that the rest of the medical industry would do well to follow. P.S. As I was going in for my first appointment a gentleman and his wife were walking out. Unprompted he told me it was a great place, which proved to be accurate!
