This used to be my go to location for tire rotations and for new tire purchases. This last visit…read moreJuly 30th 2025 I booked a tire rotation a few days ahead of time online. They looked over the tires first and told me I needed a new lug nut for my front passenger tire. I asked how much for a new lug nut would be and they said $90. I politely declined after checking the prices online and said there's nothing wrong with the lug nut but there's something wrong with trying to price gouge. They go for less than $20 at auto part stores. They then refused to rotate the tires because it puts their staff "in danger". I left and went over to the Discount Tire on 14 Mile in Troy. They had me in and out in 25 minutes and when I asked about the lug nut in question they said there's nothing wrong with any of them. Sadly I cannot recommend Discount Tire in Centerline because of their dishonest business practices.

I've purchased tires from discount tire in the past, just not this location…read more Yesterday after working all day stopped in here to fill up the trailer tire that was low, and a guy came out and said he won't fill it up. I simply asked why not? He claimed a truck was going to show up "any minute" to pick up used tires. Then he said I can ask the guys up front. I said don't worry about it and as I pulled out of the driveway, he screams have a nice day... I went and talked to someone inside the office and he looked at me weird when I said the guy said he wouldn't fill up the tire. And said to bring it back around. I do that, another guy walks up, proceeds to excuse the other employee and comes up with some BS any their compressor can't fill up my tire and that I need an appointment for them to look at the tire. I said I was just trying to fill it up since it's a tire shop. NEVER TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE

Hood's is good. They provide drive-thru tire repair service for any size tire, at a reasonable…read moreprice. And they don't whine. Car tire that's still on the car, car tire that's off the car, boat trailer tire, wheelbarrow tire-- doesn't matter, they fix them all. There's none of the whining I've encountered at the Name Brand tire places-- "your boat trailer tire doesn't fit on our machine." At Hood's they fix whatever tires need to be fixed. The large concrete area in front of the building is often marked off in lanes with cones. You pull up and wait your turn, which for me has always been less than 10 minutes. You stay in your car, lower your window and tell the attendant which tire needs attention. They remove the tire from your car or take it out of your trunk, take it in to their garage, fix it and bring it back to you. The usual charge is $10, and I've always paid cash. That's all there is to it. I once bought a used tire from them, to get me by until my original tire could be replaced under warranty. I hate driving on donuts! I think I paid $20 for that, including putting it on my car. It worked out just fine. We've sometimes bought tires online, and had Hood's mount and balance them for us. That service was also $10/wheel. I've never bought new tires or rims from Hood's, so I don't know about their selection or prices for those items. Hood's has signs prominently displayed on their building and around their property: "We don't buy stolen tires or wheels." I much appreciate their position on that issue! And yes, Hood's is most certainly located in The Hood.
