I had settled on 2 stars until the masseuse asked me for a tip by knocking on the desk and then…read morespeaking. This was after her lackluster massage. Definitely the chance you take when you go to some of the massage places in Metairie. Kinda run down, furniture in dark corners, out of service makeshift Vichy, the air conditioning barely works. Dreary at its best. She was not a massage therapist...her timing was off, kneeding was unbalanced--no wonder they collect pay upfront. Leaning onto me from wrong positioning at the table and poor posture, her range was limited like her English. I found her to be a little rude. Microagrresions like knocking and like leaving the door open. I got her name, Mina, and told her I won't be back due to her subpar service.

My husband and I went to get a couples massage here on our anniversary. We paid up front: $200 for…read more90-minute massages. I am a massage therapist and would NEVER... EVER... EVER... do any of the unethical things that these ladies did. My husband must have had the same lady as Audrey F. This lady massaged his outer thighs with appropriate pressure and technique, but, when it came to his inner thighs she not only massaged in a sensual manner, but she was also making noises like she was getting something from it. Also, when he was on his stomach, she straddled his head while she worked on his shoulders. (She is lucky I didn't see her doing this!) When he flipped to his back, he kept his eyes on her, and every time, she was either looking at him, or turning around looking at me. She constantly told him, your wife is here, yet she kept looking back at me. At one point, I looked her and caught her looking back at me. She made him very uncomfortable. He has never experienced a massage in this manner. Now, the lady that gave me the massage, at one point, covered my eyes with a towel and walked out of the room. (Which is when I saw the lady that was massaging my husband, looking back at me, as if she was doing something unethical.) Prior to this, I noticed a couple of things: 1. The sheet used to "cover" me, barely did. 2. Draping was less than appropriate: She flipped the sheet up, exposing my underwear, & when flipping from my stomach to my back, she lifted the sheet on her side, exposing my breast. Once done, we went to leave, and they were standing at the counter asking for a tip. My husband asked for change for $100. He told them he wanted to tip them $10 each, totaling $20. She took the $100 bill and handed him $20 back and was going to keep the $80. I told her, Oh No!!! $20 for the tip. It appalls me how places like this do this!!!! If I would have known about my husband's experience beforehand, they wouldn't have gotten a penny more. I nearly ended the sessions based off of my experience. For future reference: 1. Always make sure their license is visible. If not, they are most likely not licensed to practice. There should be 1 license for each "Massage Therapist".... Most places like this either don't have any licenses on display, or they have only 1 license thinking this suffices for all of them. 2. Tips should be at the discretion of the client. Tips should NEVER be demanded! You pay for the service, anything extra would be based off of their professionalism, & your satisfaction of the massage. 3. You, the client, have a right to end a session any time you feel uncomfortable and should be refunded at that time.
