Great day at the Dino Park! Also called Nikkei Park…read more There is a little kid 2-5 year old playground and a 5+ year old set with taller slides. Swings for little ones and bigger kids in the back of the park, 4 total; 2 for toddlers and 2 for bigger kids. A cool sandpit that has dinosaur fossils to find. Clean park that is popular with many kids playing. There are several dinosaurs around the park to play with, my little one's favorite was the baby dinosaur hatching out of an egg.

I've been wanting to visit this park for a year or two with my little one, and we were finally able…read moreto get here this summer. It's a newer park, only opened in 2021. The history of the park is interesting. It was called Nikkei to honor the Japanese Americans from this areawho were interred in concentration camps, and their vital contribution to the community that turned on them. The word nikkei refers to members of the Japanese diaspora. The park has a dinosaur theme and is kind of unique amongst parks we've been to. There are several dinosaur sculptures placed throughout the park for kids (both big and small) to enjoy. There's of course plenty of playground equipment. But there's also a sand pit where kids can play and dig for "fossils". We did spend a chunk of time at the sand pit--it was a bigger attraction for my kiddo than I thought. There are toilets here, if I recall correctly, near the entrance to the park. Parking is limited--but it's a neighborhood park, so to be expected. The elementary school nearby allows parking during off-hours.

What an amazing park! A gorgeous canopy of pine trees…read morecovers the majority of the park, including the two playgrounds (one for 2-5 year olds and another for bigger kids.) Picnic tables and benches all over, including many under a central, covered area. Charcoal grilling is permitted, and a safe disposal site for charcoal is available. Two different open grass areas exist, as do many trails. Restrooms were clean and fully stocked.

Wonderful park - especially for kids!…read more Still exploring this place, so will update review later. PNWer afraid of the sun? This is the place for you! Plenty of big tree canopy cover and deep dark shade. Medieval Europe themed kid's play structures! Thrilled that something from my childhood might be passed a little further on to other generations. Amazed that it wasn't nixed for some 'political' reason. The most crowded I've seen it was on a summer weekend with a couple of simultaneous children's birthday parties - and still didn't feel crowded! Have not seen homeless, stealth campers, bums, or junkies. Even when completely empty didn't feel creepy as others report - but then I'm creeped by creepers, not solitude. For further research: There's some type of fenced off private trailer living space inside the park, near the parking lot. Very odd. Park is apparently on what was known as the County Poor Farm. https://clark.wa.gov/community-planning/clark-county-poor-farm Much more space and trails yet to explore.

This place is quite large, 33-acres, yet not a well-known park because of their location. If you…read morelook at it on the map it's in the middle of a bustling area near the highway and the mall, but because of where the entrance is located, you wouldn't necessarily notice it on a daily basis. There is a large open, grassy area at the front so you could play some sports or games, or just lounge, read, and/or sunbathe. On the perimeter of the open grassy area are a some picnic tables (22 of them according to their website), and 3 grills. There is also a large, covered picnic shelter that you can reserve and a small playground (I think there are actually 2 playgrounds, one a bit smaller & tucked in the trees a bit, if I remember correctly). I spotted a public restroom facility near the picnic shelter as well, but didn't utilize them so I can't speak to their cleanliness or whether they were open or not. The open grass area is surrounded by a forested area of huge pine trees, creating a lovely, shady and cool oasis to wander through. There are a number of trails winding there way through the trees, the main ones being several feet wide, with many offshoot trails that are just about a foot wide. Most of the trails are dirt and/or wood chips, but were well maintained and clear when we were there. The trails were also mainly flat so fairly easy to navigate.

Super cute park with lots of space for barbecuing and other family activities. A variety of play…read morestructures for the little ones, and some cute walking trails. The only set back was the restrooms were a bit messy but it was Labor Day weekend so I'm sure that contributes to the mess. Over all would come back.

So many different things to do here, a great spot to spend the day! If there was a negative, it's truly just how busy it is, and you can't hardly fault anyone - it's such a cool spot! Just keep it in mind if you do go, and maybe consider less busy options if it's a peak park time.

This park is a total gem--thoughtfully designed, beautifully shaded, and perfect for families. There are plenty of swings and a great variety of play equipment to keep kids engaged for hours. One of the things I appreciated most was the visibility--there's seating thoughtfully placed all around the park, so no matter where your child is playing, you can easily keep an eye on them. There's even a grassy area under the trees where you can lay out a blanket and relax. Even on a hot day, the metal slides stayed cool thanks to the shade, which is a rare and welcome surprise! The kids there were all friendly, and the parents seemed attentive and involved, creating a really positive, safe vibe. My kids had a blast and would've stayed much longer if I hadn't forgotten snacks--lesson learned! We'll definitely be back, this time with a picnic and more time to explore.
