Everything at Disney is worth it! Even a haircut... can be more magical. Check it off the Disney bucket list.. or add it to yours. Rosie was awesome! She gave me a perfect haircut and did everything to make the experience fun too. I walked right in and she was ready for my reservation (yes, you have to book a haircut 60 days out, but it's worth it). They do a great job at adult haircuts. It is definitely not just for little kids and first haircuts. The place was not packed with only one three chairs there is always space to get photos and almost escape from the busyness of Main Street. She was very knowledgeable about Disney World and was fun to talk to about our vacation plans. We were going out to a nice dinner at Coronado, so she put a single piece of pixie dust in my hair. She even pulled out some fun props for a haircut photo shoot. Do it. Enjoy being at Disney. Enjoy having fun. read more

Wow. How much fun was this! Hair cut at Magic Kingdom!!!! Who could say no. Nice little 3 stool barber chairs whit the great Disney service. I felt welcome the minute I walked in. The vibe was great! Didn't have an appointment but they did squeeze me in within 10 minutes. Loved the whole experience and the best part the haircut was only $21. You can pay the haircut with a card but the tip is in cash and goes directly to the barber. It was my first time there so I got pixie dusted. How fun. I highly recommend! read more

Fleeced for extra tip money. Story time...Let me first start with that we had this appointment as one of the major things we had planned to do while at Disney with our son who was on his first trip. For context, he is autistic and has a lot of obstacles at this stage and age. When we arrived, we made sure to let the manager and stylist know of this and we were not sure what to expect. At that time we were reassured over and over that everything would be fine. So, with a lot of anxiety we decided to proceed. With the help of the manager, my wife, and my mom the stylist was able to at least get a partial cut before they raised concerns about wanting to continue. Just to know what to expect, they leverage a light up wand, putting mickey stickers everywhere, and having one of the parents sit to the side. Combining that with our own tablet and knowing he was ready to escape we ended it slightly early. My haircut happening at the same time was quick and frankly underwhelming. I think the gentleman was more interested in watching the situation unfold in front of him than cut mine. I don't care about that though. Up to this point everything has been pretty good. Now here is where things take a turn. My cut was 28. His cut was 29. After you factor in the taxes and whatnot, we're in for about 60. As we're leaving with my son my wife comes out and gets 40 dollars, which at this point would give each stylist 20 that actually performed the cut. Little did she know that as they would receive the money, the manager would say, "Really? This is for all of us?". My wife felt so guilty she came back out and got 20 more to walk back in there. The manager took it and said "that's not enough". To which my wife said, "well that's all we have I'm sorry" and left confused. She didn't tell me until we were way past the venue what was happening. It would have been a different conversation if it had been me. Evidently, the checkout system does not allow for tips. At no point in the reservation process is this ever stated. It's not our fault that Disney isn't appropriately set up for this area. Literally every other system in the park that you buy from as a service has the option to tip. And whether they did 50-50 or 33-33-33 on the tip it would have still be sufficient from a service gratuity standpoint. Anyway, this will be the first and last. At least we got a few good pictures. We'll forget the problem. 3/5 for the experience, -2 on the tip fleecing. read more

Love this place for its location! It's right in the front of the park so if you are only coming for the haircut, which we did, it was super fast. You do need an admission ticket to get in here, but if you are planning on spending the day, that wouldn't be a problem anyhow. We arrived probably with five minutes to spare for our two children's first haircut! A gentleman greeted us outside and he wasn't super friendly, but it was OK, the ones who actually did the haircutting inside were awesome! My daughter did phenomenal because the girl was really sweet and made her feel very comfortable. My little guy on the other hand, at just one year old, did pretty OK, his hair is a little crooked here and there, but we'll take it lol I love the first haircut includes a lock of hair, a certificate and a my first haircut,Mickey ear. Not bad for $28 each! read more

My 5 year old daughter had never gotten a haircut and was adamant she wouldn't get one. I convinced her that it would be okay if we did it on our Disney World trip and she agreed. She was very nervous at the beginning but the cast members were wonderful, she got an Elsa wand and immediately relaxed. We got the first haircut option which included the cut, 1st Haircut Mickey Ears and a lock of hair to keep. It was a pretty good price especially considering it's on Disney Property and a wonderful memory to have. The barbershop is very small inside and they seem to stay busy so make sure to reserve a spot a head of time. I'm so happy she was able to get her first haircut at Disney. read more

Almost a 5 star experience. It was Stephen's first time at WDW, and I wanted to make it extra special by having him get a haircut at the Magic Kingdom and got a 4:40 pm appointment on a Monday. I was panicking that we were going to be late, and we were, by 5 minutes. We checked in at 4:45, but they were running behind and Stephen wasn't seated until 5:05. It seems we panicked for no reason. Francis did a great job, was personable as she was cutting Stephen's hair, and even asked if he wanted "pixie dust" in his hair (answer: no). The cut was $19 and I tipped Francis 5 bucks. So why not a 5 star? The hostess/ cashier. She looked like she couldn't wait until her shift was over. Checking us in, she gave us a sour puss look. No smile, no joke. When we were paying, I asked if she could break a large bill so I could tip. She did that willingly, but still more automated than lively. She was the first face we saw, and didn't give us a positive impression. Would we go back? I would gladly have Stephen get another haircut there. Francis did an excellent job, and how often can you say you got a cut at WDW? read more

For only $20-$28, adults and children alike can get a little off of the top, complete with magical pixie dust (or pirate dust) and if you are lucky, you might be serenaded by the Dapper Dans. read more

A perfect way to celebrate a baby's first haircut or just get your hair done on Main Street USA inside of magic kingdom. We decided to get our babies haircut for the first time at this location because we heard so many good things. We booked it on the phone about 2 weeks in advance, however if you need a more specific time and date you may want to book even further out. We arrived about 10 minutes prior to our appointment and were seen just about on time. The hair stylist was absolutely perfect with our little one. She had toys inside of her cabinet to distract her and was singing to her and making baby noises the whole time to keep her entertained. Our little one did extremely well with this and didn't even seem to notice that she was getting her haircut. For $25 and includes a certificate saying where she got her haircut, a pair of Mickey ears with my first haircut stitched to the back, and a lock of keepsake hair. That's really a great deal for Disney especially. Overall: A++ I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get a first haircut done or even just have their own hair done. Considering that the pricing is really low for Disney this is a great experience! read more

I love this little baber shop. It is like a time capsule of the ol'days of barbers. I've taken my children here for their first haircuts. We've made amazing memories for both them and us as parents. The staff goes above to make the haircut as fun and relaxing as possible. They are very precise and fast about getting the haircuts done. They work with the child and are flexible with what the child may need. A definite must if you have small kids. The price is comparable to a haircut in our hometown, but gives the extra magical touch. read more

To begin with, this barbershop is so cute! The staff is very friendly and greet you at the door . Ms. Diane is the sweetest; we took our son for his first haircut and she made us feel very involved. We were worried he would get scared and not let anyone cut his hair but she made this such a fun and fast experience that he was smiling the whole time. Ms. diane offered different techniques like bubbles, stickers, etc so he would be entertained and she was so patient! I love this place and would deffff go again read more

Our little one had their first haircut yesterday with Rosie. Not only was she extremely patient but she was an absolute pro! She took her time and made sure we were happy with everything before she finished. When your little one gets their first haircut at Disney, they get a certificate and a pair of mouse ears that say, "my first haircut." You also get to keep a lock of hair (or an our case, a whole ponytail). The only thing we wish we could have changed is that you're not able to tip with anything but cash. We wish Disney would change this policy and allow you to add a tip to your bill, as they do in every restaurant on the premises. We feel really terrible that we were unable to tip the fabulous Rosie! There is an ATM in Town hall, but unfortunately, we did not have a debit card on us. Rosie was amazing and we cannot recommend her enough! Hopefully the next time we visit Disney, we will see her and be able to make up for it! read more

Many people don't realize there is an actual barber shop inside the Magic Kingdom where you can get a haircut. How cool is that?! They have a "first haircuts" experience which includes 1st haircut mouse ears and a certificate for your little one, and they save a lock of hair for you. They do haircuts for children and adults (no shampoos or blowdrys), as well as beard and mustache trims for men. They also will do hairstyles (which the kids love) using colored gels and/or pixie dust. You'll have your picture taken while sitting in the chair with a Mickey apron on while the barber holds ginormous scissors and a comb over you head (of course the photo costs extra). Believe it or not, for Disney, the prices are pretty reasonable. Especially when compared to the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique (this is definitely a great option if the Boutique isn't i the budget). Also, be on the lookout for the Dapper Dans Barbershop Quartet. Ah-Mazing quartet! read more

I searched all over the internet for reviews as to what it's like to go as an adult. However I found very little information and decided to try it out myself. It was $19+tip to get an adult haircut. This seemed reasonable as its Disney after all. My hair stylist was friendly and I felt did an excellent job. So why 3 stars? The screaming, crying babies. There were some babies who were little champs and loved the experience. But there were some who fought hard not to have to get a haircut. Personally it wasn't pleasant seeing a poor baby cry at Disney World of all places. It would be nice if they expanded the barbershop into a child and then adult section. It was just very loud with kids listening to baby shark and playing with toys. To my surprise there was no Disney music playing and very little Disney theming inside. It was only 3 chairs total as well. With it being such a tiny area it's rough when a kid is crying. It looked like the cast members did a 5 star job for kids/babies. However for adults-I suggest getting your haircut maybe at the Disney salon if your still stuck on wanting a Disney hair cut or off property. It was worth trying at least once and I did get some pixie dust! read more

We had a great experience at the Barbershop for our son's first haircut a day after his first birthday. The haircut looked good and the shop was fun and our son got a free Mickey ears. A couple things they could improve on: Booking - this took forever to get booked. We understand they're busy, but lumping them in to the resort booking system is a BAD idea. Had to call and wait through resort golf messages until no option resulted in a "8 minute wait" that really was a 20 minute wait. Also, to book, it was another 10 minutes talking to someone. For a haircut. Really? Our Barber might have been having a bad day, but he was just very quiet. While a good cut and efficient, it didn't seem magical Disney. read more

On our recent trip to Disney World, we confirmed that Disney "extras" really are worth it! Getting our baby's first haircut at the Harmony Barber Shop is a very top notch and special experience that I was so glad we were able to do. I booked my son's haircut online a couple weeks before our trip and was surprised that there wasn't very much availability left on our Magic Kingdom day. For those who'd like to do this experience, book it as soon as you can! We managed to get a 9:40am reservation and, after enjoying the morning at Early Morning Magic Fantasyland, we booked it to the front of the park and walked in the barbershop right on time. It is a tiny shop with only 3 chairs, a small bench to sit on, and the cashier. Our barber was Judy and she did great with my 21 month old little boy. They are professionals and ready to take on young children. She gave my son a Buzz Lightyear toy and he remained occupied for the duration of the cut! We just wanted a trim all around and she did a wonderful cut. The best part about the first haircut package is that for $25, you get a keepsake bag with locks of their hair, a certificate, and a pair of "My First Haircut" ears! It's the best deal in all of Disney World! read more

This was a terrible experience. A caveat - my son has had his hair cut before coming here and had no issues. The stylist was trying to get my son excited about the experience - giving him stickers, "tickling" him with the buzzers, and talking to him. This worked for a few minutes. We asked for a "boys regular". He was wiggling in the chair but nothing out of the norm - especially for someone who is familiar with giving toddlers a hair cut. she was using the buzzer (which is what we do at our home shop) and then continued to change the tip of it (but did not blend the hair at all). In fact, she cut the back of his ear with the buzzer (didn't realize it until after) and he really had a meltdown. She shaved so close to his ear that it looked like she was doing a design in his hair. very disappointed in the quality - especially after reading so many great reviews of "first haircuts" here. I called our home hair dresser immediately and booked an apt for when we got back. When we walked in her mouth dropped to the floor - she did the best she could do to make it look better... thank goodness his hair will grow back quickly. I DO NOT recommend getting a hair cut here. read more

Both my children had their first haircuts here, and I wouldn't go anywhere else for that. For $18 you get a certificate with Mickey and friends, and a set of small Mickey ears that say First Haircut on the back. We took my little boy yesterday during the late morning. We didn't have an appointment, but the hostess was extremely nice and accommodating telling us the wait was about 35 minutes, so we waited outside enjoying the atmosphere of Main Street. We didn't wait too long for it to be our turn. The lady who cut his hair was very skilled with working with tiny, squirmy children. She did a great job of keeping him distracted while she cut his hair. Her name was Diane. I really hope that a supervisor or Disney executive reads this, because when it came time to pay for the haircut, I was expecting to leave a tip on the credit card slip, but was told tipping was cash only. Nobody in my party was carrying any cash with us, When I finally came across an ATM and made it back to Main Street, the shop was closed and I'm feeling quite terrible about it as I write this review. Disney higher ups: Please fix this, lots of people don't like to carry cash anymore, and your staff at The Harmony Barber Shop are so outstanding, they don't deserve to loose tips because of this. read more

An absolute must-do if you have a little one who is in need of their first haircut! We held off 2 yrs on getting the toddler haircut so she could get her first haircut at Disney. They are pros at distraction- give the kids a load of stickers, a light up twirling Minnie and they don't even realize there are scissors chopping their hair off. Judy was our barber and she was most excellent. Its such a great deal too- $18 for the cut, certificate of bravery, and a set of ears with "first haircut" on the back. You can get a reservation, but they only take 2 per hour- the rest of the spots are for walkins. I got my sons 1st haircut at Disney at this location. I called to make an appointment and was told that they were booked months in advanced, but that if I wanted an appointment there was a cancellation that had just happened and there was a 9am opening only a few days away. I took it! The shop is located inside Disney on Main Street USA, so know that you'll need a ticket to get in to the park first. We got there and didn't wait very long. We had a barber named Kyle and he did a fantastic job with my little one whom hadn't turned 1 yet but severely needed a hair cut. Kyle pulled out all the tricks he could to keep a 10 month old still and it worked. The edging on the haircut was great considering how much my son moved. After, Kyle gave us a certificate, gave my son some Mickey Ears that said "My First Haircut" and gladly took a picture with us. Small things like that really made the experience worth it. Haircut also was reasonably priced, about $25. Not bad considering this was at Disney World. PS: they seem to have walk in appointments, but these are random and my not fit a tightly planned schedule, so if you want to walk in, know that opening appointments will vary throughout the day. read more

The Harmony Barber Shop is located IN Magic Kingdom. After you walk in, the shop is on the left right before you head down Main Street. We booked a "My first haircut" appointment for my daughter. We did book this haircut about 3 weeks in advance, and the booking agent on the phone was super friendly. We had a wonderful experience. My daughter was being cranky and the lady who cut her hair gave her spinning princess toys and stickers to play with while she got her hair cut. After the cut she sprinkled "pixie dust" in her hair and gave her "my 1st haircut" mickey ears and a certificate. We also got a lock of her hair in a keepsake bag. This whole experience, plus all of the extras that comes with it, was only $25! I would say this is one of the best values at the park. I hate to give anything Disney a bad review... but I feel I must post a word of caution to any adults out there who are considering a haircut at the Harmony Barber shop. First, let me say the experience was amazing- it was too much fun getting my hair cut in Disney! I'm just disappointed in the cut itself. I'm sure they do a fine job with kids' cuts. Also note I am a HUGE Disney fan, I love everything Disney does at the parks and resorts and think they are a top-notch operation. Disney never ceases to amaze me with their attention to every tiny detail and high quality operations. Here is my experience with the Barber Shop. I had planned to cut 10" from my hair to donate to Locks of Love. I thought what better place to have this special haircut than in a special place- Disney! I am at Disney all the time anyway, why not try the barbershop and chop off all this hair- especially now, in the summer, when it is SO hot- a shorter haircut would feel great in the parks. So I made an appointment- and actually went to Disney just for this haircut. I was not expecting salon-quality style, I know it is a barber shop, but I figured my request was an easy one. Cut off the 10" ponytail (which I could have had anyone do) but this would have the benefit of having a professional straighten out the bottom of the haircut and make it look presentable. Well, the chopping off the ponytail was easy enough. And she trimmed something (?) afterwards- but I have to say, once I got home and LOOKED at my haircut- I could have done this well myself. My right side is literally one inch longer than the left. I have straggly pieces of hair all the way around that are significantly longer than the rest. Some sections in the back are a half inch shorter than others. Nothing is even. It looks chopped, like someone literally just hacked it off. It looks like I cut off a ponytail and then did nothing. I wasn't expecting high style, but I did expect an even haircut on straight hair. I am very disappointed. Although the barbershop prices are reasonable ($19 for an adult), that's not a bargain if you have to do it over. I spent $24 (with tip), plus the time and effort to go. Considering I just wanted something very simple, I didn't think it made sense to pay my salon $45-70 just to do a very basic haircut. But now, I'm going to have to pay a salon to fix this haircut. So, more cost, and more time. I'd expected to just have one magical experience and not worry about it. Again, the overall experience was very cool. The staff is friendly, the barbershop is cute, it's in DISNEYWORLD, the barbershop quartet happened to be singing outside, I got "pixie dust" (glitter) after the haircut... you cannot get any more magical than that. But as I was researching whether to get my hair cut there, I saw several postings in the discussion boards from adults, wondering if they should schedule an appointment for a regular (grown up) haircut. I wanted to post this as a word of caution... I really thought what I was asking was very simple and easy, and the results are really, really NOT good. If you want a particular hairstyle, this might not be the place to try. P.S. I had also read they use a Mickey cape, and giant red comb and scissors to pose for photos. I did not see any of those things, and this was clearly one big photo event for us (I even came with my own props, which we did use:). So maybe you have to ask for those things. One star for the haircut. 4 stars for the experience. read more

It was quite a coincidence that on the way to the Magic Kingdom one morning, my wife said that our son needed a haircut when we get home, before school begins. So, for all of the years that I have been coming to Disney World / Magic Kingdom, I never had any idea that there was a real working barber shop on Main Street USA, and as we walked in (we had to stop at City Hall), as we waited, I noticed out of the corner of my eye that there was a barber shop nestled into the corner next to the stables. So I walked over, expecting that it was just a "pretend" storefront, but much to my surprise there were people in there, and they were getting their haircut. As simple a convenience as this is, you'd never expect that this was here (mind you it is a very small storefront). They have four barber chairs and very pleasant barbers as you might expect. We brought our son in there, and we had to wait for about 15 or 20 minutes, but I felt it was something that we had to do. They gave him a very handsome haircut, and they even put "fairy dust" into my little girls hair as well. Much to my surprise the haircut was less expensive than at our neighborhood barbershop back home . . . go figure -- this is the best value in all of Disney World. I think I am going to get my haircut here the next time we come back. And, as an added bonus, it is worth noting that if you time your haircut just right, you get one of the best seats in the park for the viewing the parades, as the floats are parked right next door behind a large non-descript gate between city hall and the stables (right next door to the barber shop). read more

Harmony Barber Shop - My daughters first haircut at harmony barbershop. Such a fun experience at Disney world - Barbers Near Me - Orlando, Florida

We took both our children to the Harmony Barber Shop in Magic Kingdom for their first haircuts. My daughter was 3 1/2 (yes, really, I waited THAT long) and my son was 10 months. Dulce, who cut my daughters hair, was super sweet and made her feel comfortable right away. It helped that she was bilingual and was able to communicate with our 3 yo in both languages. She was well prepared with stickers and spinning toys to help my daughter from moving too much. We ended up cutting about 8 inches of my daughters hair, so even though my daughter was a bit surprised to see herself so drastically different, Dulce made her feel beautiful and even sprinkled some "fairy dust" (glitter) on top. Lori, who cut my 10 month old's hair was simply amazing! My son was super wiggly, yet Lori seemed very confident in what she was doing. She trimmed all the random long hairs he had and used the clippers to give it a great shape. She was very careful when setting him up so he didn't have hair inside his collar and didn't get irritated or itchy. Both kids received a certificate for their first haircuts, a lock of their hair and Mickey ears! It was a great price for a great experience!!! read more
