It's not only highly unfortunate but also disturbing that bullying and discrimination are overlooked at this school. I don't have a student that attends but I was apart of the food program in contract at this site. I was expected to communicate with the Child Nutrition Assistant regarding the utility's at the school, amongst other things that pertained to food safety requirements. One would assume that is not a difficult expectation but considering the unpredictable provoking behavior from this woman on a regular basis, it turned what I thought to be a great position into a complete nightmare. I was only there for a year and it certainly had a negative impact on my mental health. Her manager and the principal all share a relationship privately so accountability was not a factor in resolving the matter appropriately. I would hate to have my child attend any school where they do not practice what they preach or consider what any individual may be going through outside of those doors. My Name is Tiffany Ledesma I have a daughter name Joy Gonzales that is in the Westcreek location of Harmony. I'm writing to ask for help in my situation all I'm asking is for my Daughter to be changed to another class and not have Ms.King as her teacher any more for any subjects. My daughter is currently in Ms.King class and since then my daughter Joy has gotten assaulted 2 times and both times teacher did not send her to the nurse nor called me nothing. First time she got assaulted was by another student a girl grabbed my daughter nipple pinched it and twisted it so hard my daughter cry so much and I didn't find out til I picked my daughter up from school. When I went to teacher Ms.King about it she said she talked with the students and her parents and said the girl said she didn't do it the way Joy mentioned it but yet I don't hear no discipline actions happens and she believe the other little girl over my daughter. Now another on December 5 my daughter Joy was at school in class and a student poked her in the eye with a pencil. Teacher did not call me nor send Joy to the nurse Ms.King mentioned to the principal that she didn't send Joy to the nurse because Joy didn't ask to go to the nurse my daughter is 6 years old and in 1st grade if Ms.King card and showed any concerns about my daughter she would of checked on my daughter eye seen how she looked and sent her to the nurse plus called me letting me know what's going on I didn't get nothing at all. Joy came home with her eye swelled and red. My daughter already has problems with her eye sight and has surgery before and coming up for another surgery again teacher didn't show no concern or care for my daughter and Joy even mentioned that her teacher Ms.King told her she's doesn't care about her. My daughter does not feel safe in her class she cry's everyday and doesn't like going to school because of how she feels. The kid that poked her in the eye got sent to the dean and they are doing something about it and only reason why it's cause I went and said something not the teacher and went above her. Now all I'm asking is for Joy to be moved from her class and I spoke with assistant principal and she can't do nothing about it she says I have to do a written statement to the principal about my concerns when I was going to the school in person 2 days in a row to talk to the principal about this situation and remove Joy and she wouldn't even speak with me to address our concerns and had the front desk tell she will email me instead of just taking time and addressing this issue. My daughter hasn't return to school due to her safety and I don't have a meeting til Wednesday next week so now she's already missed a whole week already. I don't feel like anyone is taking our safety and concern seriously. Joys also mentioned several things about her teacher doing things towards Joy like leaving her in the class by her self and Joy said she's having to run to get back with her class in the hall. Can you please help me I just want my daughter to change classes. Today I had my meeting with the principal Ms.Wynn this morning December 17 @ 8:30 and she said she's not able to move joy classes cause they classes are too full and then she gave me a different reason again it changes. Ms.wynn said she had a meeting with the teacher Ms.King and said she had to remind the teacher about protocol but honestly look when you see one of your students crying in pain and see that eye is looking bad you would want to do something about it contact parents and so forth. I got nothing she didn't care enough to send Joy to nurse or to call me let me know something. I just want my daughter in a different class. Now I'm outside waiting on cops to move forward with this cause the teacher Ms.King did not care at all for my daughter and did nothing when she kept getting hurt and even by the same girl. read more

Over the last school my child was not only verbally abused but physically as well. His Teacher Ms Mosley, the principal Mrs Meck, Assistants Mr Ragsdalr and Mrs Whynn. They failed my child. My son was so afraid of his teacher because she told him that she would snatch him down from the slide because he was going down slowly. I spoke to Mrs Whynn on several different occasions regarding ALOT and nothing was ever done. They wrote my child up for things that was out of his control. Ie. running away from a bully in his class because he was hitting him. Instead of the other child being reprimanded my child was yelled at to sit down and then was called by Mrs Wynn to the office. I would NEVER recommend Harmony Schools of any sort if they had leadership such as these ones. I'm done done with Harmony Public Schools. They failed to communicate effectively with me and instead expelled my son on basis of absolutely NOTHING. I'm done. read more

Harmony Science Academy in Fort Worth is an excellent public charter school. The curriculum is focused on STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The instructors are excellent and work with the students and parents to prepare students for college and future careers. read more

I have 3 attending Harmony Science Academy. The school and staff are all amazing! Our children have thrived in the school. All the staff is very personable, engaging, and involved. The children are safe. The Teachers maintain good communication with the parents. The curriculum is challenging enough that the students are learning and perfecting new skills weekly. The management seems great here. The Teachers are definitely the pride of the school. Everyone gets along great and they have fun traditions and incentives that involve the parents and keep the students motivated. Our children were last minute transfer students that had to attend here for convenience last year and we originally had every intention of placing them back in their original school but our kids love attending Harmony and we're happy that they are happy. Pick-up traffic is a bit of a delay but the staff works really hard to make it safe, fast, and efficient so the price of all 3 is about a 15 minute wait, which is probably better than most. Anyway we're excited for the new school year. We're even trying to get their older siblings enrolled into the nearby Harmony for older students so I recommend it to any parent that is lucky enough to get their child in because there's often a waiting list for this school. read more

High teacher turn over rate. Both of my daughter's teachers quit mid-year leaving huge gaps in her education as she had rolling substitutes until the end of the year. Many kids did not pass the staar that year. My daughter had to play catch up the next year. I would not recommend until they improve the conditions for the teachers and have smaller class sizes. They had 30+ kids in a room half the size of a normal classroom. read more

There not here for you just to pass the class and get moved to the next grade aka ( the US way it seems) they care about each and every student our favorite teacher to date is Mrs. Walter she is so caring, concerned, and amazingly, over the top...
