Quest in Ventura told me they routinely have waits of about 3-4 hours so you really need an appointment or to come at 6 am. I wish there was a UCLA diagnostic lab here but overall I'm just so glad to have good doctors and care in Ventura

All the doctors are excellent in their field. in office procedures include EKG's, ultrasound, cardiac stress test, cognitive evaluations, blood draws. They use the Epic electronic medical record - so they are able to confer with doctors in the UCLA medical practice as well as those that have private practice. We are very happy that the UCLA office in Ventura is only twenty minute drive from our home.

Dr Lami is a gem, he understands and agrees to be helpful if you need something and then when you call back, the staff can't be bothered to assist. I think the staff answers calls for all of the offices and some of them just do what they can to get you off the line and don't really care if they help you. I guess they think when you call back someone else will do the work. Lazy. Then they get mad that you call so many times. Trust me, I wish I didn't have to spend 2 days trying to get someone to understand what is needed. I did the work asking about my request from the dr 2 weeks ago. Then gave them a heads up on Monday or Tuesday. Then asked for what I needed yesterday. Now today, All the calls to the pharmacy then Dr office then pharmacy etc. come on. Should I really have to go through all that? Even though I would ask for someone that I already talked to, the person would say they could help me and no different results. You work in healthcare so you should act like you care about the patients? It's 5:04 and I called 8 minutes ago. I've been left on hold after closing time. She was very thorough, explained everything clearly, and made sure all of my questions were answered. I felt like she genuinely cared and provided the treatment I needed. I also really appreciate that when you call the office, a real person answers the phone instead of an automated system. Upon further inspection of the floor, it was not clean. There were spots where blood had dripped & and was haphazardly wiped - not washed. Dr. Castel listens to all our concerns and goes out of her way to make sure that my mother always feels like she is important and that her needs will be taken care of. My mom says that Dr. Castel is the best doctor that she has ever had and appreciates the care she is given. We also appreciate all the care we get from Dr. Castel's assistant Kristen! Kristen is always kind and understanding when she is working with us. I sleep well knowing that my mother is well cared for with Dr. Castel and Kristen, looking out for her needs! Billing dept mgr and scribe says my spouse has low back pain. He takes an occasional Advil after riding over 40 miles on his bicycle and up in the mountains at 76 yr old. Dr Williams asked me if I took calcium/D3. I have NEVER been D3 deficient and started taking calcium with D3 in it in when 50 years old as Dexa scan said a bit of osteopenia which has changed little in 25 years. We simply answered Dr Williams questions and I asked her to check my husband's hearing. The scribe and Billing Mgr will write in anything they can (true or not) to charge you extra! It was all routine exam, eyes, ear, throat heart, lung, and breast exam for me. No internal exams. We will be changing doctors asap and refuse to pay extra fees for routine exams and to answer questions. We are healthy, exercise, eat right, and NOT overweight. We reported them to Aetna FRAUD dept! I notified Dr Williams. She will be retiring in 2 years she told me. AVOID THIS GROUP with offices located in Ventura and Oxnard. This is the first time they started UPCHARGING despite going there for several years for our physicals/wellness visit!
