After a few days the heat stopped working and I called there to let them know that I did need some warranty work done. I talked to the owner Scott, who asked me to go to my local mechanic to get a quote, and said that he thinks it is the thermostat as they have replaced a few of them already on their cars. I went to my local mechanic and they said that without running some diagnostics on it, they might not be able to give a accurate quote as it could be the thermostat, or the heater core or something else. I called Scott back to tell him this, and he just laughed and said that it is just a way for shops to make money. Scott told me that he does NOT pay shop supplies, he really thinks that it is only the thermostat and he wants only Mopar parts to be put in it. Now at this point, Scott should have asked me for the name and number to the shop that I talked to, as it is good customer service to NOT put your customer in the middle of something like this. Scott had me call him back to let him know that he will not cover shop supplies, he only wants Mopar parts and that he wanted to know how much they charge per hour. I called Scott back with the information that I received from the shop. I let him know how much they charge per hour and he just sighed and said that it is way too much and he can get cheaper where he is at, and then he said that he did not make very much money on my car. To me this is another cardinal rule that you do not do when working with customers is complain about how much money you are NOT making off of them. After I talked to Scott for a little bit, he told me how much he was only going to pay to have my mechanic work on it. I called my mechanic back and let him know everything I got from scott (and my mechanic did not complain once! He said that he will do his best to meet his demands). The next day my mechanic faxed me a estimate which was $60.00 more than scott said he would pay. I faxed that to Scott, and I got a phone call a few hours later stating that I HAD to bring my car back to him to have the warranty work done. Now I had to work with my wifes parents (who also live in Glencoe, MN) and they were going to be in the area that day, and gave us their car and took mine back to Al's. 2 days later they called back and let me know that my car is done and the heat now works, and said that it was the thermostat. Everything was going good, and I was glad to not have to deal with Scott at Al's ever again, until 3 weeks later when the heat in my car went out again. We brought it to my mechanic who looked at it and after running some diagnostics said that the thermostat was bad on it. We called back to Scott to let him know that the thermostat was bad again, and once again he said that we HAD to bring it back out there (which is again, 1 1/2 hours away from my house)We made arrangements to bring the car back out there again, and Scott said that he would give us a loaner until my car was fixed (hopefully the right way this time). When we got there, his exacts words were " I hate come backs" meaning he hates cars that come back for warranty work. He seemed really rushed and did not seem like he wanted to deal with us at all, and when we told him that we could be back to pick up the car on Friday or Saturday (we both have full time jobs) he said that he cannot have the loaner gone for that long as he needs it back on the lot so he can sell it. So he expects us who work full time jobs in the city, to leave after work (6pm) and drive almost 2 hours to go pick up my car because this is a inconvienence to him? We just left the loaner car at my wifes parents house and borrowed their car. I would NOT recommend that anyone buys a car from Al's auto sales in Glencoe MN!

Ben and the staff at Jay Malone went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. They picked him up from the airport and drove him the 1.5 hours to the dealership. No games, no bait and switch, the truck was priced more than fairly. The first thing this very honest dealer did was put a 9 page CARFAX report on the table for my husband to read about the truck's history. We do our research anyway beforehand and the truck has an immaculate history. The dealership had the truck detailed to a level where it appeared and smelled brand new. It was a breeze to complete the paperwork (less than an hour). We paid cash in full. The entire staff congratulated him and asked if they could do anything else to make his day easier. My husband was on the road in our new truck, driving back the 1600 miles to Maine! The one star reviews here are confusing as heck - can't imagine this dealership being even remotely bad and we've dealt with some bad ones in the past. Seems like most of the one star reviews here are from people with extremely bad credit and aren't upfront about it.

The dealership in Michigan could not handle the recall so he was forced to bring his truck back home for repair. The problem was that someone in Michigan entered the wrong codes and now the VIN number indicates that all the recall work was done when it hadn't even been started! Alex at Waconia worked tirelessly for 2 weeks to help us get this straightened out. It was no small feat as we got no help from the dealership in Michigan. We had to call in Area managers to get this all worked out. Along the way of this process, Alex continually kept me updated. Despite many back and forth phone calls, he was always polite and made me feel that my business was important. I spoke to a couple ither folks at Waconia who were equally as helpful and polite. Alex went way above and beyond to be sure my son's truck was fixed and safe. I am so thankful for his diligence and kindness. His service and the service at Waconia gets an A+. Next time I am in the market for a new car or service work , I'm heading to Waconia !
